Id like to learn about Boise State's D coordinator, because the one from last year is at Tennessee and Kyle Wilson is in the NFL... I think the guy that L Blount punched out is gone LOL

I agree. Also you can just about count on a special team TD or a blocked kick that leads to a FG by the Hokies. The punter for Boise could have a long day and VT could play field position most of the game

My site has their total wins at 11. I think Boise gets this game.

Boise can play with any team in the country for one week. This should be a great game. I'm gonna go against my boys this time though. Sooner or later they have to lose one of these big games

I'm with you here PK as bronco fans we know what's up. We both know that 1st game of the season is our hardest no matter the opponent, but once we get rollin...WATCH OUT ! I'm with you though, hokies take this one by playing beamer ball. Don't forget those boys from boise ain't used to 90 and 100 degree weather on the east coast in august.

I think i told you and hokie99 this will be hardest college game i ever had to watch, If i was going to college it was going to be V.T. These are my 2 favorite college teams, i just hope it's a great game with no injuries.

if you would like to learn read below, you are correct kyle Wilson is in the NFL...He was a senior...it's called recruiting, that roster is littered with kids from california and texas 2 of the top 3 states for college football recruiting, and BTW Byron Hout IS still on the team, where is Mr. Blount ????

                  BY CHADD CRIPE

Boise State's defense shouldn't change much this year as defensive line coach Pete Kwiatkowski takes over as defensive coordinator.

Kwiatkowski, who was named the replacement for Justin Wilcox on Wednesday, helped ease Wilcox into his first coordinator job when they both arrived at Boise State in 2006.

Kwiatkowski, 43, was the defensive coordinator at Montana State from 2000 to 2005. He is a former first-team All-American with the Broncos and is a member of the Boise State Hall of Fame.

"It will be a smooth transition, probably as smooth as it could have went," said defensive backs coach Marcel Yates, who worked for Kwiatkowski at Montana State. "Pete's a smart guy. He already had so much input in the game plan in the first place."

Kwiatkowski's Montana State defenses led the Big Sky Conference in yards allowed four times in his final five seasons. He also has earned raves for his work with the Broncos' defensive line.

He was the only candidate to replace Wilcox, who left for the coordinator job at Tennessee.

Coach Chris Petersen called the Kwiatkowski hire "a slam dunk."

"That was a really healthy, awesome relationship in terms of what went on with those guys the last four years," Petersen said. "They were kind of the yin and the yang."

The biggest change, Kwiatkowski said, will be the final decision-making. Now the buck stops with him.

"I'm hoping that the 20-something years of coaching has prepared me to handle the stress better than I did when I was a younger coach," Kwiatkowski said. "É I was a little more like Justin (at Montana State) - even the wins, when they weren't pretty, I took them hard."

The Broncos still need to hire a defensive assistant to round out the staff. They could hire a line coach and make Kwiatkowski a floater, like Wilcox was, or keep Kwiatkowski as the line coach and hire a second line coach or a second linebackers coach.

Kwiatakowski is leaning toward keeping his defensive line responsibility.

"We'll make sure we get the next best piece to the puzzle," Petersen said.

Pain,I respect your opinion but nothing I read tells me that Boise States defense is ready for what most are calling the 2nd best backfield in the country.Sure against the WAC schools they will not skip a beat but VT is solid in every phase of the game.Boise won't score 60 against VT and that offense don't mean shit if your on the sideline most of the game. The line is FISHY and says take Boise but man I just can't do it right now.I need more info to not load up on VT.Good luck to you on your play though

1st) vols i think you should read my whole post as i actually picked V.T to win the game. Post #8

2nd) i only posted the article about Def coord. for the guy that "wanted to know more about Boise's new defensive coordinator" It was just for information purposes honestly.

3rd) you don't have to tell me anything about either schools football program especially V.T....again if you read my whole post you will see that if i did go to college it was gonna be V.T, sure i would have probably kept the bench warm and that's it, but that was where i was going.

4th) I know both schools inside and out and the 1st thing everyone does is underestimate Boise's run defense, V.T will run but not all day, and boise will catch V.T cheating like they LOVE to do on a couple plays, and score some points, but it won't be enough in the end eventually foster will figure out the boise plan, they will tire out in the 4th qtr and special teams is where this game will be won IMO.

honestly vols any questions about these teams just shoot, like i said i really do know these 2 teams probably better than any other, just FYI vols i bought a point i'm playing it V.T +4, that's the way i'm rolling with it.

Not a terrible bet with Boise getting to start at 5 this year.

I haven't been around much lately but man am I nervous about this game. I'll be there next month. The atmosphere will be amazing (roughly 80K Hokie fans to whatever Boise brings) but having 6-7 new starters on D against a very experienced Boise O is a tough way to start the year. I don't even want to try to pick a winner here...
