    Armadillo: Sunday's Den: Wrapping up a sports Saturday

    13) USC 43, UCLA 38:
    — Trojans beat their crosstown rivals for 5th time in six years.
    — USC trailed this game 28-10; three of their five wins are by 5 or fewer points.
    — USC drove 43 yards in 0:36, scoring game-winning TD with 0:16 left.
    — UCLA had taken the lead on a 43-yard FG with 0:51 left.

    12) Utah 38, Colorado 21— Ohio State-Michigan got cancelled, so this game got moved to the noon slot, which meant a 10am local time kickoff on a snowy day in Boulder.

    Colorado’s loss put USC in the Pac-12 title game, even before the Trojans beat UCLA.

    11) Ball State 30, Western Michigan 27:
    — Cardinals win MAC West, play Buffalo for MAC title next week.
    — WMU led 27-13 after three quarters; big comeback for the Cardinals, who scored two TD’s 1:05 apart early in 4th quarter, then kicked game-winning FG with 0:29 left.

    10) LSU 37, Florida 34:
    — Tigers kicked a 57-yard FG with 0:23 left.
    — Florida missed a 51-yard FG wide left at the gun.
    — Gators outgained LSU 609-418, but were minus-5 in turnovers.

    9) North Carolina 62, Miami 26:
    — Tar Heels ran ball for 554 yards; Michael Carter had 308 of them.
    — UNC gained total of 778 yards; Miami allowed a total of 539 yards in their last two games, combined.

    8) Coastal Carolina 42, Troy 38:
    — Chanticleers drove 75 yards in 0:45, scored game-winning TD with 0:35 left to avoid an upset that would’ve ruined their undefeated season.
    — Coastal led 14-0 after 6:27 of play, but this final score won’t impress any of the pollsters.

    7) Army 15, Navy 0:
    — This rivalry game stayed under total for 15th year in a row .
    — This was first time since World War II the game was played at West Point.

    6) Memphis 30, Houston 27:
    — Memphis kicked a 47-yard FG at the gun for the win.
    — Tigers led 27-6 after three quarters; Houston tied game with 0:28 left.

    5) College football upsets:
    — LSU (+23) 37, Florida 34
    — Minnesota (+9.5) 24, Nebraska 17
    — Southern Miss (+9.5) 35, Florida Atlantic 31
    — Memphis (+4.5) 30, Houston 27

    4) Dayton 85, Mississippi State 82, 2 OT:
    — Bulldogs went 9-22 on foul line and lost by 3; no bueno.
    — Miss State led by 8 early in second half.
    — Three guys on Dayton played 48 out of 50:00.

    3) Missouri 81, Illinois 78:
    — Mizzou will likely join Tennessee as only SEC teams in top 25.
    — This was first time since late 70’s this annual matchup wasn’t played in St Louis.
    — Tigers were 26-31 on foul line, Illinois 17-28.

    2) Notre Dame 64, Kentucky 63:
    — Kentucky has now lost four games in a row.
    — Notre Dame was up 22 at the half; Kentucky had an open 15-footer at the buzzer for the win.
    — Wildcats were 5-23 on arc, 4-6 on line; they lack perimeter shooting.

    1) Villanova 76, Georgetown 63:
    — 12-point dog Hoyas were up 18 in first half Friday night; they didn’t even cover.
    — Villanova was 15-39 on the arc, 10-21 inside arc.
    — Since Big East reorganized few years ago, Villanova is 104-23 in Big East games.
