  • Soccer wagering question

I am really new at soccer wagering and must be missing something.

My sportsbook has France -1/2 +100. The moneyline is France +107. If I I bet on France for $100 -1/2 and they win in regulation I win $100.

If I take the ML and they win in regulation I win $107.

The ML section does have a draw option as well. I wonder if this makes the .07 basis point difference.

Thanks guys, any help would be appreciated.

take the +107 as the other way they have to win by 1 goal or more.

On the +107 if it ends in a tie does it push or lose? If it loses then the -1/2 would lose as well. If it pushe's then the -1/2 would still be a loser.

If there's a tie option; you select a side and the match ends in a tie, you lose.

Yeah, but he would lose on the -1/2 and it doesn't pay as much.

I see where you're going, but not too many people know about the ties equaling a loss. So a moneyline play would also lose. The -1/2 does not make a difference if it ends in a tie. You lose either way. In order to win the play on France, they would have to win by one goal anyway you look at it. Yes he would win 107 if France wins by a goal or more.

If the score is tied after 90 minutes (plus stoppage) I would lose either way. If France wins 1-0 after 90 minutes I win $100 or $107, depending on which way I go

It must be a glitch. I just can't see why anyone would take France -1/2 for even money when they could get the same bet for +107.

              I get it now.

So basically if you wager on soccer you better believe your team will win by a goal. Thus the reason they offer better juicce on a tie since it equals a loss.

I tried betting on soccer in the past and I could never understand losing my play if there is no winner. I guess in soccer, there are so many ties that the only way the books can make a decent $ is to include the ties as a option. I guess it's just like betting on the colors in Roulette. You know red, black and green.

It's also like betting a parlay with a local. If a game ties the whole parlays loses. At least its that way with a lot of them.

Thanks for the responses, I had to make sure before I play it.

I know more about American football, and it is just around the corner. Thanks again!
