The model had a miserable final week to 2019. Too many last minute player scratches, and way too many back-to-back sets where load-management concerns effect not only starting line-ups but how teams approach defensive aggressiveness. Hopefully, a new year means getting back on track.
Happy New Year to all and Good Luck.
FWIW – Below are the season records of how teams have fared against the spread and straight up in the second game of back-to-back sets. Notable, IMO, are Charlotte, a team which routinely covers, despite losing, and Denver, who win more than losing, but haven’t yet covered. Things like opposition, bench strength and load management philosophy play a big role in back-to-back consideration, which means knowing a team – its strengths and tendencies – job one.
