  • Allow Me To Vent...Yet Again!

I am so sick and tired of seeing major league baseball players wearing sunglasses on their hats instead of on their faces. Case in point...my man, Jose Reyes, is wearing his Oakley's upside down on his hat when he lost a ball in the sun! What is the fucking point? Style points? Either put them on your face or leave them in the dugout. Today, in the Sox/Mariners game...sun beaming, high sky, and players have sunglasses on their hats! I don't get it....

I remember when my father would tell me about the 'olden days' and how players played the game differently when he was kid. Well, back in the 'olden days' (80's), that shit would never happen...you wore the good 'ol flip downs!

    Okay, feeling better!

I agree with ya though man. I've seen it numerous times and don't understand why they don't wear them like they're supposed to be worn

A lot of today is the hip hop era so i'm sure some of that comes onto the field. Every where I look I see hip hop wearing shit. White guys with pants down to their ankles etc.

Now bry's pants down to his ankles is understandable since he has no ass.

I blame the managers for not telling the high $ players to wear em........Hell they don't run out pop flys, nonchalantly go after foul balls, don't give 100 % on running out ground balls, etc.....

In essence----some, not all, are lazy and resting on their laurels..........3 Jack mentioned the "Old days" (1980's), lets go way back starting from the 50's, when they played the game hard, because it was a game........

High $ has almost totaly ruined all sports when it comes to pure hustle, heart, never giving up, wanting to win, or when you're ahead 13-1, still playing hard.......

Lots of Pro teams tend to play to keep it close, or not to lose, rather than playing "to win", and kicking ass......They took pride in what they did, and how they did it.....

But hell, I could say the same thing for the "work force", in the USA also.........Pride in what you do is diminishing quickly, cause parents today are too busy to try and instill pride, achievement, success, giving 100 %, accomplish your endeavors, create goals for yourself, in their kids today........

Thank you 3 Jack, now I've vented also........kapt

PS---you're right it wouldn't have happened in the old days, cause in those days, managers could and would tell their players what to do, and yank em if they didn't........How can you do that today to a man making 10-30 Million $ a year, and he's making 1 million......

Ty Cobb, Clemente, Rose, Martin, are just a few that stick out to me as playing the game hard.......

Growing up baseball was my favorite sport. Now? I FUCKING HATE baseball. The game that's played today is a joke. Most play the game for money. Not for the love of the sport. The league is watered down. There's only a few quality pitchers. Fewer quality closers.
