      • LEADING OFF: Cespedes still limping, Zimmerman eyes return
        June 12, 2017

A look at what's happening all around the majors Tuesday:

        YO DOWN

Just days after ending a six-week DL stint, Mets star outfielder Yoenis Cespedes is hobbling yet again, although the slugger isn't so concerned about his latest injury. Cespedes returned Saturday from a strained left hamstring but left Monday's game with a sore left heel. He's also been nagged by trouble in his quadriceps this season. Cespedes said there was nothing to worry about this time. He said the heel has bothered him for years, and that he expects to play in New York's next game. ''I'm just trying to be a little cautious,'' he said through a translator.

        RYAN TO GO?

Nationals manager Dusty Baker is hopeful slugger Ryan Zimmerman will return from a back injury in time to face Braves knuckleballer R.A. Dickey. Zimmerman is 12 for 36 (.333) with two home runs and five RBIs against Dickey lifetime. The rest of the Nats' active roster is batting just .240 with three homers against the veteran right-hander.

        UNBEATABLE

The Dodgers have won each of Clayton Kershaw's last seven starts, a streak they'll try to stretch against Cleveland. Kershaw (8-2, 2.20 ERA) hasn't lost a game since May 1 against the Giants and has 23 strikeouts in 14 innings over his last two starts. Trevor Bauer (5-5, 6.10) is up for the Indians.

        POWERED UP

The Blue Jays are back to doing what they do best: hitting the ball into the outfield seats. Toronto has homered in 33 of 38 games since the start of May, including five long balls during a three-game series at Seattle over the weekend. Josh Donaldson has powered the team of late, hitting five of his eight home runs this season since the start of June. He and the Jays will try to keep the surge going against Jake Odorizzi (4-3, 3.59) and the Rays.

        BIG GUY, BIG STREAK

CC Sabathia seeks his sixth straight victory when the Yankees face the Angels. Sabathia (7-2, 3.66) has a 1.11 ERA during his five-start winning streak and threw eight innings in an 8-0 win over Boston in his previous outing. JC Ramirez (6-4, 4.33) is up for Los Angeles.

        STRONG BREW

Jimmy Nelson gets the ball when NL Central-leading Milwaukee opens a four-game set against St. Louis. Nelson (4-3, 3.45) has struck out 27 in 21 innings over his past three starts and has a 2.16 ERA in his last seven outings. Lance Lynn (4-3, 2.88) is set to pitch for the Cardinals

          • Tuesday's Diamond Notes
            June 13, 2017

Hottest team: Mets (4-0 past four games)

The Mets pulled off a three-game sweep in Atlanta, which is nice, but not terribly impressive considering the Braves are a subpar team. A 6-1 win over the defending champion Cubs at Citi Field on Monday was certainly a solid victory, however, and the Mets pitching allowed exactly one run for the fourth consecutive outing. They'll look to keep it going in Tuesday's middle game against left-handed Jon Lester. They're catching the Cubs, one game below .500, at a good time. They're 3-14 over their past 17 road games, 1-5 in their past six against a right-handed starter and 0-7 in their past seven on the road vs. RHP. The Cubbies are also 1-5 over Lester's past six assignments away from the Friendly Confines. The Mets are just 2-6 over Zack Wheeler's past eight home outings, but 5-2 in his past seven at home against a team with a losing overall mark.

Coldest team Phillies (0-6 past six games)

The Phillies surprised behind Jerad Eickhoff in Monday's interleague series opener at Fenway Park, but they were still tripped up 6-5 in 11 innings as Dustin Pedroia lifted the home team to a win. It was Philadelphia's sixth consecutive setback, although three of their past four losses have come by a mere run. The Phillies have dropped six consecutive interleague games, they're 1-7 in their past eight interleague games vs. LHP and they're 0-4 in their past four tries against American League East squads. They are also a dismal 3-13 in their past 16 interleague road outings vs. LHP.

Hottest pitcher: Jason Vargas, Royals (8-3, 2.18 ERA)

Vargas puts his 8-3 record and 2.18 ERA on the line in Tuesday's visit to San Francisco. With Houston's Dallas Keuchel (9-0, 1.67 ERA) on the 10-day disabled list, Vargas has the best ERA in the majors among healthy pitchers. The Apple Valley, Calif. native has been decent on the road, going 3-2 with a 2.73 ERA over five starts with just seven walks and 23 strikeouts over 29 2/3 innings. However, Vargas has been a bit more hittable on the road than at home, posting a .257 opponent batting average on the road as opposed to a .227 mark at Kauffman Stadium. So far in June the southpaw has posted a 2-0 mark with a 1.29 ERA in two outings.

