STREAKING AND SLUMPING STARTERS

STREAKING

Julio Teheran, Atlanta Braves (5-7, 3.42 ERA, $582): The Braves are doing their best to hold off the challengers in the NL East and Teheran’s month of July is a big part of that. The right-hander has been fantastic this month, with a 1.14ERA and a 0.89 WHIP, while limiting opponents to .188 batting average over that span. Teheran makes one final start this month against the second-place Nationals tonight in Washington. This game is basically a Pick’em with a total of 10.5.

SLUMPING

Griffin Canning, Los Angeles Angels (3-6, 5.15 ERA, $176): It’s been an up-and-down rookie season for the Angels’ young starter and unfortunately this is a down section. Canning has a 12.34 ERA and a 2.49 WHIP in his last four games (three starts), while opponents have a 1.009 OPS over that span. Canning will have a chance to bounce back when he and the Angels host the Tigers tonight. L.A. is currently a big -260 home favorite with a total of 9.5.
