Lebron will stay in Cleveland. They can pay him more than anybody else can and i think that is also why the coach was just fired. Wouldn't be surprised to see the Cavs go after somebody like Calipari next. I also think James will sign a max deal and have a opt out about half way through it in case he isn't happy with the direction the Cavs are going in and wants to leave.

Exactly and he would be the hated public enemy #1 if he left. All his family and friends are there and he has the house to die for too. I just don't see him turning his back on all of that and walking away. I know you can get the nice house anywhere but there are too many things for him there to leave.

First off let's dispel a myth that has been perpetuated in the media, the one pertaining to "LeBron will get paid more by staying in Cleveland." I can't beleive the ESPN folks have yet to figure this out, but I did in about 30 seconds. One is correct when saying that the Cavs can pay him slightly more money, but it's not the $25 Million more that is being reported. Here's the deal; the Cavaliers can pay 1.7 Million per year more than anybody else (10% of max contract status for a 7 year player).....the reason you are hearing "The Cavs can pay up to 25 Million dollars more than any other team," is because they can give a 6 year deal, whereas another team could only give a 5 year deal. So yes, the Cavs technically could give $25 Mil more than another team over the length of 6 year contract.......IF LeBRON RETIRES IN 5 YEARS. Of course, he will NOT be retired. He will be playing and making 30 Million in that 6th year just by signing another deal, assuming he's still healthy and a great player. We all know he will be, so that scuttles that nonsense.

Now, let's just say the Cavs try and convince him that 1.7 Mil per year is worth it. After taxes and agent dues and union dues, that's really on about 800K per year, 650K per year if Obama is still in office at the end of the deal (LOL Just kidding.) I really think his team of guys and LeBron himself are smart enough to see that 800K per year is not really incentive to stay in the horrible place called Cleveland. If he stays, it'll be because he truly thinks Dan Gilbert and the organization as a whole is on the right track and committed to winning a title and that the team can get a decent guy to help out via trade this summer. Plus he was born and raised in Akron, so that's a plus. I also know that one of his "team" bought a very expensive home from a Cleveland Indians front office guy this spring, so it figures that he would only be willing to do so if he felt LeBron was staying.

But as far as the Cavs paying him more, it really is not near the issue one thinks it is. It's just that ESPN, along with the rest of the media, refuses to dig deep enough to report it as such.

So which teams can pay him 1.7 million less than the Cavs per year? I don't think the being born is raised in Akron thing, is just a plus. He would basically be destroying his home town by leaving.

If Jordan was his idol and had any impact on Lebron at all, he would end up in Charlotte playing for Michael's team, not in Chicago. Following that legacy is a no win situation for him there!

I disagree. I think Lebron has a huge ego. I think trying to upstage MJ in Chicago would fit Lebron