Coldest pitcher: Trevor Bauer, Indians (5-5, 6.10 ERA)

Bauer has a .500 record, which isn't horrible, but his ERA could certainly use a little bit of work. He is 3-1 at Progressive Field this season over five outings, but he has a 5.52 ERA with six home runs allowed in just 29 1/3 innings while the opposition is hitting .276 against him. He is a dismal 0-1 with a 7.20 ERA in two starts in the month of June, lasting a total of just five innings. Things certainly do not look to get easier for him on Tuesday, as he'll be opposed by Clayton Kershaw and the Dodgers.

Biggest UNDER run: Nationals (7-1 past eight games)

The 'under' certainly did not come in for the Nationals and total bettors on Monday, as the Braves and Nationals got together for a baseball game and a slow-pitch softball game broke out. When the dust settled it was Atlanta coming away with an 11-10 victory, which was surprising considering the Nationals had Stephen Strasburg on the hill. The 'over' result snapped a seven-game 'under' run by Washington. In fact, Nationals pitching had allowed just 19 total runs in the previous seven outings before being tagged for 11 runs. The 'under' will be put to the test again, as the 'over' is 7-1-1 over Joe Ross' past nine starts overall, including 6-0-1 in his past seven home starts against a team with a losing record. However, the under is 8-1-1 in Washington's past 10 at home, and 7-2 in their past nine following up a loss.

Biggest OVER run: Padres (7-0 past seven games, 9-1 past 10 overall)

The 'over' hit for the seventh consecutive outing in San Diego's 9-3 win against Cincinnati on Monday. In fact, the 'over' hit by the end of the second inning, allowing bettors to breathe easy. If only all wagers were so worry-free. With veteran retreads Scott Feldman and Clayton Richard on the hill Tuesday, another high-scoring game could be in the offing. The over is 4-0 in Cincinnati's past four, 6-0-1 in their past seven vs. LHP and 3-1-1 in Feldman's past five road outings. The over is 5-1 in San Diego's past six at home vs. RHP, 4-0 in their past four overall against a righty and 3-0-1 in Richard's past four assignments against the 'Nati.

Matchup to watch: Astros vs. Rangers

The Lone Star State rivalry rages on Tuesday at Minute Maid Park, and the Rangers look to stay hot and try and make up ground on their rivals. The Rangers kicked off the latest installment of the rivalry with a 6-1 win on Monday. After an ice-cold streak to follow their 10-game winning run from May 9-19, the Rangers are starting to heat up again. Texas has rattled off four wins in a row, including an impressive three-game road interleague sweep against the pitching-heavy Nationals. The Astros have cooled considerably, going 2-5 over their past seven outings since their impressive 11-game run from May 25 to June 5. They are plowing on despite losses to top pitchers Dallas Keuchel and Lance McCullers Jr.

Betcha didn’t know: The Rays and Blue Jays have already met 10 times this season, splitting those outings. Both teams have been playing well lately, but it's the pitching matchup to watch. Jacob Faria was summoned from Triple-A Durham to start Tuesday, as Matt Andriese (hip) is expected to be sidelined until August with a stress reaction in his hip. Faria posted a 6-1 mark with a 3.07 ERA with a whopping 84 strikeouts over just 58 2/3 innings with the Bulls. He'll be opposed by veteran Marco Estrada, who has been pounded for 11 runs and 16 hits in just 9 1/3 innings across two outings in June. The poundings could continue, as he is just 1-6 in his career against Tampa Bay.

Biggest public favorite: Red Sox (-250) vs. Phillies

Biggest public underdog: Royals (+120) at Giants

Biggest line move: Nationals (-185 to -220) vs. Braves

            • Cardinals part ways with former All-Star INF Peralta
              June 13, 2017

Jhonny Peralta's time in St. Louis has come to a disappointing end.

Peralta, a three-time All-Star and 15-year veteran who signed a four-year, $52 million contract with the Cardinals in November 2013, was granted his unconditional release by the team on Tuesday.

