  • Who Has the Best 1-2 Punch in Baseball?

    I listed them alphabetically.

I also excluded Arizona & Seattle. Webb has been injured all year and Bedard is injured again. If i left a combo off the list, it is because they were not going to win the most votes anyway.

If i had to choose, in order .......

        1) SF ... Just 2 great arms and long career's ahead.
        2) Boston ... Maybe a little biased but i think Postseason performance seperates them from the Yankees.
        3) NYY ... Great Left/Right combo. Sabathia hasn't been great in the postseason and Burnett has been known to get injured too.
        4) St Louis ... This is a coin flip with #5. Both Harden & Carpenter have had plenty of injury woes. I like Carpenter more right now and i do like Wainwright over Big Z.
        5) Chicago ... Read #4
        6) Detroit ... Verlander has been a stud this year and Jackson has been one of the best offseason signings in baseball. I can't take them over any of the above duo's though.
        7) TB ... I think both guys have great stuff but i'm still waiting for one to step up and be "The Guy".

        The End

If I was rating them, based on this season only, I'd go:

              1. SF
              2. Detroit
              3. Boston
              4. NYY
              5 St. Louis
              6. Chi
              7. TB

SF--easily--they have taken a SHIT team and have more wins than I ever thought possible---maybe a 1-2-3 punch here--Johnson does have 8 wins--I hate Zito so I won't bring him into the equation--he has been pitching well as of late..dick head!

                  2nd--another ez one BOSTON
                  3rd--Spanks
                  4th Detroit
                  5th Cardinals

I think it is all comparative here with slight edges through these teams--SF has down an admirable job..damn they even have Sanchez who threw a no hitter--yep against SD--pieces of shit!

Out of all 30 teams, here are my top 1-2 punches so far this season:

                    Giants (Lincecum/Cain)
                    Tigers (Verlander/Jackson)
                    Cardinals (Carpenter/Wainwright)
                    Mariners (Felix/Washburn)
                    Braves (Vazquez/Jurrjens)

                    Of the 7 choices:
                    Giants
                    Tigers
                    Cardinals
                    Red Sox
                    Yankees
                    Rays
                    Cubs

giants 2 been sick but if u were goin to world series how could u rather not have beckett for atleast 2 starts? what pressure have lincecum/cain pitched? cain is havin great yr but hes like 3 games below .500 for career so lester same level if not better that cain... and lincecum is beast but beckett proven big time games id have take boston think bout maybe couple other combos instead san fran from list
edification will take place pull up the reins and get outta the race.

SF 1, Det 1A. Hard to pick between the too imo, but I give SF a slight edge.
