  • Preview: Jazz (30-35) at Kings (25-39)
    Date: March 13, 2016 6:00 PM EDT

The likelihood of long-term harmony between Sacramento Kings All-Star DeMarcus Cousins and George Karl appeared poor almost from the start of the veteran coach's tenure last season.

The relationship hit another bump this past week, but the two have worked well enough together against the Utah Jazz to produce wins in each of this season's two meetings.

Cousins will try to help deal another blow to the Jazz's playoff hopes in his return from a one-game suspension Sunday.

The friction between Karl and Cousins is what reportedly led to rumors that the big man was set to be traded this past offseason. The Kings decided to keep him, and he has rewarded them with a career-best 27.4 points per game.

Cousins, however, also had a reported run-in with his coach in the locker room after a 106-88 loss to San Antonio on Nov. 9. His disagreement with Karl in a 120-111 loss to Cleveland on Wednesday was out in the open, on the Kings' bench.

That brought a response the next day from general manager Vlade Divac, who announced the suspension for "conduct detrimental to the team."

'When you lose games, frustration evolves in many ways. Sometimes it crosses a line," said Karl, who was rumored to be on the way out of Sacramento last month. "Hopefully we can communicate, and he gets to a good place."

Without Cousins, who was averaging 33.3 points in his last three contests, Sacramento (25-39) lost for the eighth time in nine games Friday. A 107-100 defeat to Orlando was also the team's season-high fifth straight at home.

"I don't think it's doomsday," Karl said. "I think it's still a team that has an ability to play better basketball, maybe a more complete 48 minutes."

Kosta Koufos tried to make up for Cousins' absence with a season-high 19 points on 8-of-10 shooting off the bench. Rudy Gay, meanwhile, had one of his worst games of the season, missing seven of nine shots from the field and committing six turnovers.

Gay has keyed Sacramento winning both matchups with Utah. He had 24 points, including the go-ahead shot with 0.9 seconds left, in a 103-101 victory Jan. 14 and scored 23 on 10-of-13 shooting in a 114-106 home win Dec. 8.

Cousins had 36 points and 17 rebounds in the last meeting, helping put the Kings in position to sweep the season series for the first time since 2001-02.

The Jazz (30-35) have lost 10 of 14 overall to fall from seventh to ninth in the Western Conference but topped Washington 114-93 on Friday.

Shelvin Mack scored a career-high 27 points on 11-of-17 shooting, and Utah connected at 56.7 percent for its second-best showing this season. Mack had shot 27.7 percent in the previous five games and averaged 10.2 points in his first 10 after being acquired from Atlanta on Feb. 18.

"I felt like I was a little more aggressive. I have kind of been in a shooting slump, but the best way to get out of it is to keep shooting," Mack said. "It's the NBA. To make it in this league, you have to keep grinding."

    • Preview: Bucks (28-38) at Nets (18-47)
      Date: March 13, 2016 8:00 PM EDT

Jason Kidd has lost just once in six meetings against his former team since getting traded from the Brooklyn Nets to the Milwaukee Bucks in the summer of 2014.

A sweep of the Nets would be of small consolation for the coach in what has been a miserable season for both sides.

Kidd and the last-place Bucks seek their third win in a row overall and fourth straight over the woeful Nets on Sunday night at Barclays Center, where Brooklyn will play for the first time in three weeks.

Kidd's first head coaching gig was with the Nets in 2013-14 and resulted in a 44-38 record and sixth seed in the playoffs, where they upset Toronto before getting ousted by eventual Finals runner-up Miami in five games.

It proved to be a short stay in Brooklyn for Kidd, who sought more control over the team in the offseason and was subsequently traded to the Bucks for two second-round draft picks.

While the Nets (18-47) have regressed since and are better than only Philadelphia in the Eastern Conference, Milwaukee has backslid from a promising 2014-15 into this season's disappointing 28-38 mark.

The Bucks are clinging to their postseason hopes, though, behind consecutive wins despite needing to leapfrog four teams for the eighth spot, which they trail by six with 16 to play.

