  • More Nicknames Game

    In addition to the Kaptain's thread, here are a few more nicknames to consider which came to mind to me;some are allstars;some are not: What re their real names-no cheating.
    Mad Hungarian
    El Guapo
    Dr. Strangeglove
    Space Man
    Wild Thing
    Wizard of Oz
    Oil Can
    Stan the Man
    Charlie Hustle
    Old Tomato(this one is tough-hint he played on the Red Sox in the 60's).
    Ozark Ike-This one goes back to the fifties.

                  Mad Hungarian is Al Rabosky. Not sure why I remembered that one. But didn't he have a big fu man chu and wild hair or something? Always tried to stare down the hitter if I remember right.

                        Here are a couple for those who like me go back aways:
                        "The Kitten"
                        "Harry the Cat"

                        The only ones that folks did not get before are Dr. Strange Glove-Dick Stuart for his adventures playing first base for the Red Sox,
                        Old Tomato-Jack Lamabe, a journeyman relief pitcher for the Red Sox, who got his name because his face many times would turn red(I always wondered why it would not have had to turn orange to get that name) and Ozark Ike-Guz Zernial, going WAY back to the 1950's.
