  • CFB Poll: Minnesota @ Tulsa (9/1)

Wanted to add this one to the list as it's a late one on ESPN2.. Found these stats on Minny inside and out of the dome:

    Home: 5-1 38.5 ppg 15.8 papg Opponent’s Record: 32-27
    Road: 1-4 22.0 ppg 32.4 papg Opponent’s Record: 30-28

I think Tulsa stays within 14.5 and the game goes over.. Tulsa adds the #1 recruiting class in CUSA and returns the 2nd best runningback in the conference behind DeAngelo Williams, as well as the best kick returner in the country, who will get his chances in this one.. Similar to Tulsa's game against Boise last year, I see a 45-42 type game here..

I'll be surprised if tulsa scores more than 17 pts. This minn. team looks like it will be better than last years. What about last time these two met?(03') Can't say for sure but I think it was something like 45-10?

The score was 49-10 in 2003 when these teams played in Minnesota.. Considering that last year Minny averaged 16 fewer points scored and 17 more points allowed on the road as compared to home, then a direct comparison to 2003 would yield a 33-27 Minnesota win in Tulsa.. Minnesota's defense was last in the conference and 109th in the nation in pass defense allowing 266 yards per game last year. Tulsa's run defense was last in their conference and 106th in the nation last year. Both teams should have no problems scoring points.
