I agree with Chugger-sure hope I am wrong as a Celtics fan, but my tea leaves see the Celtics "magic"(no pun intended) ending here and Lakers taking it in 5 games.

I just don't see the Lakers in 5 like a couple others have said. Not with games 3, 4 and 5 all in Boston. The Celtics get exactly what they need in some rest and they may have found a guy to give Rondo a rest in games with Nate Robinson. The Celtics defense baffled L.A. the last time these teams met for a title and Boston played absolutely GREAT defense in beating the best 2 records in Basketball (Orlando,Cleveland), and neither series even reached 7 games unlike Boston's title season 2 years ago.

I think Boston gets a split in L.A. and wins 2 of 3 at home. I say they go back to L.A. for games 6 & 7 up 3-2. I'm not sure what happens after that but i think Boston has many more options to score than the Lakers do and i know they play better defense.

Boston is (17-3) All time in NBA finals Series and the Lakers are (15-15). Boston is (9-2) against L.A. in 11 previous meetings in the finals.

This starting 5 for Boston has never lost a playoff series together going (7-0), beating Lebron twice, Kobe, Wade and the Billups/Hamilton combo in 5 of those 7 series.

Last time these teams met in the finals 2 years ago, Boston lost 2 of 3 in L.A. by 5 & 6 points and their one win was also by 6. In Boston they went (3-0) winning by 10, 6 and 39.

                Matchups should be .........

                Kobe vs Pierce
                Fisher vs Rondo
                Artest vs Allen
                Gasol/Odom vs Garnett/Perkins

                Bench for L.A.
                Bynum (Health ?)
                Farmar
                Vujacic
                Brown

                Bench for Boston
                Rasheed
                Big Baby
                Tony Allen
                Nate Robinson

I dont think fisher will be on rondo...kobe will take him and artest will be on pierce. These teams are way different than two years ago. I know the starting five are the same and celtics have a great defense, but garnet is not the same player and gasol is better now. Its going to be a good series but it ends in six games max. I actually think lakers in 5 is accurate

                    Boston in 7...

Boston steals one in LA wins two out of three in Boston---wins game 7 in LA...

I'm not so sure of that and it depends on what side of the ball you are talking. Pierce WILL be on Kobe when the Lakers have the ball and all other matchups will be what i said when LA has the ball. I'm not convinced that Kobe will be on Rondo at all either. I think he takes Pierce and i think Artest tries to shut down Allen or Rondo. You think Fisher will be on Allen and stick with him? I don't.

Also, you say Gasol is better, well, what about Rondo? He was clueless 2 years ago and now a All Star. HELLO!!!

I think Boston also has a MUCH better bench than 2 years ago.

Bryant couldn't figure out Boston and their defense 2 years ago and just like Garnett, he is also 2 years older.

It is hard to pass up Boston at +165 in what appears to be an evenly matched series. I think they get one in L.A. and the odds will drop like a rock after that.

Fisher is a liabilty on defense...

Boston wins this series again...Just as 2 years ago, I'll play them now at about +170 (similar line 2 years ago when Boston had home court)...

I heard today that Rondo runs about 3.5 to 4 miles per game based on some study somebody did and they were saying do the Lakers really want to wear Kobe down chasing him for 4 qtrs? Kobe moved on to Westbrook of OKC a couple games in to the series and he may cover Rondo but i don't think it starts out that way. They are not afraid of Rondo's jump shot so why put Kobe on him? Makes no sense to me. I think Kobe & Artest cover Pierce & Allen. I know it has been said that Artest was a great defender but i think he was a much better defender in Indiana than he is now. He's still good but not like he used to be. I also think Garnett will be on Odom and frustrate him (Again) and Perkins will be on Gasol just like he was 2 years ago when he was very physical with Gasol and frustrated him a lot too.

Boston hasn't had the best player on the floor in any series that they have played so far (Wade,Lebron,Howard) and they won't this time either. I don't think they care though and i don't think it matters. They have 3 Hall of Fame players that when they are playing defense with the rest of the team, they are so tough to beat in a series.

L.A. newspapers are saying that Boston hasn't faced any team that has the firepower like the Lakers yet. Well, have the Lakers faced a team that plays defense like Boston? That works both ways and if the Lakers do win, it will be in 6 or 7 at home but i do like Boston to win the Series. People forget how sizzling hot the Cavs and especially the Magic were going in to the Series against Boston and the Celtics just baffled and frustrated both teams from the get go.

I think both polls here were about 70% against Boston in those series and the Celtics played like the favorites in both and here again, all Lakers in this poll. I actually like it that way because it has been a good formula so far!
