    Armadillo: Tuesday's six-pack

Athlon college football magazine's six best offensive lines this year:

    6) Auburn-- Despite having no senior starters on line this year.

    5) Arkansas-- Four starters back; they averaged 5.1 ypc last year.

    4) Baylor-- Have four senior starters protecting a new QB.

    3) Ohio State- Four starters back; allowed 15 sacks in Big 14 last year.

    2) Michigan State-- Four starters back; averaged 5.2 ypc last year.

    1) Georgia-- New offensive coordinator, new OL coach, same good linemen.

    **********

Armadillo: Tuesday's List of 13: Nobody asked me, but.......

    13) Ducks 5, Blackhawks 4 OT-- Three of five series games have gone OT; Chicago scored two goals in last 1:47 to tie game, then Ducks won game with goal 0:45 into overtime. Anaheim leads series 3-2.

    12) Weirdness in Milwaukee yesterday; Khris Davis homered, then appeared to miss home plate as he rounded bases. Giants appealed play, the umps called Davis out, the Brewers challenged via replay and the call was overturned, so the run counted, but Davis got lucky-- very close call.

Later in the game, Davis homered again and made very sure he stepped on the plate. I had never seen that happen before, except in a Babe Ruth game.

    11) Good news if you watch college football on ESPN; Matt Millen is jumping from ESPN to the Big Ten Network. Muy bueno!!!! Millen was one of the worst executives in NFL history; he doesn't deserve an analyst job.

    10) Aaron Boone-Mark Mulder-Dave O'Brien are a solid broadcast team for ESPN on Monday night games. O'Brien does radio for the Red Sox and is good at basketball, too. Boone/Mulder discuss baseball and teach you things.

    9) When the Mets got swept in Pittsburgh this weekend, it was the first time in MLB history a team swept a three-game series, with starting pitcher winning all three games while each striking out 10+ hitters.

    8) Seattle-Tampa Bay game Monday was first game in MLB history where both managers had played in the Little League World Series.

    7) The great musician Bob Dylan turned 74 Monday. Happy birthday, sir.

    6) Mets have a reserve infielder named Danny Muno; his dad was a punter at Notre Dame when Joe Montana was playing there.

    5) Oakland A's won 24 games LY in their last at-bat, tied for most in majors; this year, they have zero such wins, which is alarming, to me at least......lol

    4) Dan Uggla (13), Chase Utley (11) have the most home runs of any visiting player in brief history of Citi Field.

    3) Interesting situation in Anaheim late last night; tie game, bottom of 9th, the Angels have runners on 1st/3rd, two out, Trout is up, Pujols is on deck. This is not second guessing, because as I sat here in my palacial estate, I said it at the time it happened: THERE IS NO WAY YOU WALK ANYONE TO PITCH TO ALBERT PUJOLS, never, ever, ever.

Plus Craig Kimbrel is pitching; he's really good. But the Padres walk Trout and Pujols wins the game with a single, then flashes a dirty look into the Padre dugout. Its why managers get paid a lot and why guys that lose get fired.

    2) Cubs are 12-10 in one-run games; thats half their games so far this year.

    1) Early favorite to be Super Bowl 50 matchup: Seahawks-Colts, at 15-1

Game of the Day: Hawks at Cavaliers
        ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Atlanta Hawks at Cleveland Cavaliers (-8, 193.5)

        Cavaliers lead series 3-0

The Cleveland Cavaliers look to complete a four-game sweep of the visiting Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday and reach the NBA Finals for the first time since 2007. LeBron James is doing his part with three straight 30-point outings with Sunday’s overtime effort marking his 75th in a playoff game, tying Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for third place.

James missed his first 10 shots in Game 3 before rebounding for 37 points, 18 rebounds and 13 assists to notch his 12th career postseason double-double and the performance came as he played through leg and back woes. “I’m playing through a lot (of pain) but it doesn’t matter,” James said at his postgame press conference. “I don’t want any sympathy, there’s no rest for the weary. I have to make things happen for our team. It’s that simple.” Cleveland point guard Kyrie Irving has missed the past two games and has been termed as questionable for Game 4. Point guard Jeff Teague is trying to keep the Hawks afloat with a 30-point outing in Game 3 and a 23-point average in the series.

