    Armadillo: Sunday's six-pack

    — Chiefs drafted Kahlil McKenzie, whose dad is the Oakland Raiders’ GM. That will make two days of the year very awkward for Mrs McKenzie.

    — Cubs, White Sox both pitched a shutout Saturday; first time they both hurled shutout on same day since August 29, 2011.

    — Buffalo Bills drafted WR Austin Proehl, whose dad Ricky won a Super Bowl with the Rams.

    — Celtics 112, Bucks 96— Home team won all seven games in this series.

    — Boston College junior G Jerome Robinson will stay in NBA draft, bad news for the Eagles.

    — When Jose Altuve originally signed with Houston, his bonus was $15,000. This year, he is making $55,555.55…….a game. It’ll be triple that starting in 2020.

    **********

Armadillo: Sunday's List of 13: Wrapping up a sports Saturday……

    13) The Interweb has so many NFL mock drafts in the months before this weekend, you should know this: Of the 100 draft picks Thursday/Friday, 51 of those picks were traded before the pick was eventually used to select a player.

Kind of hard to pinpoint who is going where when the picks get traded so much.

    12) Remember the Tom Cruise movie Jerry Maguire, when Cruise played a sports agent? The actor who played the GM of Arizona Cardinals was singer Glenn Frey of the Eagles.

    11) Alabama had 12 players taken in the this year’s draft; NC State/Ohio State were next, with 7 each. Seven players taken in one draft is an NC State record.

    10) Alabama punter JK Scott was drafted by Green Bay; his agent is Alexa Stabler, daughter of the late Hall of Fame QB/Alabama alum Ken Stabler.

    9) This from an NFL source about LSU RB Derrius Guice, who the Redskins drafted:

”He got into an altercation at a meeting with the Eagles. He had several meetings where he came across lazy only wants to play video games. We caught a direct dishonesty from him in our meeting.”

Guice disputes that story, but apparently lot of teams believed it; he dropped to the 59th pick.

    8) White Sox 3B Matt Davidson has seven homers at Kauffman Stadium this season; thats the most by any visiting player EVER in one season at Kauffman Stadium, and it isn’t May yet.

    7) Thunder vs Utah with Carmelo Anthony on-court: 194 minutes, -58

Thunder vs Utah with Carmelo Anthony off-court: 94 minutes, +32

    Sometimes life is simple.

    6) Arizona Diamondbacks won their first eight series this year, the first team since the 2001 Seattle Mariners to do that, and first NL team since the ’77 Dodgers.

    5) Earl Anthony was one of the best bowlers of all-time; turns out the lefty with a crew cut was once offered a $35,000 bonus to pitch in the Orioles farm system, but he turned them down.

    4) Utah Jazz PG Ricky Rubio strained his hamstring in the clinching win over Oklahoma City, and will be out 7-10 days, bad news for the Jazz as they take on the Houston Rockets.

    3) As I’m writing this, a teenager in a t-shirt and gym shorts just read the Packers’ draft pick. Don’t be afraid to get dressed up, son. You’re on national TV.

    2) Colts had four 2nd-round picks this year, first team since the ’09 Patriots to have four 2nd-round picks in the same draft.

    1) Washington Nationals’ rookie manager Dave Martinez messed up Saturday; Arizona was going to send up PH Chris Owings in the top of the 10th inning in a 3-3 game, so Martinez went out and removed his lefty reliever so a righty could face Owings. One small problem…….

Martinez took the pitcher out before the pinch-hitter Owings was announced, so Arizona left the lefty batter Dyson in the game to face the righty reliever. A pitcher has to face one batter before he can be taken out; the pinch-hitter isn’t officially “in the game” until the PA announcer says his name over the PA system.

Owings walked and then the next batter walked and Arizona won 4-3. No bueno.

Sunday's NBA Playoffs betting preview and odds

We get treated to the two greatest words in sports on Sunday afternoon. "Game 7". The Pacers and Cavalier conclude the first round of the the NBA Playoffs with play a win or go home contest, while the Jazz and Rockets tip off their Western Conference semifinal.

Indiana Pacers at Cleveland Cavaliers (-5.5, 199)

          Series tied 3-3

The momentum boost provided by LeBron James with a last-second shot in a Game 5 win did not carry over for the Cleveland Cavaliers, and now they are facing a do-or-die Game 7. The three-time defending Eastern Conference champion Cavaliers will try to avoid a first-round exit when they host the Indiana Pacers in Game 7 on Sunday.

          TV: 1 p.m. ET, ABC

SERIES PRICE (PER PINNACLE): Off the board.

