  • TP's Sunday, 23rd of July

The Yankees just held on, and I'm posting this one right now. I'll write a little about it later tonight.

    Baseball Plays (58-55, +7.63*)

Orioles (Bedard) @ Devil Rays (Kazmir) Under 4 (+106) - First 5 innings

I may add later, especially if James ends up starting for the Braves, which I assume he will.
    Records:

    NCAA Hoops (38-34-2, +4.59*)
    NFL Sides (34-25, +12.15*)
    NFL Totals (18-14-1, +8.23*)
    NCAA Foots Plays (65-48-4, +21.47*)
    NBA Plays (4-1-0, +5.92*)

Well, the first two games of this O's/Rays series have been shootouts. The opener was 14-7, and the second game is currently 13-12 in the 8th. But, I think the offensive explosion slows down quite a bit here, at least while the starters are still in the game.
Eric Bedard has been the hottest pitcher in baseball, with a 0.50 ERA his last five starts. Two of those were on the road, and all he did in those was pitch 14 innings, and give up 7 hits and 2 runs.
Kazmir has been similar, especially at home. He pitched 23 innings in his last three home games (the last two against Boston and the NYY), giving up only 12 hits and 3 ER.
The Orioles can't hit lefties at all. They have a team .244 average, and are scoring only 4.0 runs per game. Tampa isn't much better - they score 4.6 runs per game against lefties, and are hitting .259.
These bullpens are exhausted, and terrible. I've got interest in playing under for the game, but I feel this is something like 1-1 through five innings.

                Thanks everyone. One more play:

                Atlanta Braves +149 (action)
The Braves road record is the same as the Phillies home record. The Phillies have a losing home record against lefty starters, and their lineup has a lot of lefties. The Braves hit righties very well, and they hit 15 points better and score a half run more per game than Philadelphia.
So, unless the starters are completely mismatched, I can't pass up the Braves at this price. I don't think there's much of a mismatch at all.
I've got nothing against Myers, but he hasn't been very good lately. His ERA last five starts is almost 7, and his WHIP in that time period is only slightly under 2.00. He faces the hottest lineup in baseball in a Braves team that has scored over 9 rpg last 10.
The Braves have won 4 of Horacio's 5 road starts. His last two road starts saw him pitch 13 innings, and give up only 9 hits and 1 ER. His overall ERA is only slightly worse than Myers' ERA, and it is 3 runs better in their last five starts.

The Braves should be the underdog, but not anywhere near this large a dog. I like getting this price on a better team. I did play it action, because I would make the same play with James pitching, and the Phillies won't start anyone better than Myers.

Nice job on the early winner TP!! Good luck on the Braves tonight. I see everyone pounding the Phillies with the Jones' out of the line up. Good, let them pound the Phillies, Braves can now be had at +170. Laying off the side in this one but wishing you the best that the Braves win here tonight!!

Nice call TP!!! Thanks for the Braves winner. Unfortunately I parlayed it with the Over 9.5 so I lost the parlay. But congrats on a great call!!
