November Sweeps Factoid of the Week: This is the fifth straight year the Colts and Pats have met in the first half of November.
More than all other games, New England-Indy is the game TV loves. This will be the seventh straight year the Colts and Patriots have faced off, and each has been a Super Bowl contender every time they've met. Since the start of the 2003 season, the Colts and Patriots sit atop the NFL with identical 83-21 regular-season records. In the six previous seasons, they've made the playoffs a total of 11 times, and the only time one didn't is last year, when the Patriots lost Tom Brady eight minutes into the season and still finished 11-5, losing the AFC East on a playoff tiebreaker with Miami.

it is shaping up as one of the best drafts that bill polian has had, even picking at the end of the rounds.“A government big enough to give you everything you want, is strong enough to take everything you have."

Polian is the BEST Drafter in the history of football. Look at the list starting in his 1st year with Manning. Check out the 1st round picks since then. I heard the list the other day on the radio and it is mind boggling. The guy is a genius!

i have posted that list many times at different forums. every one has had a impact on the team, about half have been all-pros. most teams would be happy to have half the players he has drafted in the first round, and usually with picks at the bottom of the 1st round.
people talk about manning, but polian is the true MVP of the colt franchise.“A government big enough to give you everything you want, is strong enough to take everything you have."

i found one of my old posts. i wish the colts would have done like i said and not given sanders the big contract, they would have had a lot more cap room to work with.

Default Re: Colts second youngest team in NFL I heard?
BP is the best GM by Far in the NFL! i think EVERY drafted player this year made the team, plus the DT from penn st that was a undrafted free agent. he lets guys go because he has drafted 1-2 years earlier to replace them. every 1st pick he has drafted while with the colts is at least a starter.
manning, glenn, james, morris, freeney, wayne, sanders (2nd round, but colts traded out of the first), clark, jackson, and addai, i think harrison was a year before BP. you might not find two teams that can match those players over the past 10 years! if sanders doesn't stay healthy i don't think the colts will resign him to a big contract because his replacement is waiting in the wings. only 4 colts have ever played for another team.Last edited by husker; 11-12-2009, 10:22 AM.“A government big enough to give you everything you want, is strong enough to take everything you have."