The NBA gods seem to be against letting them make a serious run.

While John Henson returned to practice last week for the first time in more than a month since injuring his back, O.J. Mayo was lost for the season after breaking his ankle going down a flight of stairs at his home Thursday - the same day Michael Carter-Williams underwent season-ending surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left hip.

Another obstacle is playing the second game of a back-to-back in Brooklyn after Saturday's 103-92 home win over New Orleans. The Bucks, who are 8-26 away from home, will have to deal with the switch to daylight saving time and traveling into the Eastern time zone.

'I think the league is testing us to see how we can handle back-to-back (games) while losing two hours,' Kidd said.

This will be Kidd's third trip back to Barclays Center, where he heard a mixture of boos and cheers in a 103-96 win on Nov. 2. Five days later, the Bucks rolled to a 94-86 victory over the Nets in Milwaukee.

Jerryd Bayless averages only 10.9 points for the Bucks this season, but he went for a season-high 26 in the first meeting and followed it with 19 and 10 assists in the second. Bayless had 17 points Saturday in his second game back in the starting lineup following Mayo's injury.

The two losses to Milwaukee were part of a 0-7 start to the season for Brooklyn, and things have only gotten marginally better since.

After a 6-6 stretch from Feb. 5-March 4, the Nets have dropped three straight - including Friday's 95-89 loss at the 76ers to close a season-high nine-game road trip 3-6.

Philadelphia is 2-18 since Jan. 27, both wins coming against Brooklyn.

While the 76ers are the NBA's third-worst defensive team at 107.3 points per game allowed, Milwaukee is a bit better at 103.1. The Bucks held the Pelicans to 39.3 percent shooting while forcing 16 turnovers - their seventh straight game turning over opponents at least that many times.

      • Preview: Knicks (27-40) at Lakers (14-52)
        Date: March 13, 2016 9:30 PM EDT

Coming off a strong performance against LeBron James, Kobe Bryant gets one final crack at another NBA superstar while his former coach looks on.

With Phil Jackson in attendance, Bryant tries to help prevent Carmelo Anthony and the visiting New York Knicks from sweeping a second consecutive season series from his Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday night.

In one of the more memorable moments to his final season, Bryant scored 26 points and shot a season-best 11 of 16 in Thursday's 120-108 loss to Cleveland. Though Los Angeles (14-52) failed to match a season-high three-game winning streak, Bryant slightly got the best of James (24 points, 9-of-18 shooting) while scoring his most points in 10 contests.

"It was fun to watch," Lakers coach Byron Scott said. "It seemed like Kobe had a flashback for himself."

The attention now turns to New York (27-40), which looks to bounce back from Friday's 101-94 loss to the Clippers in the same building.

"Bumping Carmelo," said Bryant, who last took the court in back-to-back contests while playing 10 straight Jan. 31-Feb. 24. "He's a bear, man. I'm going to look forward to matching up with him. It's going to be fun."

It's likely also the final chance Jackson, the Knicks president, gets to watch the guy he coached to five NBA titles.

"Obviously I know what they are going to be running," Bryant joked in reference to the Knicks' triangle offense used by interim coach Kurt Rambis, who played for and coached the Lakers.

"I'll probably help Carmelo out and tell him where to go in certain spots on the floor."

Averaging 26.9 points against the Knicks, Bryant missed four straight matchups before scoring 18 and going 2 of 10 from 3-point range in a 99-95 loss at Madison Square Garden on Nov. 8. Anthony scored 24 to help New York to a third consecutive victory in the series.

After that contest, the two friends and Olympic teammates shared a lengthy embrace.

'I told him, I said it's not going to feel the same with him being gone,' said Anthony, who more frequently dueled with Bryant while playing his first seven-plus seasons in Denver.

'Him helping me kind of throughout my career, being that guy I can talk to, it's not going to be the same.'

Though Jackson and Bryant have had their issues, the two seem to be in a better place. Jackson applauds the way an ailing Bryant has handled playing his final season for a team that won't make the playoffs.

