    Armadillo: Saturday's six-pack

    Updated Super Bowl odds:

    6-1: New England Patriots

    8-1: Pittsburgh Steelers, Philadelphia Eagles

    10-1: Los Angeles Rams

    12-1: Minnesota Vikings

14-1: Green Bay Packers, Los Angeles Chargers

18-1: New Orleans Saints, Jacksonville Jaguars

    **********

Armadillo: Saturday's List of 13: Random stuff with weekend here……

    13) Angels 5, Mariners 0— Albert Pujols becomes the 32nd player to get 3,000 hits; Pujols is only the fourth player in history with 3,000 hits and 600 home runs.

    12) Dodgers 4, Padres 0— Rookie Walker Buehler and three LA relievers combined to no-hit the Padres in a game played in Monterrey, Mexico. It was only Buehler’s third career start.

    11) Pelicans 119, Warriors 100— Rajon Rondo had 21 assists, 10 rebounds in one of the greatest games ever by someone who scored only four points in that game. Golden State still leads this series 2-1; home side won all three games.

    10) If David Ortiz gets in the Hall of Fame when his time comes, then Edgar Martinez damn sure better get in the HOF with him. There are no DH’s in the Hall of Fame, but playing in a media capital shouldn’t give you an advantage over a player who played on the west coast. Edgar Martinez was also a great hitter, and he didn’t have any PED-related issues.

    9) Indians split a doubleheader with Toronto Thursday, scoring 11/13 runs; they’re first team since the ’93 Cardinals to split a twinbill despite scoring 11+ runs in both games.

    8) Rockets 113, Jazz 92— Houston led 70-40 at halftime. Not good for TV ratings.

    7) Mock me if you like, but I’ve never seen Star Wars or The Godfather.

However, I’ve seen Moneyball a countless number of times, as well as Blue Chips, The Bodyguard and Rounders more times than you think would be normal.

    6) The mother of Clippers’ guard Patrick Beverley was a contestant on The Price Is Right this week; she won two cars and a trip to Madagascar (I had to look it up on MapQuest to find out where the hell it is), a total winnings of $41,000.

    5) Mets are going to DFA Matt Harvey Saturday, meaning that New York has 10 days to trade him, and if they can’t, he gets released. Harvey is 29 and has a 7.00 ERA in 27 innings so far this season.

    4) A’s 6, Orioles 4— Baltimore had Mancini, Chris Davis, Trumbo, Alvarez, Valencia in their lineup Friday; basically, five DH’s. They made three errors in this game and fell to 8-24.

    3) Astros 8, Diamondbacks 1— Gerrit Cole threw a one-hitter, struck out 16 D’Backs.

    2) Peter Malnati leads the Wells Fargo golf tournament after two rounds; he has one Tour win, the 2016 Sanderson Farms tournament, which accounts for much of his $2,611,198 in career earnings. On the Interweb, all that matters it that Eldrick Woods made the cut by two shots.

    1) Starting pitchers who induce the highest %age of swings/misses:
    NL: Corbin 38.7%, Scherzer 35.1%, Ray 34.9%, deGrom 33.2%
    AL: Ohtani 36.6%, Clevinger 35.3%, Cole 34.6%, Paxton 33.4%

Saturday's NBA Playoffs betting preview and odds

Round 2 of the NBA Playoffs continues Saturday, as a pair of Eastern Conference teams look to take a 3-0 stranglehold in their respective series. The 76ers are hoping home court is just what they need to bounce back, while the Raps head to Cleveland down 0-2 hoping to avoid another playoff disappointment.

      Boston Celtics at Philadelphia 76ers (-9, 206)

      Celtics lead series 2-0

The Boston Celtics look to open up a commanding 3-0 series lead when they visit the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday in the Eastern Conference semifinals. Philadelphia was in good position to even the series when it led Game 2 by 22 points but Boston rallied to post an impressive 108-103 victory.

