I have cooled off since my start. Lets get a new streak started.
St Louis vs Pittsburgh
Playoff baseball at it's finest was on display last night as the teams didn't score until the 9th inning. I see more playoff type baseball in this one. Neither starter is in good form right now, but that should change tonight as both starters have had good success vs their opponents tonight.
Michael Wacha has faced the Pirates 6 times in his career and has a 1.89 ERA in those starts, while in 3 starts this year he has posted a 1.93 ERA. Charlie Morton has faced the Cards once this year and twice last year and he has an 0.94 ERA in those starts.
Wacha has a 3.12 ERA on the road, while Morton has pitched well at home with a 3.49 ERA. The pressure is on the offenses here vs two starters that hey have not hit well vs. That's a good combination for an Under play.
Play St Louis/ Pittsburgh Under 7.5
Oakland vs Los Angeles
The Angels come in having won 6 in a row and are right here in the mix for the final playoff spot as they sit just a half a game behind Houston. The A's come in at 27 games under .500 for the year and have won just 1 of their last 9 games overall. Which side is the motivation on/ Hmmm, that's a tough one. LOL
The Angels cannot afford to lose anymore games and are playing like it. Tonight the face Chris Bassitt, who is just 1-7 on the year and hasn't been pitching all that well of last as he comes in with an 0-3 mark and a 5.14 ERA in his last 3 starts. On the road this year he is 0-2 with a 4.32 ERA.
The Angels will counter with Nick Tropeano, who comes in with a 3.29 ERA in his last 3 starts. He does have a 5.66 ERA at home, but he is taking on an A's offense that has given Bassitt just 2.36 rpg worth of support that year. They just do not score for this guy.
Bottom line is that the Angels are hot and need this one badly, while the A's are working out their postseason vacations.
Play LA Angels -163 over Oakland