"He's done it gracefully," Jackson said. "I think he's been appreciated by the fans. ... It will be interesting and fun to be here."

With Jackson in Los Angeles, conflicting reports about him possibly returning to the Lakers in some capacity were naturally revisited. Jackson's fiancee Jeanie Buss is part-owner and president of the Lakers.

"The energy I have is directed toward turning (the Knicks) around," said Jackson, whose club is 4-9 since Rambis replaced the fired Derek Fisher.

While Bryant versus Anthony will be the focus of the fans, Jackson and Rambis should be eager to see if rookie Kristaps Porzingis can build on Friday's 23-point effort. The 7-foot-3 Latvian, who averaged 10.8 points in his previous five games, was just 6 of 17 from the field but showed improvement after going 5 for 21 in the previous two contests.

He had 12 points and 10 rebounds against the Lakers.

Taken two picks ahead of Porzingis at No. 2 overall, Lakers rookie D'Angelo Russell had six points at New York but has averaged 23.3 in the last eight games.

          • Armadillo: Sunday's six-pack

-- Would people really buy a car just because it has WiFi in it?

-- LSU trailed 35-13 at halftime yesterday; thats the kind of effort that gets your coach fired. Losing is one thing; losing 71-38 on national TV is quite another.

-- Oklahoma State fired basketball coach Travis Ford , who really lost his job when he didn't make hay when he had Marcus Smart on his team.

-- If you've never had an avocado smoothie, have one very soon- tremendous.

-- Seton Hall 69, Villanova 67-- Pirates last won the Big East tourney in 1993.

-- Can we move this Presidential election up a couple months before the whole country implodes? Little too much tension now; people need to relax.

            **********

Armadillo: Sunday's List of 13: Thoughts on Selection Sunday.......

Did you turn you clock ahead an hour?

            13) Bubble teams all over America will be rooting for UConn against Memphis in the AAC title game today. UConn is in the field of 68, Memphis is not, so the Tigers steal a bid they win. I'm rooting for Memphis; I've met Josh Pastner a couple times and he is a terrific guy. If you had a son, you'd want him to grow up to be like Josh.

            12) Big West has nine teams in it, eight of whom are California state schools- why not add Bakersfield and make it a ten-team league?

            11) I know TV pays for lot of this so they dictate game times, but day games after night games in these conference tournaments is a bad idea- kids need recovery time if you want the product to be good quality. Even 20-year olds get tired.

            10) Dummy of the Day-- NFL Draft is in six weeks or so; lot of teams really need a QB and QBs make a lot of money, so if you're a QB that wants to be drafted, getting a DUI six weeks before the draft is just dumb. (Dak Prescott of Mississippi State).

            9) Cal-Bakersfield 57, New Mexico State 54-- Dedrick Basile swished a 3-ponter at the buzzer to give Cal-Bakersfield its first-ever spot in March Madness. Bakersfield has won three national titles in D-II, if I remember right- this is a bigger deal. Why do I say that? The mayor of Bakersfield was on the team's bench right after the game.

            8) Stony Brook 80, Vermont 74-- Seawolves get to March Madness for first time; three Vermont players fouled out- they led by 15 with 15:17 left.

            7) Of 14 teams in Atlantic 14, only three of them (St Joe's, George Washington and Duquesne) were members of the league when it began 40 years ago, as Eastern 8.

            6) Middle Tennessee 55, Old Dominion 53-- Enjoy watching coaches after they make the NCAA tournament for the first time. MTSU coach Kermit Davis wore a baseball cap with his gray suit after his Blue Raiders won the C-USA tournament. He was positively glowing. Coaching can be stressful; good to see them have fun.

            5) Fresno State 68, San Diego State 63-- Mountain West was terrible this year; it is going to be a very long Sunday for members of the Aztec program, as they wait and see if they get an at-large bid. Fresno has veteran guards; last time they were in the NCAA tournament was in 2001, when Jerry Tarkanian was coaching his alma mater.

