Typical Yankee fan pulling out history as the security blanket when they can't win a discussion on today's team....
About as horrible as it has been for you since the Yanks question that you threw out was on the exact same page as this one was.. U are FOR NOW!! Getting another game closer tonight
Boston wont be by season end.. Detroit has a cake walk with the White Sux choking like they have been..
BLAH,BLAH,BLAH,BLAH,BLAH ... I've been hearing this for months and it is anything but original. You can't predict the future and we both know that so why do you ALWAYS avoid talking about the Present day when the conversation gets going???
The muts need to worry about beating the weak ass Cubs before you and I can even begin to talk about Cake Walking
seriously, why do you get so wrapped up about 1, 2 or 3 games...who cares? When you have a 12 game lead, who cares if they get swept by the Cubs or win 1-0...It is 162 game schedule. Name one team in the history of the game that didn't have a bunch of bad losses or bad wins (if there is such a thing) each season? They will lose games they should win and they will win games they should lose. The best teams lose 60-65 times and some of them will be to shit teams. You play 162 games with a goal of being able to play in October. I could care less if the Mets go 0-12 against the Cubs as long as they are still one of 8 teams playing in October...and right now, things look pretty darn good for my team. That is why you build 13 game leads, so you can step on your Johnson against teams like the Cubs.
And as for your next argument...'well, they are in the NL'...the Mets can only play who is on there schedule. And there ain't no shame in making the playoffs in the NL versus not making the playoffs in the AL.
