Oldest NFL lineup since 2000? The ’04 Buccaneers (29.9), also coached by Jon Gruden.

If you don’t know, George Allen coached Rams/Redskins in 60’s/70’s; he won a ton of games, is in the Hall of Fame— his approach was to trade just about all his draft picks for veteran players. His teams were really, really “experienced”

Allen’s career record was 118-54-5; his ’72 Redskins were NFC champs, losing 14-7 to Miami’s undefeated Dolphins in the Super Bowl that year.

Streaking and Slumping Starting Pitchers

Streaking: Eduardo Rodriguez, Boston Red Sox (12-4, 3.53 ERA, $1246)

Eduardo Rodriquez is the fourth most profitable starting pitcher in Major League Baseball (behind Mike Fiers, Kyle Freeland, and Blake Snell). Over his last six starts he owns an ERA of 1.97 and a WHIP of 1.00. It's also worth noting that the Under has cashed in his last eight starts.

"E-Rod" and the Sox are +150 underdogs tonight in The Bronx against Masahiro Tanaka and the Yankees.

Slumping: Sam Gaviglio, Toronto Blue Jays (3-8, 5.25 ERA, $-684)

Sam Gaviglio's first season in the majors has certainly been difficult - although it hasn't helped much that the Blue Jays totally gave up on 2018 right about the time he was added to their starting rotation. Gaviglio owns a team win/loss record of 1-8 in his last nine starts, and he's been especially bad in his last three outings with an ERA of 7.42 and a WHIP of 1.65.

Gaviglio and the Jays are +122 underdogs at home tonight against the visiting Rays and their stable of relief pitchers.


Progressive Wind Blowing Out

Last night's game between the Chicago White Sox and the Cleveland Indians ended with fireworks - a walkoff grand slam by Jason Kipnis. We are fully expecting those fireworks to continue tonight with a stiff 10 mile per hour wind blowing out to center field in the forecast.

It also doesn't hurt that James Shields gets the start for the White Sox - he and his 5.67 road ERA. And Josh Tomlin gets the starting assignment for the Tribe - and his 6.00 ERA at home this season.

A case can certainly be made for the full game Over 10 (-105), the seven innings Over 7.5 (-135), and the five innings Over 5.5 (-115).


Kerwin Danley

Kerwin Danley gets the home plate assignment tonight at Yankee Stadium for the game between the Red Sox and Yanks. Just like Chris Guccione last night, Danley has a substantial lean in his season results toward the Over. The Over is 17-8-1 in Danley's 26 games in pads this season, and after three straight Unders to start the year the Over is 17-5-1 in his last 23 overall.

Another interesting note - Danley has been behind the plate for two Masahiro Tanaka starts in his career, a 12-7 loss to the Texas Rangers earlier this season and a 10-4 loss to the Baltimore Orioles in 2017. Tanaka owns a personal ERA of 10.97 in those two career starts with Danley and could be in for another rough day today.

The full game over 8.5 is worth a look for tonight and perhaps a sprinkle on the road underdogs at +145.
