Griffin will miss his 15th straight game, but is shooting for a return Sunday against the visiting Houston Rockets.

The Clippers have gone 9-5 in Griffin’s absence and are coming off an impressive win Wednesday night at the Oklahoma City Thunder. Los Angeles point guard as Chris Paul won the matchup against league MVP-candidate Russell Westbrook, scoring 33 points and distributing nine assists while holding Westbrook to 24 points on 5-for-14 shooting and nine assists. Dallas, which comes in 1 1/2 games behind Los Angeles for fifth in the Western Conference with the San Antonio Spurs in between heading into their game Thursday against the visiting Cleveland Cavaliers, is coming off a 33-point loss to the Cavaliers.

TV: 8:30 p.m. ET, NBATV, FSN Prime Ticket (Los Angeles), FSN Southwest (Dallas)

LINE HISTORY: The opening line saw the Mavericks favored by 2.5-points before dropping to 1.5 Thursday night. The total has not moved from it's 202.5 opening.

              INJURY REPORT: Clippers - G Chris Paul (Ques-Ankle), F Blake Griffin (Out-Elbow) Mavericks - G Devin Harris (Ques-Hand), F Al-Farouq Aminu (Prob-Shoulder)

ABOUT THE CLIPPERS (42-23 SU, 29-36 ATS, 28-34-3 O/U): Two of the top defensive centers in the NBA will go head-to-head again when Tyson Chandler of the Mavericks stares down DeAndre Jordan of the Clippers. Jordan leads the league in total rebounds per game (14.6) and defensive rebounds per game (9.9) and is on pace to become the 14th NBA player to average at least 14.5 total rebounds over a season and seventh since the 1985-86 season. Jordan is also fourth among the league’s centers in blocks (2.2) and second in steals (1.0).

ABOUT THE MAVERICKS (41-25 SU, 30-34-2 ATS, 26-39-1 O/U): The Mavericks should be at full strength, despite losing Al-Farouq Aminu for the second half against the Cavaliers after he collided with J.R. Smith. Devin Harris, another key reserve, also appeared to reinjure his right hand after the injury caused him to miss the two previous games, but both will reportedly play against the Clippers. Amar’e Stoudemire has helped add to the bench depth since he was acquired by the Mavericks in mid-February and he’s coming off his highest-scoring game with the club, a 15-point effort against the Cavaliers.

              TRENDS:

*Clippers are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 road games vs. a team with a winning home record.
*Under is 20-5-1 in Mavericks last 26 overall.
*Underdog is 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings.
*Over is 7-0 in the last 7 meetings.

NBA roundup Raptors finally defeat Heat

TORONTO -- For the first time in five years, the Toronto Raptors picked up a win over the Miami Heat on Friday night.

Guard Kyle Lowry led the Raptors to a 102-92 victory with 19 points, eight assists, eight rebounds and seven steals at the Air Canada Centre.

The win halted a stretch of 16 consecutive Toronto losses to Miami -- the Raptors' longest losing streak against one team in franchise history. Toronto (39-26) last beat Miami (29-36) on Jan. 27, 2010.

Friday's win snapped Toronto's four-game losing streak and was just the third Raptors win in 11 games.

A Chicago Bulls loss coupled with the Raptors' win moved Toronto into a tie for third in the Eastern Conference. The Raptors have two games in hand on the Bulls.

Lowry was 7 of 12 from the field and made 5 of 8 from three-point range. Guard DeMar DeRozan added 18 points and six assists and guard Lou Williams had 14 points and four rebounds off the bench for the Raptors.

Heat guard Dwayne Wade had game-high 25 points and four assists.

                      Celtics 95, Magic 88

BOSTON -- Evan Turner staged a one-man show in the closing minutes, and rebuilding Boston continued an improbable run at a playoff berth with a come-from-behind victory over Orlando.

The veteran guard scored 11 of his team's last 16 points over the final 3:46 (nine of its 10 at one point). He also made a key defensive play and subsequent pass as the Celtics kept pace in what has become a three-team battle for the eighth and final Eastern Conference playoff spot.

With fellow guard Isaiah Thomas missing his second straight game with elbow and back bruises, Turner finished with a season-high 30 points. He also had five rebounds and four assists as Boston won for the fifth time in the last six games and improved to 8-3 in the last 11.

                      Thunder 113, Timberwolves 99

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Oklahoma City overcame an injury to another starter in a blowout win over struggling Minnesota, pulling into a tie with the New Orleans Pelicans for the eighth playoff spot.

In what was a highly competitive contest for most of three quarters, Oklahoma City (36-29) earned a 113-99 win, handing the Timberwolves (14-50) their third loss in a row.

Forward Kevin Durant is scheduled to be out 1-2 more weeks as he continues recovery from a surgical procedure on his foot, and forward Serge Ibaka sat out Friday's contest with knee soreness, thrusting rookie forward Mitch McGary into the starting lineup.

Minnesota was also playing with some significant players sidelined by injury. Forward Kevin Garnett and center Nikola Pekovic, both normally in the starting lineup, missed the contest.