St. Louis designated Peralta for assignment on Friday after his disappointing start to the 2017 season. Peralta hit .204 (11-for-54) with zero home runs, zero RBIs and 13 strikeouts in 21 games.

Peralta finished 14th in National League MVP voting during his first season with the Cardinals in 2014, batting .263 with 21 homers and 75 RBIs in a career-high 157 games.

He hit .265 with 46 home runs and 175 RBIs in 415 games with St. Louis.

The longtime shortstop spent his first seven-plus seasons with the Cleveland Indians from 2003 to 2010 before being traded to the Detroit Tigers prior to the trade deadline.

He spent the next three-plus seasons in Detroit from 2010 through 2013 before signing with the Cardinals in free agency.

Peralta is a lifetime .267 hitter with 202 homers and 873 RBIs in 1,798 career games.

Additionally, the Cardinals recalled right-handed pitcher Sam Tuivailala from Triple-A Memphis and named left-handed pitcher Marco Gonzales as the 26th man for Tuesday's day-night doubleheader against the Milwaukee Brewers.

St. Louis (29-32) also optioned rookie infielder Paul DeJong to Memphis after Sunday's 6-5 win against the Philadelphia Phillies.

                • Wednesday’s six-pack

Phil Steele’s top six surprising teams for this college football season

                  6) UCLA— Are 2-8-1 vs spread in last 11 non-conference games.

                  5) Marshall— Went 3-9 LY, after a 3-year run of 33-8.

                  4) Texas— Were 3-6 in Big X LY, but outgained teams by 19.3 yds/game.

                  3) Oregon— Were 4-8 LY, after a 98-22 run. Have 17 starters back, new coach.

                  2) TCU— Also has 17 starters back, is #4 experience team in country. 12-3-1 vs spread in last 16 games as a road underdog.

                  1) Notre Dame— Have 15 starters back; since 2011, they’re 4-10 as a road favorite.

                  ***************************

                  Wednesday’s List of 13: Mid-week musings…….

                  13) Will the Warriors visit the White House? Delicate issue in today’s world.

Someone in the media tweeted Monday night that the team had voted “unanimously” to skip a White House visit, but it is unclear whether that is true or not. Clemson’s football team was in Washington DC Monday for their visit after they won the national championship LY.

CEO of the Pittsburgh Penguins said his team will accept, if invited to the White House, but in the NBA, this is a more volatile subject.

                  12) Hall of Fame pitcher John Smoltz was saying on TV the other night that when Joe West umpires games behind the plate, occasionally he will call a perfect pitch a ball early in the game, just to see how the pitcher would react, as if to say to the pitcher, “I’m in charge here.”

Smoltz didn’t seem terribly amused telling the story.

                  11) Speaking of Smoltz, he is a great example of how scouting is an inexact science. He was the 574th player taken in the 1985 draft (22nd round), then he was traded from Detroit to Atlanta on August 12, 1987, in exchange for Doyle Alexander. Detroit needed a pitcher for the stretch drive; they made the playoffs, but lost a Hall of Fame pitcher in the process.

                  10) In spring of 2016, Wisc-Milwaukee fired basketball coach Rob Jeter, despite fact that he had won 19+ games five of the last seven years- there was internal dissension- the longtime radio announcer later quit and ripped the new athletic director very publicly.

This past season, Milwaukee went 11-24 with its new coach, who somehow just got hired by Butler of the Big East (he is a former Butler assistant), so now Milwaukee will be looking for its third head coach in three years— it is not great to be looking for a new coach just before the July recruiting period.

                  9) Nick Pratto was the Kansas City Royals’ 1st round draft pick Monday; six short years ago, he hit a walk-off single to win the Little League World Series in Williamsport.

                  8) Do umpires own houses? No way they’re home much from March 1-October 1, thats seven months right there. Baseball teams are home half of the season, but not umpires- if they’re not married, seems pointless to own a house that you’re rarely in. Condos seem more likely.

                  7) An 11-year-old quarterback was offered a scholarship by University of Hawaii last weekend. The kid’s older brother played LB for the Rainbow Warriors- his father coached Marcus Mariota at St Louis HS. I mean, the kid doesn’t graduate high school for seven more years.

                  6) Quote of the Day, part 2, from Rory McIlroy:

“Really? We have 60 yards from left line to right line. You’ve got 156 of the best players in the world here, if we can’t hit it within that avenue, you might as well pack your bags and go home.

