WASHINGTON (AP) Max Scherzer struck out 13 and gave up three hits over 8 2/3 innings, leading the Washington Nationals over the San Diego Padres 5-1 on Friday night.

Bryce Harper, Trea Turner and Michael A. Taylor homered for the Nationals.

Scherzer (5-3) got pulled by acting manager Chris Speier in the ninth, and Koda Glover got his fourth save. Speier is filling while manager Dusty Baker is away this weekend to attend his son Darren's high school graduation in California.

Luis Perdomo (0-2) allowed three runs over six innings.

          ROCKIES 10, CARDINALS 0

DENVER (AP) - Rookie Antonio Senzatela threw eight sharp innings to grab a share of the major league lead in wins and Charlie Blackmon had a homer and RBI single as part of an eight-run eighth for Colorado.

Fresh off a 7-3 road swing, the Rockies kept right on rolling behind Senzatela, who joins Clayton Kershaw, Dallas Keuchel and Ervin Santana with seven victories.

Senzatela (7-1) scattered five hits and showed plenty of poise as the 22-year-old escaped trouble courtesy of four double plays.

Carlos Martinez (3-4) gave up three runs in 7 1/3 innings.

          ASTROS 2, ORIOLES 0

HOUSTON (AP) - Jake Marisnick and Carlos Beltran each homered for Houston to back a solid start by Joe Musgrove.

Musgrove (4-4) allowed four hits in seven innings before the bullpen closed it out to send the Orioles to their season-high fifth straight loss. Ken Giles threw a perfect ninth for his 14th save.

Kevin Gausman (2-4) yielded eight hits and two runs in 6 2/3 innings.

          BLUE JAYS 7, RANGERS 6

TORONTO (AP) - Devon Travis hit his second career grand slam and Toronto posted its fourth straight win.

Justin Smoak and Kendrys Morales also connected for the Blue Jays, who activated star infielders Josh Donaldson and Troy Tulowitzki off the disabled list.

Aaron Loup (2-0) pitched 1 1/3 innings. Roberto Osuna struck out Mike Napoli for his eighth save.

A.J. Griffin (4-2) was forced to leave in the second after suffering a strained left intercostal muscle. Texas has lost four straight.

          METS 8, PIRATES 1

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Neil Walker homered twice in his return to his hometown and Jacob deGrom gave New York's bullpen a needed rest.

Walker, who grew up in Pittsburgh and played seven seasons for the Pirates, had three hits and drove in four runs.

DeGrom (4-1) became the first Mets starter to get an out in the eighth inning since last June, pitching 8 1/3 innings and striking out 10. He also got two hits.

Chad Kuhl (1-5) took the loss.

          RAYS 5, TWINS 2

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Chris Archer struck out 11 while pitching into the eighth inning and Tampa Bay hit three home runs.

Archer (4-3) gave up two runs and five hits in 7 2/3 innings and reached double digits in strikeouts for the fourth time in five May starts. Logan Morrison, Kevin Kiermaier and Steven Souza Jr. all went deep, and Alex Colome got four outs for his 13th save.

Hector Santiago (4-3) gave up three runs and four hits in 5 1/3 innings.

          DIAMONDBACKS 4, BREWERS 2, 10 INNINGS

MILWAUKEE (AP) - Jake Lamb homered in the fourth inning and hit an RBI double in Arizona's two-run 10th, and the Diamondbacks extended their winning streak to five games.

Chris Owings scored the first run in the 10th on a wild pitch by reliever Wily Peralta (5-3) before Lamb added the insurance run by doubling to the right-field corner.

Chris Iannetta had tied it for Arizona with two outs in the ninth, hitting a solo homer off a 98 mph fastball from closer Corey Knebel.

T.J. McFarland (2-0) got the win after pitching a scoreless ninth. Fernando Rodney picked up his 13th save by tossing a scoreless 10th, but provided a couple nervous moments after allowing two flyouts to the warning track.

          MARLINS 8, ANGELS 5

MIAMI (AP) - Giancarlo Stanton homered off the retaining wall behind the center field fence, a shot estimated at 460 feet, to lead Miami.

