    — Dolphins put QB Tua Tagovailoa (ribs) on IR.
    — Phillies 3, Pirates 0— 98-pitch CG for Ranger Suarez.
    — New York 5, Boston 3— Stanton hit grand slam in 8th inning.
    — A’s 2, Astros 1— Starling Marte with a walk-off RBI double
    — Reds 7, Nationals 6— Nick Castellanos hit a walk-off homer.
    — Braves 10, Padres 8 (10)— Jorge Soler had three hits, four RBI.

    13) NC State 27, Clemson 21 OT:
    — State was 11-21 on 3rd down, Clemson 2-10.
    — Tigers were only 12-24 for 111 yards passing.
    — Wolfpack missed a 37-yard FG on last play of regulation.
    — State outgained Clemson, 386-214

    12) Oregon State 45, USC 27:
    — Beavers win in LA Coliseum for first time since 1960.
    — They had lost 24 straight games at USC.
    — Oregon State ran ball for 322 yards, outgain USC 535-431.
    — They can’t blame this one on Clay Helton.

    11) Louisville 31, Florida State 23:
    — Seminoles are 0-4, with a loss to a I-AA team.
    — Florida State has allowed 35.7 ppg vs I-A teams.
    — Louisville was 10-20 on 3rd down, FSU 5-16.

    10) Boston College 41, Missouri 34, OT
    — Eagles scored TD with 0:25 left to take 34-31 lead.
    — Mizzou kicked a 56-yard FG at gun to force OT.
    — BC ran ball 49 times for 275 yards.

    9) LSU 28, Mississippi State 25:
    — LSU had TD passes of 64-58-41 yards.
    — Miss State outgained Tigers 486-343, but they were terrible in red zone.
    — Last year, Bulldogs threw for 623 yards, beat LSU 44-34.
    — LSU QB Johnson is son of former NFL QB Brad Johnson.

    8) SMU 42, TCU 34:
    — Mustangs won last two weeks, despite allowing 71 points.
    — Total yardage: SMU 595, TCU 446- SMU ran for 350 yards.
    — SMU QB Mordecai was a backup at Oklahoma.

    7) Upsets of the Day:
    — Bowling Green (+30.5) 14, Minnesota 10
    — UL-Monroe (+23) 29, Troy 16
    — Georgia Tech (+14.5) 45, North Carolina 22
    — NC State (+10.5) 27, Clemson 21 OT
    — SMU (+9.5) 42, TCU 34
    — Baylor (+7) 31, Iowa State 29
    — Notre Dame (+6) 41, Wisconsin 13

    Close calls:
    — Oklahoma (-17.5) 16, West Virginia 13— Sooners kicked FG at the gun.
    — Wyoming (-31.5) 24, UConn 22— Huskies missed 2-point play with 0:04 left.
    — Auburn (-27) 34, Georgia State 24— Score is deceiving; Auburn converted a 4th-and-9 for go-ahead TD with 0:45 left, then scored on a pick-6 with 0:31 left.
    — Purdue (-10.5) 13, Illinois 9
    — Buffalo (-13) 35, Old Dominion 34
    — Central Michigan (-12) 31, FIU 27— Chippewas trailed 27-10 in 4th quarter.

    6) Arkansas 20, Texas A&M 10:
    — Razorbacks are 4-0, with decisive wins over Aggies, Texas.
    — Arkansas outgained A&M. 443-272.
    — Aggies have QB issues; they were 4-14 on 3rd down, threw for only 151 yards.

    5) Baylor 31, Iowa State 29:
    — Cyclones scored with 0:24 left, but 2-point play failed.
    — Iowa State outgained Baylor, 469-282; turnovers were even.

    4) Tex-San Antonio 31, Memphis 28:
    — Roadrunners outscored Memphis 17-0 in 4th quarter.
    — UTSA kicked 42-yard FG at the gun, for the win.
    — Memphis led 21-0 after the first quarter, 21-7 at halftime.

    3) Boise State 27, Utah State 3:
    — This game started at noon ET, 10am in Utah.
    — Teams are that desperate for TV exposure that they’ll play at 10am?
    — Pregame meals had to be at 6am; can’t be fun for players.

    2) Bowling Green (+30.5) 14, Minnesota 10:
    — Biggest upset by I-A team since 2012 (Texas St +35 over Houston)
    — Minnesota had won 21 consecutive non-league games.
    — Gophers completed only 5-13 passes for 59 yards; no bueno.
    — Total yardage 241-192, Minnesota.

    1) Cardinals 8, Cubs 5:
    — St Louis has won 15 games in a row.
    — Longest win streak in majors since Indians won 22 in row in 2017.
