New Orleans G Lonzo Ball is dealing with a right adductor strain and has been ruled out of this game. These two squads rank in the top three in tempo and the bottom five in defensive efficiency, so the over is worth a look. The stronger play is on the Rockets to cover the number.

The Pacers found their mojo after losing four of their first five games of the season. Malcolm Brogdon looks great at PG, and he’s a serious reinforcement for the Pacers whose offense play very well. Their defense is a slight issue without Myles Turner in the lineup, but the Pacers still have room for improvement on the defensive end. On the other side, the Thunder are certainly disappointed after a narrow loss to the Bucks. They play solid defense but struggle on the offensive end, so I expect them to have problems against the Pacers’ aggressive approach.

Portland Trail Blazers @ Milwaukee Bucks

Portland is playing their third game in four nights here and they are missing their leader in Lillard. The Trail Blazers are off to a dismal start to the year: with Lillard missing and Whiteside in addition to Simons questionable, it puts a lot on the shoulders of McCollum to try and carry the team. While the Bucks are playing the second game of a back to back here and are minus Middleton, they have the reigning MVP and a deep rotation to lean on. The Bucks are 3-1 at home while Portland is 4-6 on the road. Antetokounmpo leads Milwaukee to the win at home.

This will be another night of 35-plus 3-point attempts with Ayton still serving a suspension and Baynes being out of the game with a hip injury. The Suns currently lack the personnel to get their scoring offense going in the paint. Yet, their ability to knock down shots from long distance will quickly put those concerns to rest on Thursday. Give me the Suns in a much-needed bounce-back victory.

The Cavaliers are playing in a poor form, and this is a golden opportunity for the Trail Blazers to finally break out of their funk. Cleveland’s defense has been terrible lately and will continue to struggle against the Blazers who will likely have Damian Lillard back. Also, the Cavs’ offense shouldn’t be much of a problem for the Trail Blazers’ fragile D. The only thing I’m worried about is the Blazers’ thin frontcourt that could have some problems with Kevin Love and Tristan Thompson. However, the Trail Blazers had one day to rest, while the Cavaliers will play back-to-back, coming off a heavy loss. Give me the visitors to cover.