Stanton hit his 12th homer his first since May 8. Justin Bour and J.T. Realmuto also connected for the Marlins and Christian Yelich hit three doubles.

Dan Straily (3-3) got the win and A.J. Ramos picked up his fifth save.

Jesse Chavez (4-6) allowed five runs in 3 2/3 innings. The Angels became the final major league team to play at Marlins Park, which opened in 2012.

          ATHLETICS 4, YANKEES 1

NEW YORK (AP) - Masahiro Tanaka struck out a career-high 13 to rebound from the worst stretch of his major league career but wound up a hard-luck loser when reliever Tyler Clippard's wild pickoff throw sparked a go-ahead, two-run eighth inning for Oakland.

Sean Manaea (3-3), starting because Kendall Graveman was scratched with a sore pitching shoulder, matched Tanaka and allowed four hits in seven innings.

Tanaka (5-4) left with the game scoreless after allowing Adam Rosales' one-out single in the eighth.

          RED SOX 3, MARINERS 0

BOSTON (AP) - Eduardo Rodriguez pitched six scoreless innings and Boston won its season-high fifth in a row.

Rodriguez (4-1) went six innings and Craig Kimbrel earned his 13th save.

Yovani Gallardo (2-5) went 5 1/3 innings for Seattle, which has won just one of its last seven.

          ROYALS 6, INDIANS 4

CLEVELAND (AP) - Jorge Bonifacio's two-run double off Andrew Miller broke an eighth-inning tie and lifted Kansas City.

Brandon Moss hit a three-run homer in the fourth and Mike Moustakas' solo home run in the fifth tied the game.

Lorenzo Cain started the winning rally with a single off Bryan Shaw (1-1).

Mike Minor (2-1) pitched two scoreless innings. Kelvin Herrera got his 10th save.

          REDS 5, PHILLIES 2

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Tim Adleman tossed eight innings of one-hit ball and Adam Duvall and Scott Schebler homered for Cincinnati.

Andres Blanco's first-inning single was all Philadelphia got off Adleman (3-2). The Phillies are 5-21 since an 11-9 start.

Raisel Iglesias struck out Maikel Franco with two runners on for his ninth save.

Aaron Nola (2-2) went six innings.

          • Saturday’s six-pack

Some interesting pointspreads for Labor Day weekend college football games:

            — Oregon State @ Colorado State (-2)

            — Boston College (-2) @ Northern Illinois

            — Colorado State vs Colorado (-8) (@ Denver)

            — South Carolina (-4) @ NC State

            — Kentucky (-12) @ Southern Miss

            — Temple @ Notre Dame (-13)

            ******************************

            Saturday’s List of 13: Clearing out a cluttered mind……..

            13) This from the Associated Press: A naked man in Florida was arrested driving away from a storage center in a stolen pickup truck loaded with a statue of a large, black and white checkered swan that’s worth tens of thousands of dollars.

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd had this to say: “Look folks. Where are you going to hide a five-foot tall, checkered swan? If someone’s harboring this swan and not telling us, we’re going to put them in jail. And we hope when we find them, they have clothes on.”

            Alrighty then……..

            12) Interesting article in the Houston Chronicle Friday on the guy who takes care of the pitching mound at Minute Maid Park in Houston. Important job that we don’t think about a lot— this guy has worked for the Astros for 46 years as a groundskeeper- the pitchers swear by the job he does keeping the mound, and pitchers are particular about their workplace.

            11) Lonzo Ball isn’t going to do a pre-draft workout for the Celtics, who have the first pick in the NBA Draft; what the hell happens if Boston drafts Ball?

            10) Joe Davis is the Dodgers’ play-by-play guy; he is very good, also does basketball on FS1, is just excellent at his job. The thing is, he is only 29 years old, which doesn’t seem possible. He is replacing the greatest baseball announcer ever (Vin Scully) but is doing it very well.

            9) ESPN signed Chip Kelly as an analyst for its ESPN2 football coverage, which could be very interesting. Curious to see what the former Oregon-Eagles coach has to say.

            8) Tampa Bay Rays had 521 strikeouts thru 50 games, the most by any team ever thru 50 games, 26 more than the next-highest, last year’s Astros.