            4) When UNLV won in triple OT in the Mountain West tournament earlier this week, the correct play was to go against them next day; sure enough, they lost to Fresno State by 11 the next day. So when UConn beat Cincinnati in 4 OTs Friday, popular wisdom said to go against the Huskies in their game with Temple yesterday.

But UConn seems to thrive on adversity; they won easily Saturday, thwarting lot of handicappers who tried to capitalize on their situation. I didn't have Temple or Fresno but I couldn't fault anyone who did. Capitalizing on that is solid handicapping.

            3) Was great to hear Don Orsillo working a Padre spring training game Saturday; he got hosed last summer when the Red Sox fired him, but San Diego quickly scooped him up and he will replace Dick Enberg as the Padres' main TV guy in 2017.

            2) Hawai'i 64, Long Beach State 60-- Weird situation; Hawai'i is going on probation after this season, but they can go to the tournament this year- they're not going to be an easy out. Hawai'i beat Northern Iowa by 16, lost to Oklahoma by 3. .

Big West title game ended three great days of basketball; tremendous fun. NCAAs are going to have a tough act to follow.

            1) This is why there might be 20-25 teams who can win a national title this season; when UConn won in 2014, they won their first round game in OT-- they were down 3 in last minute of regulation. Huskies were then an underdog in four of their next five games and pick 'em in the other one- they just as easily could've lost that first game.

This year is just like that; survive and advance will be the key words.

Game of the Day: Cavaliers at Clippers
              ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Cavaliers have won 15 of the past 18 meetings with the Clippers, including a 115-102 home win on Jan. 21.

Cleveland Cavaliers at Los Angeles Clippers (+1.5, 208)

Power forward Kevin Love will return after a one-game absence and the Cleveland Cavaliers look for their sixth victory in seven games when they visit the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday. Love sat out Thursday's victory over the Los Angeles Lakers due to pain in both knees and he's looking to rebound from an 11-for-42 shooting slump over his last four outings.

Love's shaky play has contributed to the Cavaliers being unable to perform at the level that forward LeBron James is seeking. Cleveland's recent surge has been fueled by point guard Kyrie Irving, who is averaging 24.9 points over the last seven games after scoring 26 during Thursday's 120-108 win over the Lakers. The Clippers have won five of their past seven games as they make a run at catching the third-place Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference playoff race. The contest with the Cavaliers is followed by a five-game road trip that begins in San Antonio and concludes by visiting the Golden State Warriors.

              TV: 3:30 p.m. ET, ABC

LINE HISTORY: The spread opened on Saturday afternoon with the Cavaliers pegged as 1.5 point favorites and has held steady. The total hit the board at 207.5 and rose slightly to 208 by Saturday evening.

              INJURY REPORT:

Cavaliers - C T. Mozgov (Questionable Sunday, illness)

Clippers - PF L. Mbah a Moute (Questionable Sunday, eye)
SF P. Pierce (Questionable Sunday, toe)

              POWER RANKINGS: Cavaliers (-8.9) - Clippers (-8.8) + home court (-3) = Clippers -2.9

WHAT SHARPS SAY: "Cleveland will be playing an early daytime game on the West Coast after daylight savings time. The Cavaliers have been in California since Wednesday, and they’ve had two days off prior to this game, but this is still a tricky scheduling spot. Los Angeles has alternated wins and losses over their last four games; they won at home in their last game. The Clippers’ defense has allowed 98 points or less in four of their last five home games."

ABOUT THE CAVALIERS (46-18): Cleveland is vying to hold off Toronto for the top seed in the Eastern Conference and is 2-0 on a four-game road trip that concludes Monday against Utah. Center Tristan Thompson has posted back-to-back double-doubles during the excursion and is averaging 14 points and 14.5 rebounds in the two contests. Thompson has scored in double digits in a season-best six straight games and is averaging 12.5 points on 28-of-41 shooting during the stretch.

