I've heard people say that too and (IMO) it is the dumbest thing i have EVER heard. Red Sox fans should realize just how important a closer is. Starters are everywhere and closers are rare!

Over all of the years I have followed them(and I am sure you would agree) so many games have been pissed away late in the game and especially the ninth inning because Sox didn't have anyone who could protect the lead.
What would this Sox writer propose next-perhaps that the Sox go back to the "closer by committee" concept and perhaps use Seanez, Tavarez and Jason Johnson to protect the lead in the ninth and have Papelbon start?
ps Maybe the writer thinks Sox can/should even resurrect Dick Radatz.