These are the widest fairways we’ve ever played in a U.S. Open. Even the first and second cut is another 10 yards on top of that. So if you’ve got 50 or 60 yards to hit into and you’re complaining about the fescue that’s wider than that, I don’t think that’s an issue.”

This was after some players complained about the complained about the length of the rough— it was cut down a little bit on Tuesday.

                  5) Marlins drafted NC State infielder Joe Dunand Jr in the 2nd round; he is Alex Rodriguez’ nephew. Dunand played SS at NC State, but the Marlins announced him as a 3B.

                  4) Kid who is a kicker at Central Florida has made 41 videos about what it is like to be a college athlete, and he put them on YouTube. Because the videos got over 10,000 visits, he could sell ads for the videos, but making money off them could jeopardize his amateur status, which seems both childish and hypocritical but that is today’s world.

The NCAA hasn’t gotten involved yet; let’s hope they let the kid do his thing.

                  3) Brewers called up pitching prospect Brandon Woodruff to start the first game of their twin bill Tuesday in St Louis, but his hamstring tightened up when he was warming up and he was scratched from the start, and went on the DL. Baseball players get hurt a lot.

Not often a guy goes on the major league DL before he ever appears in a game.

                  2) Cubs 14, Mets 3— Rough night for Mets’ pitcher Zach Wheeler; he faced 14 batters- 8 of them scored.

Cubs batted Anthony Rizzo leadoff; he scored twice and knocked in three runs. Ian Happ had a grand slam and four strikeouts, first big leaguer in two years (Derek Norris) to do that.

                  1) 28 of 60 players drafted in last year’s NBA Draft were born outside this country; supposed to lot less this year.

                  • LEADING OFF: Rizzo up 1st, Bellinger on 1st, Santana starts
                    June 13, 2017

A look at what's happening all around the majors Wednesday:

                    THINKING BIG

In their first season since Dexter Fowler's departure, the Cubs ranked 24th in the majors with a .306 on-base percentage from the leadoff spot. So on Tuesday night, 240-pound slugger Anthony Rizzo became the seventh Chicago player to start atop the batting order this year - and responded with a leadoff homer in a 14-3 rout of the Mets. Rizzo had two hits , three RBIs and a bases-loaded walk in his first career start batting leadoff. He's reached safely in 21 of his last 36 plate appearances. Cubs manager Joe Maddon plans to keep Rizzo in the leadoff spot Wednesday, and he's ready for an extended stay up there. ''You know what? Let's go on a run now,'' Rizzo said. ''That'd be great.''

                    WHO'S ON FIRST?

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts says rookie slugger Cody Bellinger will see the majority of time at first base with five-time All-Star Adrian Gonzalez out indefinitely due to a degenerative disk in his back. ''When he comes back, I don't know,'' Roberts said Tuesday, when Gonzalez was placed on the 10-day disabled list. Joc Pederson, just reinstated from the seven-day concussion DL, will play center field with Chris Taylor in left. The 35-year-old Gonzalez was also on the DL last month for the first time in his 14-year career after he tried to play through back and elbow injuries. Bellinger has lived up to advanced billing. He homered twice Tuesday night against Cleveland, giving him 17 home runs and 39 RBIs in 165 at-bats.

                    ENCORE

Minnesota right-hander Ervin Santana (8-3, 2.20 ERA) tries to improve his All-Star credentials when he faces Robinson Cano, Nelson Cruz and the visiting Mariners. Santana needed only 91 pitches to throw a four-hitter last Friday at San Francisco, his third shutout of the season. He also hit a three-run double in the 4-0 victory.

                    TOUGH ASSIGNMENT

Daniel Gossett is scheduled to make his major league debut for the Oakland Athletics against Miami Marlins right-hander Edinson Volquez (3-7, 3.41 ERA), who pitched a no-hitter in his most recent home start June 3. Volquez followed that up by tossing seven scoreless innings last Thursday in a 7-1 victory at Pittsburgh.

                    • MLB notebook: Brewers' Shaw reveals daughter's surgery
                      June 13, 2017

Milwaukee Brewers third baseman Travis Shaw told reporters on Tuesday that his newborn daughter underwent open-heart surgery last week.