ABOUT THE CLIPPERS (42-22): Small forward Jeff Green has produced back-to-back strong efforts by averaging 20 points on 16-of-24 shooting against Oklahoma City and the New York Knicks. Consistency has been an issue for Green since he was acquired from the Memphis Grizzlies as he scored in double digits in only one of the previous four games, twice going scoreless. "It's great that I'm on the floor," Green said after playing 45 minutes against the Knicks on Friday. "I don’t mind it. It's all about competing. It's 5-on-5. I’m going to push through and compete."

              TRENDS:

              * Cavaliers are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 vs. NBA Pacific.
              * Clippers are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 vs. Eastern Conference.
              * Over is 4-0 in Cavaliers last 4 after scoring 100 points or more in their previous game.
              * Under is 7-1 in Clippers last 8 home games.

CONSENSUS: The public seems to agree with our Power Rankings and is favoring the Clippers early on. The over is getting punched at a very agressive 71 percent and we can expect the total to move up, at least, another half point by gametime Sunday afternoon.

                • Armadillo: Monday's six-pack

Six prominent basketball coaches who were student managers in college......

-- Lawrence Frank-- Assistant coach with the LA Clippers.

-- Buzz Williams-- Has Virginia Tech on rise in the ACC.

-- Will Wade, VCU-- His Rams play Oregon State in NCAAs.

-- Matt McCall, Chattanooga-- Worked for Billy Donovan for ten years.

-- Bruce Pearl-- Donned the BC Eagle costume for couple games in college.

-- Dan McHale, Eastern Kentucky-- Was a manager in college at Kentucky.

                  **********

Armadillo: Monday's List of 13: Initial thoughts on the field of 68......

                  13) So Tulsa was the last team in, and whoever between Vandy-Wichita State wears the dark jersey was the second-to-last team in, which means that if SMU/Louisville weren't in trouble with the NCAA, those two teams would both be in the NIT.

                  12) No 16-seed has ever beaten a 1-seed and it ain't happening this year. Hampton is a 24-point underdog to Virginia; I saw the Pirates play in Las Vegas Dec 22, where they lost to a bad Nicholls State team, 84-81 (Nicholls was 11-23 this year). All the upsets in conference tournaments weakened the bottom of the bracket.

                  11) West Virginia vs Stephen F Austin-- Lumberjacks are only team in America that forces a higher %age of turnovers than West Virginia, but they do it more in half-court defense, not full-court. SFA is a veteran team, but Mountaineers will make them go a lot faster than they're used to going. West Virginia plays at an intensity level with lot of good players that you're not going to find in the Southland Conference.

                  10) College hoop has a long season; way back in November, Syracuse beat UConn, Texas A&M in the Bahamas- those two wins got them in thie NCAAs. Orange lost five of their last six games, they went 4-5 while their coach was suspended, but they are in and are facing a Dayton team that struggled the last few weeks.

                  9) Gonzaga-Seton Hall is a fascinating first round game; Zags only got in because they won the WCC tournament, while Seton Hall buzzed thru the Big East tourney-- this game is in Denver though, more Zags' territory than a Big East team.

                  8) Vanderbilt-Wichita State is a great play-in game; some of the people on TV came out and said the winner of that game would beat Arizona in the first round.

                  7) Pointspread that turned my head: Baylor -5.5 over Yale. Ivy League teams are 5-1 vs spread in the first round the last six years. Last time an Ivy team lost by more than nine points in first round of NCAAs was back in 2009.

                  6) Stony Brook is +13.5 vs Kentucky; since Vermont upset Syracuse in '05, America East teams are 0-10 in non-play-in games, 5-5 vs spread, covering last three years, but only one of those 10 losses was by less than 12 points. Oddly, Kentucky started this season against another America East team, the Albany Great Danes (78-65).

                  5) Not sure how Oregon State got a 7-seed; Tres Tinkle is hurt, they're +3.5 against VCU the 10-seed. The last six years, #7 seeds who are underdogs in first round are 3-0 against spread, with two SU upsets.

Go back to 1987, and 7-seed underdogs are 16-10-2 vs spread in the first round.

                  4) When Paul Hewitt coached at Siena, the Saints ran/pressed a lot; they made the NCAAs one year and drew Arkansas in the first round.