                      76ers 114, Kings 107

PHILADELPHIA -- Center DeMarcus Cousins had a huge night for Sacramento, but he was overshadowed by the smallest player on the court.

Backup point guard Ish Smith, generously listed at 6 feet, keyed a second-half run as Philadelphia rallied from an 18-point third-quarter deficit to beat Sacramento 114-107.

Forward Robert Covington scored 24 points to lead Philadelphia (15-50), which won for just the second time in seven games. Center Nerlens Noel had 16 points and 12 rebounds, and Smith contributed 10 points and nine assists in 25 minutes. Cousins matched his season high of 39 points and had a career-high 24 rebounds. Forward Rudy Gay notched 24 points for Sacramento (22-42), which fell for the fifth time in six games.

The Kings, who were seeking to win consecutive games for the first time since late November, are also ensured a ninth straight losing season.

                      Hornets 101, Bulls 91

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Guard Gerald Henderson scored 20 points to lead seven players in double figures and Charlotte dominated the second half for a win over Chicago.

The Hornets trailed 40-21 two minutes into the second quarter but roared back from there and eventually led by as many as 18 in the fourth quarter. They outscored Chicago 25-10 in the third quarter and 16-6 to open the fourth.

The Hornets (29-35) snapped a two-game losing streak. They held a 55-36 rebound edge, with 17 offensive rebounds and 27 second-chance points.

Guard Mo Williams scored 18 points, forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist scored 13, forward Marvin Williams had 12 and centers Jason Maxiell and Bismack Biyombo and guard Kemba Walker all contributed 10. Biyombo also had 10 rebounds.

                      Mavericks 129, Clippers 99

DALLAS -- Dallas was smarting for two days after getting blown out at home, and it made shorthanded Los Angeles pay the price.

A season-best 38-point second quarter and a big night from forward Chandler Parsons from long range gave Dallas a much needed charge in a 129-99 thumping of Los Angeles, ending a three-game home losing streak to the Clippers.

Parsons set the tone in the first half with four 3-pointers. He finished the game 5 of 6 from beyond the arc for a team-high 22 points.

Dallas, which had lost five of its last seven games, led 59-51 at the half, extended the lead a bit in the third quarter and blew it open early in the fourth. Just a couple minutes into the final quarter the Mavs, who have lost by at least 15 points five times since the All-Star break, built a 20-point cushion for the first time in a game since Feb. 20.

                      Nuggets 114, Warriors 103

DENVER -- Forward Kenneth Faried had 24 points and 17 rebounds, forward Danilo Gallinari also scored 24 and Denver beat self-depleted Golden State.

Guards Randy Foye (20 points) and Jameer Nelson (17 points) also scored in double figures as the Nuggets won their third straight.

Guard Justin Holiday had a career-high 23 points in his first start for the Warriors (51-13), who sat two-thirds of their starting lineup and lost for the first time in seven games.

With his team comfortably atop the Western Conference, Warriors coach Steve Kerr rested All-Star guards Steph Curry and Klay Thompson, forward Andre Iguodala and center Andrew Bogut. The decision was met with anger by fans on Twitter, who bought tickets to see the stars. Golden State was also without forward Marreese Speights, who was serving a league-issued one-game suspension.

                      Trail Blazers 118, Pistons 99

PORTLAND, Ore. -- Guard Damian Lillard scored 28 points and dished out nine assists to lead the Portland Trail Blazers past the Detroit Pistons 118-99 Friday night at the Moda Center.

Forward LaMarcus Aldridge had 22 points despite not playing in the fourth quarter for the Trail Blazers (43-20), who won for the seventh time in eight outings. Forward Meyers Leonard came off the bench for a season-high 15 points and seven rebounds and guard Arron Afflalo added 15 points for the Blazers.

Forward Greg Monroe scored 19 points and center Andre Drummond collected 16 points and 17 rebounds for the Pistons (23-42), who lost their ninth game in a row. Guard Jodie Meeks scored 14 points and guard Reggie Jackson had 11 points and 10 assists for the losers.

                      Hawks 96, Suns 87

PHOENIX -- Paul Millsap had 23 points and nine rebounds and Atlanta held Phoenix to six points in the first eight-plus minutes of the fourth quarter to pull out a win.

Kyle Korver had 14 points and didn't have his first 3-pointer -- extending his consecutive games streak with at least one to 51 games -- until 2:07 remained in the third quarter. But he had two more in the fourth and Millsap had two as well, as the Hawks hit 5 of 7 in the final 12 minutes and outscored the Suns 31-14 the quarter.

Al Horford added 12 points for the Hawks (51-14), who avoided a three-game road losing streak.

Markieff Morris had 22 points and Eric Bledsoe had 21 points for the Suns, who hit 10 of their first 17 3-pointers but missed the last nine in a row -- including all five in the fourth quarter.

The Suns also lost center Alex Len to a right ankle sprain with seven minutes left to play. It's the third time he's sprained the same ankle this season.

