LSU is 5-2 after crushing UMass by 22 last game; their losses are by 9-3 to ODU/Clemson, on a neutral floor. SEC underdogs of more than 5 points are 2-5 vs spread.

Green Bay is 3-1 vs D-I teams with win over good Evansville team on a neutral floor, only loss at Wisconsin; Phoenix are making 25.9% on arc, 63.2% fron line, not good. Georgia State is 0-2 vs top 100 teams, losing by 23-10 at Iowa State/Colorado State. Horizon road underdogs of 7 or less points are 1-4; Sun Belt favorites are 3-5.

Baylor is 6-1 with 69-65 win at SEC's South Carolina in only road game; Bears' only loss was by 8 to Illinois last week in Vegas. Baylor retrieves 43.4% of its own misses (#5) but is making just 62.4% from line. TCU is 7-0 against 8th-easiest schedule but they're improved, with best wins over Wash State/Miss State; Horned Frogs are holding foes to 35% inside arc. Ole Miss had solid wins over Creighton/Cincinnati last couple games; they've won five in row since upset loss to Charleston Southern in opener. Rebels make 76.8% of foul shots, #15 in country.

Arkansas made 46.1% of its 3's (#2 in US) in 7-0 start, beating Iona by 17, Wake by 30 and winning at SMU; Hogs are forcing turnovers 24.9% of time. Iowa State is #5 in nation protecting ball, important vs pressure defense; Cyclones beat Alabama by 10, lost to Maryland by 9 on neutral floor. State scored 81+ in its four wins, 63 in its only loss.

Pepperdine hasn't played in 10 days since losing by 11 at Iowa; Waves have double figure wins over Fresno/SanJose- they're turning ball over 22.2% of time, making just 28.6% from arc. Northridge won its last two games with Pepperdine by 6-3 points; Matadors lost last four games, scoring 59.3 ppg in last three; they get almost nothing outside the arc.

San Diego State won last eight games with San Diego, nipping Toreros by a point LY; USD lost last six visits here, last three by 11-28-16 points. Marist beat Monmouth twice LY by total of six points, winning by two here, other game in double OT; Red Foxes are 1-5 under yet another new coach, turning ball over 22% of time; their only win was over Fresno St. by 4. Monmouth is 2-4 with no top 300 wins, but three of four losses were vs top 60. Hawks turn ball over 21% of time, playing #311 tempo.

3-4 VMI (two non-D-I wins) plays fastest tempo in country; they turn ball over 26.8% of time, allowing 100 ppg in losses to NC-Wilmington, Army (West Va/Maryland too). Samford is 3-5 with #241 UMKC best team they've beaten; they're 2-2 vs teams outside top 240, losing by 7-13 points to Northridge/Kennesaw State. Not lot to choose from here.

Morehead State is 2-5 vs D-I teams, experienced but overscheduled; they shoot just 39% inside vs arc, struggling vs athletic bigs. Eagles' best win is by 9 at Marshall, conference rival of UAB's. Bucks lose, but continue to be best ATS bet

The Milwaukee Bucks lost their third straight game Wednesday night falling 107-105 in heartbreaking fashion to the Dallas Mavericks, but covered once again and are the hottest bet against the spread in the NBA.

Despite Monta Ellis' game winning shot, the Bucks managed to cover the four-point spread, making it their fifth cover in their last six games and improving the record to 14-6 ATS. The best mark in the NBA.

Milwaukee hosts Miami (8-9-1 ATS) Friday night.

76ers finally get first win and are red hot ATS

The Philadelphia 76ers grabbed their first win of the season in Minnesota Wednesday night, avoided a dubious record and covered the spread all in one night.

With their 85-77 win over the Timberwolves, the Sixers improved to 1-17 and won't set the record for most consecutive losses to start a season.

It was also their third consecutive cover and fifth in their last six games. Philly takes their win streak to Oklahoma City Friday to take on the Thunder.