LINE MOVES AND BETTING ACTION: The Cavs opened the must-win Game 7 as 5.5-point home faves and were bet up to -6, before coming back down to the opening number. That's probaly due to the fact the Pacers are seeing a whopping 72 percent of wagers for this contest according to our consensus. The total hit the board at an even 200 and is down to the current number of 199, which may indicate some sharp money on the Under with 65 percent of wagers on the Over.

          INJURY REPORT:

Pacers - No injuries to report.

Cavaliers - PG George Hill (Questionable, back).

ABOUT THE PACERS (51-37, 52-36 ATS, 33-54-1 O/U): The Pacers enjoyed their most complete game of the series in Game 6 while shooting 56.3 percent from the floor and forcing 15 turnovers. All-Star guard Victor Oladipo went 12-of-50 from the field in Games 3, 4 and 5 combined but brushed his shooting troubles away in Game 6 while recording a triple-double with 28 points on 11-of-19 shooting, 13 rebounds and 10 assists. Oladipo was one of seven Pacers players to score in double figures in the win and went 6-of-8 from beyond the arc to lead the team's 15-of-30 effort.

ABOUT THE CAVALIERS (53-35, 33-54-1 O/U, 40-46-2 O/U): Cleveland went into Indiana on Friday and got rocked 121-87 with a chance to close out the series. James was the only starter to score in double figures with 22 points on Friday as fellow All-Star Kevin Love managed seven points on 3-of-10 shooting. Love is averaging 11 points on 32.4 percent shooting in the series after posting 17.6 points on 45.8 percent during the regular season. Shooting guard Kyle Korver is 11-of-22 from 3-point range over the last three games.

          MATCHUP CHART:

          TRENDS:

          * Pacers are 4-0 ATS in their last four road games.
          * Cavaliers are 1-6 ATS in their last seven games overall.
          * Under is 8-1-1 in Pacers last 10 vs. a team with a winning SU record.
          * Under is 7-1-1 in Cavaliers last 9 vs. a team with a winning SU record.
          * Under is 7-1-1 in the last 9 meetings.

Utah Jazz at Houston Rockets (-11.5, 207)

The Houston Rockets dominated Utah in four meetings during the regular season, but most of the encounters came before the Jazz turned their campaign around. Utah continued its late-season run with a six-game triumph over Oklahoma City in the first round of the playoffs and they will try to give the top-seeded Rockets a test in the Western Conference semifinals, beginning with Game 1 on Sunday in Houston.

          TV: 3:30 p.m. ET, ABC

          SERIES PRICE (PER PINNACLE):

LINE MOVES AND BETTING ACTION: The Rockets hit the board as about a 10-point home favorite for Game 1 and they were quickly bet as high as -11.5. It appears sharp action is the cause for the move as 68 percent of wagers are backing the Jazz according to our consensus. The total opened at 206 and is up to 207, with 76 percent of wagers on the Over.

          INJURY REPORT:

Jazz - PG Ricky Rubio (Out, hamstring), SF Thabo Sefolosha (Out, knee).

Rockets - PF Luc Mbah a Moute (Questionable, shoulder).

ABOUT THE JAZZ (52-36, 46-42 ATS, 42-45-1 O/U): Rookie Donovan Mitchell scored 38 points to lift the fifth-seeded Jazz to the 96-91 win in the clincher on Friday at home. Utah did not escape the first round unscathed as point guard Rubio left Friday's win with a hamstring injury in the first quarter. Reports surfaced Saturday that suggested Rubio - who averaged 14 points, 7.3 rebounds and seven assists in the series - could miss up to 10 days. Joe Ingles averaged 14.2 points while making 46.7 percent of his 3-point attempts in the series with Oklahoma City and he stepped up his play-making when Rubio departed to produce a team-high five.

ABOUT THE ROCKETS (69-18, 44-42-1 ATS, 36-50-1 O/U): Houston needed five games to get past the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round and it found its offense by averaging 120.5 points in the final two games. Harden averaged 29 points and 7.4 assists while Paul posted 19 points and 6.6 assists per contest in the series for the Rockets, who lost the last four times they faced Utah in the playoffs - the most recent encounter coming in 2008. Veteran forward Luc Mbah a Moute missed the first round due to a dislocated right shoulder but the key reserve hopes to return for Game 1 against the Jazz. A big part of Houston's success in the first round was center Clint Capela, who averaged 15.8 points on 67.3 percent shooting, 14.2 rebounds and two blocked shots against Minnesota.