                          Armadillo: Sunday's six-pack

-- Albany 51, Stony Brook 50-- Great Danes go to fifth NCAA D-I tournament, in a bitter loss for Seawolves, who blew 7-point lead in last 2:24.

-- SF Austin 83, Sam Houston State 70-- Lumberjacks are 29-4; they won a game in LY's NCAA tournament. Could they do it again?

-- Harvard 53, Yale 51-- Crimson go to NCAAs for fourth year in a row.

-- Hampton 82, Delaware St. 61-- Pirates are 16-17, probably headed to Dayton.

-- Check out YouTube for a video of Northern Arizona coach Jack Murphy almost inciting a melee after his team got hosed at Montana Friday night. It is OK to scream at the refs, but not at the other coach. They tend to yell back.

-- New Mexico State 80, Seattle 61-- Big West needs to re-claim Aggies; they're a good team in this bizarre mish-mash of teams called the WAC. They deserve better.

Armadillo: Sunday's List of 13: Wrapping up a college hoop Saturday

                          14) Big East
-- Villanova 69, Xavier 52-- Wildcats win first Big East tournament title in 20 years- their best guy back then was Kerry Kittles. Is Villanova a #1 seed? .

                          13) AAC
-- UConn 47, Tulsa 42-- Huskies can steal a bid from someone today.
-- SMU 69, Temple 56-- Last time Larry Brown was in NCAAs, he won it (1988).

                          12) ACC
-- Notre Dame 90, North Carolina 82 -- Tar Heels got tired playing for 4th day in row; Fighting Irish pass well, shoot well, are fun to watch.

                          11) A-14
-- VCU 93, Davidson 73-- When Rams make 12-24 on arc, they're not going to lose much-- they don't do it often, making 34.1% this year.
-- Dayton 56, Rhode Island 52-- Have feeling Archie Miller will have a new address fairly soon. Interesting game vs VCU today.

                          10) Big X
-- Iowa State 70, Kansas 66 -- Cyclones fell behind by 17, which they seem to do most every game, then they stormed back and won second Big X tourney in a row.

                          9) Big 14
-- Michigan State 62, Maryland 58-- Spartans were down 16 early, came back and beat Terps for first time in three tries this season.
-- Wisconsin 71, Purdue 51-- Boilermakers led by 5 at half, but Badgers turned it up in second half and pulled away. Should Purdue feel good about tonight?

                          8) Big Sky
-- Eastern Washington 69, Montana 65-- Eagles get to NCAAs for second time ever, rallying back from 11 down in last 5:00. ESPN needs to do a latenight package with the Big Sky Conference-- games are fun to watch. Tyler Harvey leads the whole country in scoring, just over 23 ppg. Does that seem low for a national leader?

                          7) Big West
-- Cal-Irvine 67, Hawai'i 58-- Anteaters are going to NCAAs for first time with a 7-6 center who will cause problems on defense. They've got good athletes, can shoot it some and their coach was an NBA assistant. Big West hasn't won non-play-in game since Pacific won a game ten years ago; could this be the year?

                          6) C-USA
-- UAB 73, Middle Tennessee 60-- MTSU was playing for 4th day in row in UAB's city, so Blazers caught lot of breaks this week. Ironic they make NCAAs just months after the school president pulled the plug on their football program, which has divided the UAB community.

Also ironic that Murry Bartow got fired at East Tennessee State this week; his dad Gene founded UAB's basketball program in 1978.

                          5) MAC
-- Buffalo 89, Central Michigan 84--Bobby Hurley gets to first NCAAs as a coach in his second season. He is good longshot bet to be guy who eventually replaces Mike Krzyzewski at Duke, when that time comes.

                          4) Mountain West
-- Wyoming 45, San Diego State 43-- Cowboys steal a bid by winning here; Aztecs just cannot score enough to do much damage next week. Wyoming is in tourney for first time since 2002; Larry Shyatt gets the most out of a limited roster.

                          3) Pac-12
-- Arizona 80, Oregon 52--If I'm the AD at Duquesne, I'm finding out why the hell TJ McConnell transferred to Arizona. If I'm the president at Duquesne and McConnell left because former coach Ron Everhart got fired, then I fire the AD.

By the way, Sean Miller has really done a great job of filling Lute Olson's shoes in Tucson. In three meetings this year, Arizona outscored Oregon by 80 points.

                          2) SEC
-- Arkansas 60, Tennessee 49 -- Razorbacks were talking trash to the Kentucky kids in between games Saturday, so this game could be a lot of fun.
-- Kentucky 91, Auburn 67-- Bruce Pearl will have his day and he'll have it within two years; it would help if Calipari left to coach in the NBA again.

                          1) Sun Belt
-- Georgia State 83, UL-Lafayette 79-- Panthers led by 17 at half, hung on to get to the finals. Ron Hunter has done nice job as his team moved up in class.
-- Georgia Southern 44, UL-Monroe 43-- Georgia State lost in finals LY, but ULL had an NBA player (Elfrid Payton); doubt Eagles have an NBA player.
