As much as it kills me to say this, I think the Yankees win the AL East and either Toronto or CWS take the Wild Card. As much as I like the Sox and want them to win, they need to do something, and quickly, about their pitching imo. And I am not sold on their bats either. Relying on a lot of question marks.

I think the Yankees get Sheffield/Matsui back and they go back to outscoring oppenents 9-8, like last year...all that means is that they lose first round as it becomes a pitching/defense game in the playoffs and they have neither, but enough to win the AL EAST unless Theo does something HUGE.

Why are we so fickle as fans and always fail to see the big picture. We always love the chicken little mantality. I know for a fact the Twins cant keep playing .800 ball for much longer. Tigers have a 7.5 game cushion but only 2 weeks ago most said the Tigers will get the WC and will be 2nd in the division to the White Sox.

Well guess what the Tigers have begun to slump and 2 of their starters are no longer pitching well but they are being bailed out by the bats.

Baseball is too long a season for it all to play week by week as we fans seem to want it too. Winning or losing a single game doesnt change the big picture.

No wonder why Jim Leyland is such a great manager.....he has drilled this type of mentality into the players and its paying HUGE DIVIDENDS.

By the way does anyone still wanna replace Todd Jones? I know this comment will come back up once he blows one (even the greatest blow games) but he sure has settled down.....I cant remember the last time he blew one.

Im thinkin the Tigers take 1 of 3 this weekend at the DOME (either the Liriano or Santana start) but wouldnt it be something if the Tigers won the series?

Thanks to this paragraph I have just sold myself on betting the Tigers for the series......Minny is making a huge deal of this series and are bound for a letdown....it always happens when a team is chasing another and the Tigers have had their number this year.

I will be making a bigger than usual size bet (2 or 3X) on the Tigers this weekend.....whos comin with me?

            PEACE

I agree with that.. But IF the season ended today they would not even make the playoffs.. I know there is alot of baseball left to be played and ANYTHING can happen.. Just think IF they didnt get off to that shitty ass start they would be right at the top of the division in the mix with Detroit and not having to worry about the Wild Card..

Whoever wins it will deserve it, their are 3 teams that deserve it, which begs the question Why the Fuck dont they make the playoff with more teams.

I understand that this way the absolute best make it but, what if the Twins dont make which I think they wont. Thats unfair, they could win it all with those two pitchers. Look at the stellers, anyone can win once they get in. Their needs to be more teams in to stop the repeatidiveness of Yankees, Red Sox, Yankees, Red Sox........

I agree with that 100% Honestly I think that it would really really suck if the Twins didnt make it in.. They have been the hottest and best team in baseball over that past 47 games BAR NONE!!

Hold on a minute-the season is 162 games long and yes the Twins are torrid right now.
That being said, games played at the beginning of the season count just as much as now, but if Twins can maintain anything of a semblance of the pace they are on presently, they will get there (especially if they sweep teams like the White Sox).
