    Six-Pack for Saturday
-- Indians led 7-0 in 8th inning at Cincinnati Friday, but lost 9-8, as Dunn hit walk-off grand slam. Horrible loss for Tribe
-- Mets having bad week, 0-4 vs Boston, Bronx; they had only one hit Friday. Delgado is out, Loduca is playing hurt, Reyes has sagged after his amazing hot streak. Luckily for Mets they play in terrible division, so no harm.
-- Padres scored twice in bottom of ninth to hand Giants a tough loss, 6-5. NL West is really a tight race.
-- Fogg, Moyer both threw complete games in 207-pitch, 2-0 Colorado win; total of seven hits, five walks, five strikeouts in very fast game, umpired by Marquez.
-- Royals continued their improved play with 7-5, 10-inning win at St Louis. Still don't think they deserve to have guys on the All-Star ballot, but their win %age is up to .333.
-- Addition of Navarro behind plate has made Devil Rays a much better team defensively; he threw Zimmerman out at third stealing early in Friday's game, and tone was set for a Tampa Bay team that isn't great, but is getting better.

Saturday Changes I'd like to see.......
    13) Freedom of speech would be tolerated; it isn't anymore. Every time Ozzie Guillen makes some outrageous statement, he winds up apologizing. Why? In America, we have the inalienable right to say what we think, no matter how rude or boorish, but it seems to be slipping away in a wave of political correctness. That's too bad.

    12) NBA playoff series would be best-of-three, until the best-of-five Finals. The league would also switch to International Rules (except the 24-second clock would stay). The best basketball league in the world should allow any defense to be played. I'd also shorten the regular season to 64 games.

    11) All contracts would be honored, both ways; coaches couldn't be let go until their contract was up, and coaches couldn't leave until then either. We'd see shorter term contracts probably.

    10) Speaking of contracts, no ballplayers would get more than a two-year contract. Hunger breeds better play. 9) NFL teams would only play two preseason games each, not four.

    8) Brent Musberger would host an NFL pregame show.

    7) Notre Dame wouldn't be allowed in Big East in basketball, unless they joined a league in football, too, and shared their money. If they want to be independent in football, then be independent in all sports.

    6) No more designated hitter, except in the All-Star Game.

    5) No more aluminum bats in college baseball. Someone is going to get killed.

    4) College football teams wouldn't be allowed to play I-AA teams anymore. There are enough lousy I-A teams to get easy wins against.

    3) Baseball coaches/managers would no longer wear uniforms, and wouldn't be allowed on the field during the game, except to check on an injured player. No more arguing calls or visiting the pitcher on the mound. You want the game speeded up? That'll do it.

    2) Each of the four pro leagues would have both a salary floor and a salary cap. Teams making a fortune while intentionally putting a horrible product on the field is worse than a team with its own TV network reaping a fortune.

    1) Every summer, a pay-per-view 1-on-1 tournament, featuring one player from each of thirty NBA teams, plus two players voted in by fans on the Internet. Proceeds go to charity; participation in this event would become a standard part of player contracts. Who isn't going to pay to watch Garnett vs Marbury, or Yao Ming vs Kobe? If these guys can play in international tournaments, they can play five 1-on-1 games.