In Denver. High altitude, fast-paced teams, the game went over easily.

Now Iona of the MAAC is also heading to Denver, to play a veteran Iowa State team that isn't deep but is very good. Doug Gottlieb was babbling about the total going over about 20 seconds after he saw the brackets. No bueno.

                  3) USC lost seven of its last ten games, Providence won four of its last five games; how important is momentum heading into the tournament? Friars have two really good players who are surrounded by very young players. Can Andy Enfield recapture his magic with Florida Gulf Coast in 2013, when he beat the Big East's Georgetown?

                  2) UConn got a bad draw, time-wise; they're playing a Thursday afternoon game in Iowa vs Colorado, after they won the AAC tournament Sunday. Quick turnaround.

                  1) NC-Wilmington presses, they go up and down, they can get Duke in foul trouble and expose their lack of depth, but the Seahawks also played the #275 pre-conference schedule and lost to Georgetown by 5, their only top 100 non-conference game. Guys on TV totally overlooked this game, analyzed Duke-Baylor in second round instead.

                  Not so fast, my friend.

                          March 14, 2016

Mavericks at Hornets – 7:05 PM EST

The real March Madness is taking place in Charlotte (37-28 SU, 35-29-1 ATS), as the Hornets haven’t lost a game this month. Charlotte owns a 7-0 SU and 6-1 ATS record in March, including five straight wins at Time Warner Cable Arena. Steve Clifford’s club pulled away from the Rockets on Saturday night, 125-109 to cash as 5 ½-point favorites, while eclipsing the ‘over’ for the fifth time in the past six home games. Since being held to 76 points in a Sunday afternoon loss at Atlanta on February 28, the Hornets have put up at least 108 points in each of their past seven victories.

The Mavericks (33-33 SU, 34-31-3 ATS) have sputtered out of control recently by losing five straight games, including three in a row at home. Dallas fell to Indiana on Saturday, 112-105, as Rick Carlisle’s squad has allowed at least 100 points in 14 consecutive games, resulting in 11 ‘overs.’ The Mavs are hitting the highway for just the third time since the All-Star break, as Dallas lost in overtime at Orlando and Denver in its previous two games away from home. Dallas looks to avenge a 108-94 home setback to Charlotte back in early November, as the Mavericks are listed as an underdog to the Hornets for the first time in 11 matchups dating back to 2010.

Pistons at Wizards – 8:05 PM EST

Just when things were turning around for Washington (30-35 SU, 32-33 ATS), the Wizards have dropped five consecutive games after reaching the .500 mark at the beginning of March. Washington dropped all three games on its western swing to Portland, Utah, and Denver, while allowing at least 114 points in all three defeats. The Wizards return to D.C. for a short two-game homestand, as Randy Wittman’s club has won six of their past seven contests at the Verizon Center. The Wizards have captured both matchups with the Pistons this season, including a 98-86 home victory last month as two-point favorites.

Detroit (34-32 SU, 34-31-1 ATS) rebounded from a five-game skid in February to win seven of 10 games, including two of three on its current road trip. The Pistons rallied past the 76ers on Saturday, 125-111 to cash as 11-point favorites, outscoring Philadelphia in the second half by 19 points to pull off the four-game season sweep. Since losing at Washington last month, the Pistons have won four of their past seven contests away from the Palace of Auburn Hills, including underdog victories at Dallas and Milwaukee.

Grizzlies at Rockets – 8:05 PM EST

Memphis (39-27 SU, 35-30-1 ATS) is seeking its 40th win on the season, but is having problems fielding a healthy squad. Point guard Mike Conley is sidelined for the nearly the next month, while forward Zach Randolph has missed the past four games with a knee injury. The Grizzlies covered three times in the last four contests, including double-digit ATS wins at Cleveland and Atlanta. Memphis has won two of three meetings against Houston this season, as the Rockets captured the last matchup at FedEx Forum in mid-January, 107-91 as two-point favorites.