            7) Rangers faced four Boston relievers in the last three innings Thursday nite; all nine batters struck out. In all, 20 of the 27 Texas outs in that game came on strikeouts.

            6) Mississippi State had two basketball players transfer this week: Mario Kegler and Eli Wright. Rough week for Ben Howland. Bulldogs had the 2nd-least experienced team in the country last year; Kegler played 70% of the time, Wright 30%. Pretty big loss.

            5) When Joe Gibbs coached the Redskins, he had a fine schedule for various offenses; one of the fines was $100 for spraining your ankle if you didn’t have it wrapped/taped beforehand. This is 25-30 years ago, so $100 fine was more than it sounds like now.

If a player missed a trainer’s/doctor’s appointment, the fine was $300.

            4) The Ben Simmons infomercial was on Showtime again Friday afternoon; its been almost a year since he was drafted and we still have no idea how good the kid is. We know Simmons is already really rich; we’ve heard he’s grown two inches and is just about 7-feet tall, but still no one knows if he’s going to be any good. He played one year at LSU and his team was a disaster; he is going to be needed to be a team leader— can he do that?

            3) Golden State is $260, Cleveland +$220 in the NBA Finals which don’t start until Thursday (why?!?!?!) and could stretch out for 18 days, if it goes seven games.

            2) There is nothing in sports- NOTHING as good as overtime in a Game 7 of the Stanley Cup playoffs. Had one of those Thursday night, as the Penguins broke the heart of everyone in Canada with a 3-2 double OT win over the Ottawa Senators. Tremendous drama.

People in Ottawa greeted the Senators when they landed at the airport at 3am, sitting thru the rain to applaud their team after a great season.

            1) There have been 27 major league games rained out this season, more than all of last year.

            • LEADING OFF: Homer Simpson hits Hall of Fame, Keuchel back
              May 26, 2017

A look at what's happening all around the majors Saturday:

              D'OH!

Fans at the Hall of Fame figure to be animated when Homer Simpson gets ''inducted'' at Cooperstown. An exhibit dedicated to ''The Simpsons'' will open, 25 years after the popular episode ''Homer at the Bat'' originally aired. That show featured the guest voices of nine All-Stars - actual Hall of Famers Ozzie Smith and Wade Boggs, who appeared in cartoon form, will be on hand for the ceremony.

              HOWDY, HOUSTON

Astros ace Dallas Keuchel is expected to come off the 10-day disabled list and start at home vs. Baltimore. The lefty has been out because of a pinched nerve in his neck. He's 7-0 with a 1.84 ERA, including a dominant 3-0 mark with a 0.94 ERA at Minute Maid Park. Also set to return is catcher Brian McCann, who's been on the concussion DL.

              START ME UP

After resting his arm for two weeks, Yankees closer Aroldis Chapman has been cleared to start playing catch. The 29-year-old lefty, who last year helped the Chicago Cubs win their first World Series title since 1908, has not thrown in a game since May 13 because of tendinitis and bursitis in his pitching shoulder. Chapman is 1-0 with a 3.55 ERA and seven saves in eight chances this year. He was on the DL with left shoulder inflammation for more than five weeks in 2011 while with Cincinnati, and he said this felt similar.

              TRY AGAIN

With its rotation suddenly missing some key members, the Athletics will call up Jharel Cotton for a start at Yankee Stadium. Cotton (3-4, 5.68) was demoted to the minors earlier this month after an inconsistent beginning to the season. Dominant at times, Cotton has also been prone to giving up home runs, including five over his final two starts before being sent to Triple-A. Oakland needs every arm it can get with right-handers Kendall Graveman and Jesse Hahn both likely headed to the disabled list.

              OLD FRIENDS

Arizona ace Zack Greinke will face his former team in a game at Milwaukee, as will Brewers starter Chase Anderson. Greinke (6-2, 2.82) has won all four of his starts this month, striking out 38 and walking just four over 30 1/3 innings. The right-hander hasn't allowed an earned run in his last 12 2/3 innings against the Brewers. Anderson (2-1, 4.25) allowed six runs in four innings in his last start, a 13-6 loss to the Cubs.

