My step-son just called me from Fla and said that a 17 year old Homwtown Girl from Pgh, named Shateekwa Hemingway, that works out at the Boxing Gym from back home (Steel City Gym) where he coaches, just became the National Amatuer Champion, by Knocking out her oponnent in the 1st round... I think he is at the Pan Am Games...
She is sort of a homeless girl, that doesn't know who her dad is, and has a mother that runs the streets...The Guys at the Gym, kind of adopted her and made her part of their family...

She's only been at the Gym for 2 years, but yes, she has been fighting to survive her own life..I just hope she doesn't get caught up with the wrong promotor......