The Rockets (33-33 SU, 29-37 ATS) return home following a 3-2 SU/ATS road swing, which included underdog triumphs at Toronto and Boston. Houston fell short at Charlotte on Saturday with no rest, 125-109, while hitting the ‘over’ for the ninth time in the past 11 road contests. However, the Rockets have finished the ‘under’ in three straight home contests, while failing to cover the number in its past three games at the Toyota Center. Since the start of December, the Rockets have fared well against division foes at home, winning four of five games, but dropped a 102-93 decision to the Grizzlies at the Toyota Center in late November.

Blazers at Thunder – 8:05 PM EST

Portland (35-32 SU, 38-29 ATS) has struggled on the road of late by losing four consecutive games away from the Moda Center. The Blazers won their last time out against the Magic in a 121-84 home blowout on Saturday, as Portland shot a scorching 56% from the floor while knocking down 17 three-pointers. Defensively, Terry Stotts’ club has allowed plenty of points on the highway, giving up at least 116 points in each of their past four away defeats, resulting in three straight ‘overs.’ The last time the Blazers faced the Thunder at home in January, Portland rallied for a 115-110 triumph as 7 ½-point underdogs.

Oklahoma City (44-22 SU, 27-38-1 ATS) hits the highway for three games after tonight’s contest, as the Thunder try to snap a two-game skid. The Thunder tied a season-low for points in a game in Saturday’s 93-85 setback at San Antonio, as Billy Donovan’s squad has cashed the ‘under’ in five of their past six contests. OKC has struggled at home of late by losing four of its last five games at Chesapeake Energy Arena with the lone victory coming against the Clippers last Wednesday, 120-108.

Cavaliers at Jazz – 10:35 PM EST

Cleveland (47-18 SU, 30-32-3 ATS) has been a hard team to figure out at times, in spite of holding onto the top seed in the Eastern Conference. The Cavaliers are back on the right track after picking up victories over the Kings, Lakers, and Clippers on their current four-game road swing. In Sunday’s 114-90 rout of the Clippers, the Cavaliers outscored L.A. in the second quarter, 37-22 to take a commanding 17-point halftime lead. Cleveland edged Utah in its first matchup this season at Quicken Loans Arena, 118-114, but the Jazz cashed as six-point underdogs.

Following a seven-game winning streak towards the end of the first half, the Jazz (31-35 SU, 31-35 ATS) have lost 10 of their past 15 contests. Utah has bounced back to win each of its previous two games, including Sunday’s 108-99 victory at Sacramento as the Jazz jumped out to an 18-point lead after the opening quarter. The key for Quin Snyder’s team is breaking the 100-point mark, as Utah owns a 10-1 record the last 11 games when scoring in triple-digits, while losing 11 straight times when being held to less than 100 points.

                          • Grizzlies' Conley out 3-4 weeks
                            March 12, 2016

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) Grizzlies guard Mike Conley has Achilles tendinitis in his left foot that will keep him out for at least 3 to 4 weeks, after which he will be re-evaluated.

The Grizzlies provided an update on Conley's injury on Saturday, along with that of center Chris Andersen, who remains out after dislocating his left shoulder March 6 in a loss to Phoenix. The Grizzlies say Andersen will continue to be re-evaluated.

Conley has missed the last three games with soreness in his foot. He started all 56 games he has played this season, averaging 15.3 points and a team-high 6.1 assists.

This is just the latest wave of injuries for the Grizzlies (39-26), who remain fifth in the Western Conference despite a changing lineup. Memphis plays at Atlanta on Saturday night, a night after beating New Orleans in overtime with a rookie point guard signed out of the D-League on a 10-day contract earlier in the day.

Briante Weber was signed after Memphis waived guard Mario Chalmers, who ruptured his right Achilles tendon in a loss at Boston on Wednesday night. Weber scored 10 points and had seven assists in 40 minutes against New Orleans.

The Grizzlies already are without center Marc Gasol, who had season-ending surgery to repair a broken navicular bone in his right foot last month. Zach Randolph has missed three straight games with a sore right knee. Jordan Adams has been out since having surgery on his right knee, and Brandan Wright also is recovering from a sore right knee.