              • MLB notebook: Brewers' Braun back on disabled list
                May 26, 2017

Milwaukee Brewers left fielder Ryan Braun was placed on the 10-day disabled list Friday, just five days after being activated.

Braun re-injured his left calf during Thursday's loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks. He was on the DL for an injury to the same calf before being activated on Sunday. The injury occurred as Braun chased down a high fly ball in the third inning.

Braun played in just three games -- going 0-for-9 at the plate -- during his brief return from the DL. Brewers manager Craig Counsell rested him Wednesday prior to Thursday's injury.

Milwaukee activated right-hander Junior Guerra from the 10-day disabled list to fill the roster opening. Guerra, who is returning from his own calf issues, was slated to start Friday's game.

--The Toronto Blue Jays activated third baseman Josh Donaldson and shortstop Troy Tulowitzki from the disabled list before their game with the Texas Rangers.

Donaldson had been out since April 13 with a strained right calf and Tulowitzki had been out since April 21 with a strained right hamstring.

The Blue Jays had optioned outfielder Dwight Smith Jr. to Triple-A Buffalo on Wednesday after the game in Milwaukee. They also optioned right-hander Cesar Valdez to Buffalo on Friday.

--Former Los Angeles Dodgers manager Tommy Lasorda underwent surgery to replace his pacemaker on Thursday.

The Dodgers announced Friday on Twitter that the 89-year-old Lasorda is "doing well" after the procedure.

Lasorda has been hospitalized since early this month. He appeared at Dodger Stadium on May 3 as part of a ceremony to honor legendary broadcaster Vin Scully.

--The Cleveland Indians will unveil the Frank Robinson statue in Heritage Park at Progressive Field on Saturday, commemorating his career as one of baseball's pioneers.

Robinson, now 81, became the first African-American manager in major league history on April 8, 1975, as a player-manager for the Indians. He served two years in that capacity and as the Indians' manager alone in 1977.

Robinson played 21 seasons in the majors for the Cincinnati Reds, Baltimore Orioles, Los Angeles Dodgers, Angels and Indians. He hit 586 home runs -- 10th all-time -- and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1982.

                • News flash: Cubs stay classy in 'Anchorman' road trip spoof
                  May 26, 2017

LOS ANGELES (AP) The Chicago Cubs kept it classy on their way to open a road trip at Dodger Stadium, with the World Series champions dressing as characters from the Will Ferrell comedy ''Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy.''

Manager Joe Maddon colored his gray hair a dark brown and dressed in a suit and red tie in a nod to Burgundy, the San Diego TV news anchor played by Ferrell in the 2004 comedy. Burgundy's nightly signoff was ''You stay classy, San Diego.''

''It was a Maaco job,'' he said, referring to the auto painting business. ''I scratched my head on the airplane, I still can't get my fingernails clean. That brown paint bedded deeply in my nail bed.''

Outfielder Kyle Schwarber donned a white cowboy hat with a suit similar to sportscaster Champ Kind in the 1970s-set movie. Pitcher John Lackey wore a red suit and white cowboy hat, while pitcher Jon Lester dressed in a bright blue suit and a striped tie.

''The guys had a great time. It was really well done,'' Maddon said before Friday's game against the Dodgers.

Missing from the trip was third baseman Tommy La Stella, who Maddon said is a dead ringer for Brick Tamland, the Action News Team's not-very-bright but good-hearted meteorologist played by Steve Carell in the movie.

''That would have been perfect,'' Maddon said.

He said strength and conditioning coach Tim Buss ''stole the show'' in a bright blue bathing suit and orange bathrobe with a stuffed tiger head dangling from his right shoulder, along with a bushy mustache, brown wig and sunglasses.

''Above and beyond,'' Maddon said. ''I'm really happy for the notoriety that he's achieving based on his representation of Mr. Burgundy pool side.''

The Cubs will do it all over again on Wednesday night when they return to Chicago after concluding a three-game series in San Diego.

Maddon said he went online and found two vintage clothing stores in Burgundy's town that he plans to visit on Tuesday.