Shaw had been away from the team since Thursday to tend to his family situation. The 27-year-old was reinstated prior to the team's opener of a doubleheader versus the St. Louis Cardinals.

"(Ryann) was born with a severe heart condition called hypoplastic left heart syndrome," Shaw said, per the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. "It's a pretty severe heart deformation. We knew this going in and I knew that she was going to have to have surgery.

"She had open-heart surgery on Friday. There were some complications and they had to go back in Saturday for a couple more surgeries. She's been stable ever since Saturday. She's making steady progress now."

Toronto Blue Jays second baseman Devon Travis had arthroscopic surgery to clean up cartilage in his right knee.

He has been on the disabled list since June 6 with a bone bruise and a cartilage injury. There was no indication of how long he will be out.

"It's going to be a while," Blue Jays manager John Gibbons said before his team's game against the Tampa Bay Rays.

--The Los Angeles Dodgers reinstated outfielder Joc Pederson from the seven-day concussion disabled list and placed first baseman Adrian Gonzalez on the 10-day DL with lower back discomfort.

Pederson has been sidelined for 16 games due to a concussion that he likely sustained following a scary collision with right fielder Yasiel Puig on Sept. 23. The players slammed into each other at high speed and the momentum carried Pederson toward the wall and his head hit the base of the fence.

The 25-year-old Pederson went 3-for-9 with two homers and four RBIs in three rehab appearances with Triple-A Oklahoma City. He is batting just .200 with two homers and 11 RBIs in 35 games with the Dodgers this season.

--The New York Mets placed shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera on the 10-day disabled list with a sprained left thumb.

The move comes one day after Cabrera went deep on two occasions for his sixth career multi-homer performance in a 6-1 victory over the Chicago Cubs. All was not rosy in that contest as the 31-year-old Venezuelan committed his 11th error of the season, which is four more than his total in 2016.

Utility man T.J. Rivera was recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas in a corresponding move. The 28-year-old is batting .255 with two homers and 13 RBIs in 40 games this season with the Mets.

--Nationals first baseman Ryan Zimmerman was back in the starting lineup for his team's contest against the visiting Atlanta Braves after missing the past three games with a back strain.

Zimmerman was batting fourth as the Nationals bid to snap a four-game home losing skid.

Zimmerman hurt his back while diving for a ball last Tuesday in Los Angeles against the Dodgers. He entered Tuesday's contest hitting a National League-best.365 with 19 doubles, 17 homers and 49 RBIs. He was third in the NL in doubles and tied for third in homers.

--Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Brandon Woodruff was scratched from his major league debut against the St. Louis Cardinals when he came down with right hamstring tightness while warming up in the bullpen.

Woodruff, who was 6-4 with a 4.12 ERA at Triple-A Colorado Springs, was replaced by left-hander Brent Suter. In four prior stints with Milwaukee this year, Suter was 0-0 with a 4.91 ERA in 7 1/3 innings.

Suter, who was recalled to serve as the 26th man for the day-night doubleheader, was 3-1 with a 4.11 earned run average for Colorado Springs in 2017.

--The Texas Rangers acquired left-hander Joely Rodriguez from the Philadelphia Phillies for a player to be named or cash considerations.

The Rangers promptly optioned Rodriguez to Triple-A Round Rock.

Rodriguez posted a 1-2 mark with a 6.33 ERA in 26 relief appearances this season with Philadelphia.

Hottest team: Rangers (5-0 last five) at Astros

Texas has certainly seen its ups and downs this season, but the Rangers are currently on the upswing. Following a three-game sweep of the Nationals this past weekend, the Rangers captured the first two games against the AL West-leading Astros at Minute Maid Park to extend their winning streak to five. This is the longest hot streak for Texas since stringing together 10 straight victories last month, but none of those wins came against a team with a winning record.

After getting swept by Houston earlier this month at home, Texas looks to return the favor this evening with Andrew Cashner taking the mound. The Rangers lost Cashner’s first four road starts this season, but the right-hander has rebounded in a big way by beating the Blue Jays and Nationals as an underdog of +155 or higher in his last two away appearances.

Coldest team: Orioles (0-6 last six) at White Sox

As the Yankees and Red Sox are ascending in the AL East, the Orioles are quickly going in the wrong direction. Baltimore looks to snap a six-game losing streak after dropping the first two games in Chicago, while coming off a 6-1 defeat to the White Sox on Tuesday. The Orioles’ pitching staff has been racked not only during this skid, but has allowed at least five runs in 12 of 13 games this month.

