  • Best Sunday Bet from KAZ

Guys, I have never posted a GOY on here, and I guess I still won't because if it loses, I feel like shit, but this is as close as it gets for me. I love this play....

    Cleveland -115

This kid Sowers looks like the real deal. I should note he is from Ohio and this is hjis lifelong dream to pitch in the majors. He is pitching for an Ohio team against another Ohio team.

Here is the note on the fantasy analysis. This guy looks like he has sick stuff....

"Shoppach had caught Sowers in Triple-A, where the phenom was 9-1 with a 1.39 ERA. This could help him in his transition to getting big league hitters out."

Check out his minor league stats at the bottom of this link....

Good luck if you play it....

He is the REAL Deal. Indians insiders predict he will carry this team. The Indians have been very careful with him but with his performance in the minors, they could not wait any longer.

        Good luck!

I hope game comes through, but can you really say with a straight face that ANY untested rookie pitcher making his first start in the Bigs deserves anything even close to a GOY rating?

Savage----he just said it---and clarified it by saying this rookie is "the real deal"........

what more does he have to say to tell you what you just questioned...

If he wants to call a WNBA, Soccer, Cricket, or any thing else a near GOY, thats his way of saying he likes the game a lot.......

Geez-----Untested---did he come straight from Little League, or maybe he pitched in College, and the Minors, and they see something in him........

Untested in the Majors is no big deal.......All the Pitchers today, and all the Hall of Fame Pitchers, at one time or other were untested (as you say).......they all had a first game, and lots of em came up heralded........

Example---Duke for Pittsburgh came out strong, as did many others........he's fading of late, but came out strong.........

First time the Major Leaguers see him also.....something new.......

It looks like you are not alone Kaz. The line move on this game was the biggest so far today. I like playing rookie pitchers in their first game, IF they are at home. The crowd can help him get over any jitters.

It is one thing to say you like a game a lot, but another to say/imply that of all the thousands of games being played, that a rookie pitcher who has NEVER pitched in the big leagues is the best bet of the entire season;I am interpreting the term GOY literally to mean just this and that there would be no other GOY'S.
I wasn't challenging the pick at all, but just expressing an opinion that I thought the use of word GOY was just a bit too strong if one considers what the word in its true sense implies.
I meant no offense but was merely asking a legitimate question relative to the rating of the game.

I guess you were right Savage and my apologies for the poor pick. I like betting rookie pitchers in their first major league start. I will refer to Jared Weaver and The Dodgers Billingsley. Both won their debut's this year. This kid had great numbers in triple A for two years and I liked that he was from Ohio. I did not call it a game of the year, but I said for ME, this was as close as it gets. I didn't ask you to bet it, just posting what I played and how I played it....I gave the same information I read and left it up to anyone to make their own decision. That's why the write up and not just throwing a pick out there....Sorry again for the poor pick. I lost plenty....