He's known for coming up with themes on road trips. In a previous visit to Los Angeles, the Cubs wore footed pajamas.

                            • Weekend Outlook
                              May 26, 2017

Chicago Cubs (25-21) at LA Dodgers (28-20)
Scheduled Rotation: Arrieta (5-3) vs. Wood (5-0), Lackey (4-4) vs. McCarthy (4-1), Lester (3-2) vs. Kershaw (7-2)
Series Price: Dodgers -160, Cubs +135

Both these teams may end up in the National League Championship Series again like last season, but if you've been betting them every day your profits are in the minus. The Dodgers, eight games above .500, are -1.9 units on the season. The Cubs are four games above .500, but are -5.8 units.

They're the top two rated teams in the National League but aren't living up to expectations so far as we head into the final weekend of May. However, it's easily the most intriguing series of the weekend and Station Casinos has posted the Dodgers as short -160 favorites to take at least two of three at Dodger Stadium.

The World Series hangover for the Cubs appears to be coming to end. They've won three straight and thanks to the Brewers dropping four in a row and the Cardinals losing six of eight, the Cubs have finally reached first-place in the NL Central. They've gone 11-10 on the road and they'll find themselves underdogs in all three games over the weekend which closes out Sunday with a date against Clayton Kershaw. The Cubs are 4-14 in their last games as underdogs.

The Dodgers statistically look like the best team in baseball but they can't catch the first-place Rockies (MLB-best +15.7 units) or second-place Arizona (+11.7 units, second-best). Dodger Stadium is once again helping the home team have one of the best team ERA's in baseball and so far they're No. 1 at 3.37. They've also got 3B Justin Turner leading the majors with a .379 batting average. It's a tough lineup to face and they lead baseball with a +64 run differential.

Last season the Dodgers took a 2-1 lead in the NLCS, including a brilliant 1-0 win by Kershaw in Game 2, but the Cubs charged back to win the next three. The two teams met again in April with the Cubs taking two of three at Wrigley Field, a series that didn't feature Kershaw and did feature Jon Lester who isn't in the rotation this weekend.

The last four meetings have stayed 'under' the total and the run extends to eight of the past 11 meetings and 18 of the past 23. This season the Cubs have gone 28-16-2 to the 'over', which is the second best 'over' ratio in baseball behind the Mets (29-10-2).

The Dodgers are annually one of the best 'under' teams at home, but they're 13-12-1 to the 'over' this season while winning 18 of 26. Considering the pitching match-ups and how well the Dodgers play at home and the Cubs team rating sliding since the beginning of the season, -160 with the Dodgers to win the series appears cheap by about 20 cents.

                              Baltimore (25-20) at Houston (32-16)
Scheduled Rotation: Gausman (2-3) vs Musgrove (3-4), Miley (1-2) vs. Keuchel (7-0), Bundy (5-3) vs. Montgomery (2-3)
Series Price: Astros -260, Orioiles +215

Baltimore is an impressive 15-7 at home, but are just 10-13 on the road and currently ride a four game losing streak. Houston's +11.4 units of profit is the most in the American League. The 'under' has occurred in 13 of the past 19 meetings. When they met in almost the same weekend last season at Houston, the Astros pulled off the sweep and when they met in August the Astros took three of four at Camden Yards.

                              Texas (24-24) at Toronto (21-26)
Scheduled Rotation: Griffin (4-1) vs. Bolsinger (0-2), Darvish (5-2) vs. Estrada (3-2), Cashner (1-4) vs. Biagini (1-2)
Series Price: Blue Jays -160, Rangers +135

Toronto pulled off a 3-0 sweep against Texas in the American League Division Series last season and they've won seven of the past nine meetings. The Blue Jays are on a run right now of winning eight of 11 at home and keep note that they've won eight of their last 10 as a favorite. Following a 10-game winning streak, the Rangers have now lost four of their last five, including the Red Sox just completed three game sweep at Fenway Park. The biggest hope here is that we get Rougned Odor/Jose Bautista II.