Right-hander Dylan Bundy tries to stop the bleeding for Baltimore, as the O’s are 1-5 in his previous six appearances. To make matters worse, Baltimore is winless in Bundy’s last three road starts, but he did beat the White Sox at home, 6-5 in early May as a -210 favorite.

Hottest pitcher: Michael Pineda, Yankees (7-3, 3.39 ERA)

New York continues to roll behind solid pitching as the Yankees have won four of Pineda’s last five starts. The right-hander shut down the Red Sox in his last start by tossing seven innings and allowing one run in a 9-1 victory. New York improved to 6-1 in his seven home outings, but the Yankees are 3-2 in his five road starts as he takes the mound against the Angels in Anaheim. Pineda beat the Angels in his lone start against Los Angeles last season, 6-3 as a -150 home favorite.

Coldest pitcher: Miguel Gonzalez, White Sox (4-7, 4.89 ERA)

Gonzalez faces the team that he spent the first four years of his career with, the Orioles. The right-hander owns a 9-15 record since joining Chicago prior to the 2016 season, as seven of those defeats have come since late April. In his last two starts against the Tigers and Indians on the road, Gonzalez allowed 16 hits and 10 earned runs in 10.2 innings of work, both defeats. However, the Sox are 2-0 in his two outings in the home underdog role, while Chicago has compiled a terrific 7-1 record in his past eight as a home ‘dog since July 2016.

Biggest OVER run: Padres (8-0 last eight)

You don’t normally associate long OVER streaks with the Padres, but San Diego has been scoring runs by the handfuls at home. In four of the first five contests on this homestand, the Padres have put across six runs or more, including a total of 15 runs in the first two wins against the Reds.

San Diego goes for the sweep of Cincinnati this afternoon with Jhoulys Chacin taking the mound. Chacin is riding a 7-1-1 stretch to the OVER in his last nine starts, while posting a miniscule 1.58 ERA at Petco Park in six home appearances.

Biggest UNDER run: Rangers (6-0 last six)

Not only Texas is the hottest team right now, but its pitching has helped carried them to a nice UNDER run. Through its five-game winning streak, the Rangers have allowed a total of nine runs against two of the top three offenses in baseball (Washington and Houston). We’ll see how Texas’ offense responds against right-hander Francis Martes, who is making his first Major League start after allowing four earned runs in 3.2 innings of relief against the Angels this past weekend.

Matchup to watch: Dodgers vs. Indians

Los Angeles broke a 2-2 tie by scoring five late runs to beat Cleveland, 7-5 in the series opener on Tuesday. The Dodgers have won eight straight starts by Clayton Kershaw after the ace posted seven innings of six-hit ball, while Los Angeles became the second National League team to reach the 40-win mark.

Another former Cy Young winner takes the mound at Progressive Field on Wednesday as Corey Kluber looks to stay hot for Cleveland. Kluber is fresh off a pair of quality outings in victories over the Athletics and White Sox, while the Tribe owns a perfect 4-0 record in his four home starts this season. Dating back to last June, the Indians have put together a sizzling 17-2 record in Kluber’s past 19 home outings, but has not faced a National League team at home in the regular season since losing to the Mets last April.

Brandon McCarthy counters for Los Angeles, as the righty has yielded five earned runs in his last four starts. However, the Dodgers are 0-2 in his past two trips to the mound as L.A. has plated only one run in those two defeats as they lost to Washington’s Max Scherzer and St. Louis’ Adam Wainwright. The Dodgers are riding a five-game winning streak, while L.A. has won five of its past six Game 2’s of a road series.

Betcha didn’t know: The Twins and Mariners did their best impression of putting together football scores that resembled the Vikings and Seahawks. In the opener of their series at Target Field, Seattle blasted Minnesota, 14-3, while the Twins returned the favor with a 20-7 demolition of the Mariners last night. It’s another high total between these two teams tonight (10 ½), as Twins’ ace Ervin Santana looks to restore some normalcy to the scoreboard after coming off a shutout of the Giants in his last appearance.

Biggest public favorite: Giants (-180) vs. Royals

Biggest public underdog: Dodgers (+130) at Indians

Biggest line move: Blue Jays (-130 to -140) vs. Rays
