Check your bill this month. I just got mine and they ASSUMED since I bought the NFL ticket last year that I would this year too and decided to ding me for it this month. I have not called to order it for this year. Just a heads up

Forgot to mention that my bill is deducted from my credit card each month, and that is how I found it. That is highly illegal and I told them i was gonna sue their ass. Their legal dept. is supposed to get back with me. Not really gonna do it, but hope to get the season for free

bigtex...I have had the NFL package the past few years..actually the first time u sign up they tell you that they will automatically bill you the following year for the p0ackage and if u dnt want it, you have to call up and cancel...but good luck with your suit

I never was told that and never signed anything to agree to that.

They will probably offer you the option of having it cancelled and your card refunded. After they do that, there isn't much else you can do BUT ... If you say no, i want it anyway, you are going to look pretty stupid for making a big deal over it.

Dish TV does the same thing too. All my sports packages are automaticly renewed, unless I tell them by a certain date, I don't want it. They call this negative decoration. If forces us to do something to unsubscribe. It sucks, but it is legal because it does say on your bill that they did this and what you have to do to stop it. They use the excuse that they are doing you a favor so you can renew at the early bird lower rate. Actually, I'm OK with this because I'm going to subscribe anyway and this way I do get the package at the cheaper rate. Now if I ever stop gambling, that's a different story. I wouldn't want it and I would have to stop it. Let us know if Direct TV does anything for you. Sorry to say it but I would be surprised if they do.

Not to pile on, but so does MLBTV over the internet. You need to call them to cancel for the upcoming season if you don't want it. But, I hope you get your free season...

Sorry to say this Big Tex, but you are fighting an uphill battle...had a buddy of mine try to cancel his NFL Ticket a week before the season and they only issued a partial credit to him...

I've had DirecTV for years. Every one of their sports subscriptions says it automatically renews. They make no attempt to hide this. It's usually right on the screen! It's easy to cancel. You either notify them in advance or they'll credit the card.

Also, you probably had the NFL Ticket as a recurring line on your bill for the last several months with no money charged (because it is out of season). This was your tipoff to cancel if you don't want it.

They even send out stuff in advance of the season urging you to keep the service and pointing out it automatically renews.

I don't understand your complaint. Every other service you get from cable or satellite also automatically renews.

I sure hope your complaining doesn't mean they change their policies and I have to worry about renewing every blasted thing.