Oakland (21-25) at NY Yankees (27-17)
Scheduled Rotation: Gravemand (2-2) vs. Tanaka (5-3), Manaea (2-3) vs. Sabathia (4-2), Triggs (5-3) vs. Pineda (5-2)
                              Series Price: Yankees -270

The Yankees are 15-7 at home while the A's are 6-15 on the road, which is part of the reason for such a high series price. Last season both teams were swept on the road. The A's won all three at Yankees Stadium in April and the Yankees returned the favor in May winning all four in Oakland. The A's are currently on a 16-6 'over' run.

Kansas City (19-27) at Cleveland (24-21)
Scheduled Rotation: Kennedy (0-4) vs. Clevinger (2-1), Vargas (5-3) vs. Salazar (3-4), Duffy (4-3) vs. Tomlin (2-6)
Series Price: Indians -275, Royals +230

The Royals get their top three starters on the mound this weekend, but the Royals have lost their last eight meetings in Cleveland. The two squads met in Kansas City earlier this month with the Indians taking two of three and all three stayed 'under' the number. The total is the theme to follow here as these are the two best 'under' teams in baseball. The Royals have lost six of their last nine, but the +270 to win the series is attractive just because of the KC starters.

                              Seattle (21-27) at Boston (25-21)
Scheduled Rotation: Gallardo (2-4) vs. Rodriguez (3-1), Lawrence (0-3) vs. Johnson (1-0), Bergman (1-2) vs. Porcello (3-5)
Series Price: Red Sox -270, Mariners +225

Over the total is the theme here with Boston going 'over' in 14 of its last 17 and the high side has gone 9-2-1 in the past 12 meetings with Seattle at Fenway Park. Boston comes in on a four game win streak while Seattle has lost five of its last six.

Tampa Bay (25-25) at Minnesota (25-18)
Scheduled Rotation: Archer (3-3) vs. Santiago (4-2), Odorizzi (3-2) vs. Mejia (1-1), Cobb (4-4) vs. Santana (7-2)
Series Price: Rays -115, Twins -105

The Twins (+7.7 units) have to be the least talked about first-place team in baseball. It's likely because everyone has them in their pool to fade first among the division leaders. But they're holding steady at the top while the rest of the division plays .500 or less ball. Minnesota has won six of its last seven, including its last four which ended with a home sweep over Baltimore. The Rays also aren't getting talked about much but their 25-25 record is impressive compared to preseason expectations. They come in winning six of their last nine, including the last five staying 'under.' However, the 'over' has been the play in this series with 11 of the past 12 meetings going high. The Twins are hot and they're an underdog at home in the series with their ace anchoring on Sunday? I'll bite for sure.

St. Louis (23-21) at Colorado (31-18)
Scheduled Rotation: Martinez (3-3) vs. Senatela (6-1), Wainwright (4-3) vs. Freeland (5-2), Lynn (4-2) vs. Marquez (3-2)
Series Price: Rockies -130, Cardinals +110

The Cardinals have a better record on the road (11-8) than they do at home (12-13) and are currently on a 10-2 road run with the two losses coming on the just completed series loss at Dodger Stadium. The Cards have lost six of their last eight overall. The Rockies big key to success this season has been jumping out their opponents in Game 1 of a series going 12-3. The Cards have gone 5-10 in those situations. The series price is cheap with the Rockies by 15 cents.

                              • Saturday's Diamond Notes
                                May 27, 2017

Hottest team: Rockies (5-1 past six games, 7-3 past 10 at home)

The Rockies stayed hot in a showdown with the Cardinals on Friday night, knocking around the St. Louis bullpen to run away to a 10-0 victory. Antonio Senzatela ran his record to 7-1 while lowering his ERA to 3.19, besting Carlos Martinez in a matchup between two potential All-Stars. Now it's Kyle Freeland's turn on Saturday. The Rockies are 6-1 in Freeland's past seven starts and they're 5-1 in their past six games against right-handed starting pitching. In addition, they're 4-1 in their past five against teams with a winning record and 7-2 in their past nine at Coors Field against teams with a winning overall mark.

