I voted for Clemens here. He is still one of my favorites and to do what he has done at this age and for so long is AMAZING to me.

Johnson = Not enough wins and plays for the worst team in baseball.

Oswalt = Hurt for awhile and inconsistent at times lately.

Pavano = Simply not finishing strong enough down the stretch!

I vote for Clemens also. I live in Houston and have had the pleasure to watch him in person over this season...simply amazing to be able to do what he is doing at that young age.

          N.L. Cy Young

Without a doubt - SHAWN CHACON

if you don't believe me ask GoldVike

          -cb ( ~wink )

          - I also gave careful consideration to Elmer Dessens.

I would have to agree strongly with you

            Heres why:

            Shawn Chacon: Pitching
Chacon faced the challenge of having to make the team last spring and responded by becoming the Rockies' No. 1 pitcher when he was healthy. He has a fastball that's a steady 92-94 MPH and that he is able to spot effectively. He has a plus changeup. Most importantly, though, Chacon has a quality curveball which he throws with success at Coors Field. He doesn't know any better. He grew up in Greeley, about 50 miles north of Denver, and that's where he learned to throw the pitch, altitude notwithstanding. He also can throw a slider, but it's definitely a secondary pitch. He has begun to replace that pitch with a cutter that he runs in on the hands of lefthanded hitters

              It's Bill

              I know , Bill

              He's got that certain something.

I'm both surprised and disappointed that of all the pitchers out there Wayne did not include him in the voting.

How can one possibly overlook Shawn Chacon for the CY ?