      TV: 5 p.m. ET, ESPN

SERIES PRICE (PER WILLIAM HILL US):

BETTING ACTION AND LINE MOVES: Despite dropping the first two games, the 76ers have opened Game 3 on their home court as healthy 9-point favorites. And while the public is hammering the Celtics at that number (75 percent of wagers according to our consensus), there seems to be enough balanced action to keep the line at the opening number. The total has seen more action. Since opening at 208 it has been bet down to 206 even though Games 1 and 2 easily went Over similar totals. This movement seems to be sharp action with 73 percent of pubilc wagers on the Over.

      INJURY REPORT:

Celtics - PG Kyrie Irving (Out, knee), SF Gordon Hayward (Out, ankle), PF Daniel Theis (Out, knee).

      76ers - SG Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot (Out, knee).

ABOUT THE CELTICS (61-30, 57-32-2 ATS, 50-40-1 O/U): The Celtics appear to be in good shape as they are 36-0 all-time when holding a 2-0 lead in a seven-game series. Small forward Jayson Tatum is averaging 24.5 points over the first two games of the series, while Shooting guard Jaylen Brown scored 13 points in 25 minutes off the bench after missing the series opener with a hamstring injury.

ABOUT THE 76ERS (56-33, 51-36-2 ATS, 45-43-1 O/U): Philadelphia is 0-11 all-time when dropping the first two contests of a seven-game playoff series. Rookie point guard Ben Simmons experienced a disastrous time in Game 2 as he had just one point while committing five turnovers. Star center Joel Embiid had 20 points and 14 rebounds for his fourth consecutive double-double but was just 8-of-22 shooting.

      MATCHUP CHART:

      TRENDS:

      * Celtics are 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings.
      * 76ers are 21-7 ATS in their last 28 home games.
      * Over is 13-3 in Celtics last 16 overall.
      * Over is 4-0 in 76ers last fiyr games following a ATS loss.
      * Underdog is 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings.

Toronto Raptors at Cleveland Cavaliers (-4.5, 216)

      Cavaliers lead series 2-0

LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers once again have the Toronto Raptors on the ropes and they will try to deliver another damaging blow in the one-sided rivalry when the teams meet for Game 3 of their Eastern Conference semifinal series on Saturday. The Cavaliers took both games at top-seeded Toronto to begin the series and seek to extend their postseason winning streak versus the Raptors to nine straight games - all in the past three seasons.

      TV: 8:30 p.m. ET, ABC

SERIES PRICE (PER WILLIAM HILL US):

BETTING ACTION AND LINE MOVES: The Cavaliers opened Game 3 as 4-point home favorites and were quickly bet to the current number of 4.5, which isn't too surprising considering nearly 60 percent of public wagers on the Cavs according to our Covers Consensus. The total has been bet down one point to the current number of 216, despite 66 percent of wagers on the Over, indicating sharp action on the Under.

INJURY REPORT: No injuries to report.

ABOUT THE RAPTORS (63-27, 47-42-1 ATS, 46-43-1 O/U): After winning a franchise-record 59 games during the regular season while earning the top seed in the East for the first time, Toronto is quickly searching for answers as it heads to Cleveland. Led by DeRozan (24 points) and Kyle Lowry (21), the Raptors shot 54.3 percent but they offered little resistance at the other end while forcing just three turnovers, giving the Cavaliers a 24-8 advantage in that category this series.

ABOUT THE CAVALIERS (56-35, 35-55-1 ATS, 43-46-2 O/U): James collected 43 points - his fourth game of 40-plus points this postseason - and tied a playoff career high with 14 assists in a resounding 128-110 victory on Thursday for a 2-0 series lead. James hasn't needed much help during the playoffs, but he was given a boost in Game 2 with a breakout effort for big man Kevin Love. After averaging 10.9 points on 31.9 percent shooting through the first eight playoff games, the veteran had 31 points on 11-of-21 shooting in Thursday's win.

      MATCHUP CHART:

      TRENDS:

      * Raptors are 2-8-1 ATS in their last 11 games playing on one days rest.
      * Cavaliers are 9-1-1 ATS in their last 11 Conference Semifinals games.
      * Over is 8-1 in Raptors last nine Conference Semifinals games.
      * Under is 8-2 in Cavaliers last 10 home games.
      * Raptors are 0-4 ATS in the last 4 meetings in Cleveland.