        TV:
        8:30 p.m. ET, TNT

        LINE HISTORY:
Most books opened the Cavs as 8.5-point faves, but that's been slightly bet down to -8 as of this writing. The total has held steady at 193.5 since open.

        INJURY REPORT:
Atlanta - Korver (out for season), Sefolosha (out for season). Cleveland - Irving (questionable), Love (out for season), Varejao (out for season).

        ABOUT THE HAWKS:
Center Al Horford was in the midst of his best game in the series – 14 points in 19 minutes – before being ejected in the final minute of the first half for throwing an elbow at the head of Cleveland guard Matthew Dellavedova. “I did think he went at me but I should have handled it better,” Horford told reporters afterward. “Shouldn’t have gotten caught up in that, and it’s something I’ll definitely learn from.” Atlanta has placed Dellavedova on high-alert status as he was also involved in the Game 2 play in which All-Star shooting guard Kyle Korver was lost for the rest of the season with a sprained right ankle.

        ABOUT THE CAVALIERS:
Dellavedova has played an average of 41 minutes while starting the last two games and his grittiness and ability to knock down 3-point shots presents coach David Blatt with the option of holding out Irving again due to the team’s 3-0 series lead. The former Saint Mary’s standout made four 3-pointers and scored 17 points in Game 3 but the postgame conversation was all about whether or not he is a dirty player and James took offense to it. “Obviously, I’m a little bit off about it because this is my guy, this is my teammate, and this is a guy that goes out and works his tail off every single night and people are trying to give him a bad rap,” James said in the press conference. “He doesn’t deserve it and I don’t like it.”

        TRENDS:

*Hawks are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a S.U. loss.
*Underdog is 4-0 ATS in the last 4 meetings.
*Hawks are 8-3 ATS in the last 11 meetings in Cleveland.
*Cavaliers are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 after scoring 100 points or more in their previous game.

        CONSENSUS:
According to Consensus, 60 percent of wagers are being placed on the underdog Hawks.

Irving will be a game-time decision for Game 4

Cleveland Cavaliers head coach David Blatt announced Monday that star point guard Kyrie Irving will be a game-time decision for Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Atlanta Hawks.

Irving suffered a knee injury in Game 1 and was sidelined in Games 2 and 3. The 23-year-old was aiming to play in Sunday's 114-111 overtime triumph but was ruled out by team doctors shortly before tip-off.

The Cavs have been holding their own without the dynamic guard, owning a 3-0 series lead heading into Tuesday. LeBron's squad are listed as 8-point favorites with a current total of 193.5.

Under bets on fire when Crawford refs Hawks games

The Under has posted an unblemished record of 7-0 in all seven Atlanta Hawks games that NBA referee Danny Crawford has officiated this season.

Six of those games came in the regular season while Crawford has worked one Hawks game this postseason - Game 2 of their series against the Washington Wizards.

The closing number in those seven games has ranged from a low of 195.5 (March 27 vs. Miami) to a high of 205 (April 19 vs. Brooklyn).

Alongside Marc Davis and Derrick Stafford, Crawford will be on the floor calling Game 4 of the Hawks' series against the Cleveland Cavaliers Tuesday evening.

At present, the total for Game 4 is 193.5.

Underdog perfect ATS in Eastern Conference Finals

The underdog is a perfect 3-0 against the spread in the Eastern Conference Finals and it's the Atlanta Hawks who are the pups heading into Game 4.

The Hawks head into Cleveland currently 7.5-point dogs against the hosting Cavaliers.

The Cavaliers covered as dogs in Games 1 and 2 in Atlanta, while the Hawks covered in Game 3 at Cleveland.

The underdog is 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings between the two teams overall.