Coldest team Mariners (1-6 past seven games overall)

The Mariners have been hit by the injury bug this season and it is finally starting to catch up to them. They have dropped six of their past seven outings, although pitching hasn't been the problem. A lack of offense has done them in, as the M's are averaging just 1.3 runs scored game over the past seven outings. They hit rock bottom in a 3-0 shutout at the hands of Eduardo Rodriguez and the Red Sox on Friday night. The M's are 1-7 over their past eight road games, 0-5 in their past five against the American League East and 2-8 in their past 10 games on Saturdays.

Hottest pitcher: Dallas Keuchel, Astros (7-0, 1.84 ERA)

The southpaw is making his way back from the 10-day disabled list after recovering from a neck injury. He looks to stay unbeaten against an Orioles team which has flatlined, losing five in a row while averaging just 2.2 runs per game during the unimpressive span. Keuchel is looking like the pitcher who won the American League Cy Young award in 2015 rather than the left-hander who fumbled his way to a 9-12 record and 4.55 ERA in 2016. The Astros are 16-5 in Keuchel's past 21 starts overall, 29-9 across his past 38 home outings and 4-1 in his past five assignments against teams with a winning overall record.

Coldest pitcher: Bronson Arroyo, Reds (3-4, 6.75 ERA)

Arroyo has coughed up 11 earned runs and 17 hits over his past two outings, both losses, and his ERA has shot up to 6.75 as a result. The Reds won Friday's series opener in Philadelphia, but they're still just 2-6 in their past eight road games. They're also 1-4 in Arroyo's past five outings against a team with a winning overall record and 2-6 in his past eight against teams with a losing overall mark. The good news for Arroyo is that the Reds have won four of the past five meetings, but they are also 8-21 in their past 29 trips to the City of Brotherly Love.

Biggest UNDER run: Yankees (5-0 past five games overall)

The Yankees fell to the Athletics 4-1 in Friday's series opener as injury replacement Sean Manaea had it going on. The Yankees are averaging just 2.8 runs per game over the past eight outings while yielding 2.8 runs per game over the past five contests. The under is 14-6-2 in the past 22 starts at home by CC Sabathia, 11-5-1 in the past 17 starts overall while going 9-3 in their past 12 games against American League West Division clubs. The under is also 4-0 in New York's past four against a team with a losing overall record.

Biggest OVER run: White Sox (7-3 past 10 games overall)

The Pale Hose have cracked out the big sticks over the past couple of weeks, averaging 5.93 runs per game over the past 15 outings. The 'over' is 10-4-1 during the impressive span. They have a doubleheader on tap for Saturday, including a meeting with Michael Fulmer at 2:10 p.m. ET. The over is 6-1 in Chicago's past seven against right-handed starters and 4-0-2 in their past six showings at U.S. Cellular Field. The over is 10-4-2 over the past 16 overall while rolling up an impressive 6-0-1 mark in Derek Holland's past seven showings.

Matchup to watch: Rockies vs. Cardinals

Many expected the Cardinals to be in the postseason picture, but not many predicted big things for the Rockies. Colorado has looked like a legitimate contender with outstanding pitching across the board. Are the Rockies turning the corner and showing staying power? Well, their 10-0 victory against the Cardinals certainly served notice to the rest of the league. St. Louis is 30-14 in the past 44 meetings between the two side. If they can beat Adam Wainwright it would really mean they're turning a corner. The Cards are 7-0 in Waino's past seven outings against the Rockies.

Betcha didn’t know: Atlanta has struggled this season, but Michael Foltynewicz has been a bright spot lately. Although he has a 3-4 record overall, he's posted an impressive 3.86 ERA Foltynewicz has won three straight starts to turn things around. He'll look to keep it up against the Giants, a team he is 2-0 with a 1.32 ERA in two career starts. His counterpart Ty Blach, a replacement for the injured Madison Bumgarner, has rattled off wins in two straight himself. The Braves have dropped nine of their past 14 games at AT&T Park, so it might be advantage Blach in his seventh start of the season.

Biggest public favorite: Nationals (-240) vs. Padres

Biggest public underdog: Reds (+135) at Phillies

Biggest line move: Tigers - Game 1 (-110 to -130) at White Sox
