  • TP's Tuesday 6/27

I'm definitely playing this one, and I may add another.

Phillies (Hamels) @ Orioles (Bedard) Under 9.5 (-115)
If someone can figure why this total is more than 8.5, let me know. Anyway, just wanted to throw this one out there early, it will move down.
    Records:

    NCAA Hoops (38-34-2, +4.59*)
    NFL Sides (34-25, +12.15*)

        GL tomorrow Anthony....
I haven't been able to figure out neither Hamels or Bedard this year....Both have been Jeckel and Hyde this year....
The only thing that scares me is both bullpens have been know to give up some runs in the later innings...

Thanks guys. Here's a couple things I played small, if anyone happens to care:

          Ghana +1.5 +100
Ghana to advance +760 (very small, but there is value here. Brazil is not as dominant a team as people seem to believe)
Brewers +183 - on general principle - it's hilarious to see the Cubs this much of a favorite, especially against a lefty.

              To recap/explain everything:

Baseball Play of the Day (37-39, +1.25)

Phillies (Hamels) @ Orioles (Bedard) Under 9.5 (-115)
Here we have a matchup of Bedard, who has been Baltimore's lone bright spot, and Hamels, who is a very talented but inconsistent lefty. The thing here is that neither team can hit LHP at all. Baltimore is the second worst team in baseball against LHP (to the Cubs, of course). Philly is 20th.
Baltimore is 6-19 against LHSP, scoring 4.0 rpg (as opposed to 5.3 against RHSP). Philly is 9-11, scoring 4.7 rpg - on the road they score only 3.7 rpg.

The line has moved to 9.5 (-121) at Pinnacle, and I think it's smart money coming in.

              And a team total:

Minnesota Twins Team Total Over 3.5 (-128)
Well, Derek Lowe's ERA is under this number, but he has been worse on the road than at cavernous Dodger Stadium. There is also the matter of the Dodgers' bullpen, which is the only thing keeping them from being a serious contender in the NL.
The Twins have been very good lately, especially offensively. They have scored more than 3.5 runs 16 out of 18 overall, and 10 of 11 at home, where they average 5.5 rpg (5.7 at night).
The Dodgers handle LHP, so over 7.5 (+111) may be the correct play as well - but Liriano has pitched 12 scoreless innings when starting at home, so that's not my play.

              Small personal plays:

              Ghana +1.5 +100
Ghana to advance +760 (very small, but there is value here. Brazil is not as dominant a team as people seem to believe)
Brewers +183 - on general principle - it's hilarious to see the Cubs this much of a favorite, especially against a lefty.

Sorry for the long, difficult to navigate thread. This is more action than I've had since college basketball season.
