    Armadillo: Saturday's six-pack

-- Dodger fans got the good news last night; Vin Scully is coming back next for his 67th season behind the mike; he's an American institution.

-- Illinois fired football coach Tim Beckman a week before the season started; he was 12-25 in three years. Lawsuits will follow; Beckman still wants to get paid.

-- Thru Thursday, 694 entrants already signed up for the Westgate Superbook NFL handicapping contest; they're expecting over 1,000 contestants.

-- 13,622 fans for Royals-Rays last night; Friday nite high school football started.

-- Former UCLA/St John's hoop coach Steve Lavin signed on with FOX Sports 1, not ESPN. Lavin would've been an excellent addition for ESPN.

-- Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans ten years ago today; doesn't seem possible.

    **********

Armadillo: Saturday's List of 13: Clearing out a cluttered mind.......

    13) Red Sox 6, Mets 4 (10)-- Weird game; catcher Blake Swihart hit an inside-park HR in 10th inning for go-ahead run, but ball appeared to hit over the CF fence and probably would've been called a homer had Swihart been thrown out at the plate. Boston pitchers walked 12 guys but still won; that doesn't happen much.

    12) Swihart is 28th catcher to hit an inside-the-park homer (only Dan Wilson and Gary Carter have hit two) and Swihart is the only catcher to hit one in extra innings.

There have been 16 other extra-innings inside-the-park homers since 1973 with Angel Pagan's walk-off against the Rockies being the most recent in 2013.

    11) Big week for the Ross family in Washington this week; Tyson Ross won for the Padres Wednesday, then younger brother Joe won for the Nationals the next night.

    10) Seattle Mariners fired GM Jack Zduriencik this week; manager Lloyd McClendon won't be too far behind him. Mariners' payroll this year is $123,225,843- this team should not be under .500.

    9) Pirates won Francisco Liriano's last 11 starts; he also had a start in there that was rained out in the second inning. Blue Jays won RA Dickey's last seven starts.

    8) Looks like Jeremy Maclin is going to help solve the Chiefs' WR issues; no WR caught a TD pass for the Chiefs LY, which is hard to believe but is true.

    7) Speaking of the Chiefs, their OC Doug Pederson is the answer to a trivia question. He was the winning QB in the game when Don Shula became the NFL's all-time winningest coach, relieving Scott Mitchell in a 1993 game Miami won 19-14.

    6) Watched an interesting special about former Batman star Adam West getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this week; Batman was a big TV hit from 1966-69 that has been made into several movies in recent years. West's career slumped after that but thanks to doing voiceovers on animated shows, he made a big comeback and it was good to see him get honored like that. When I was a kid, I loved watching Batman

    5) Big day in Saratoga today; American Pharoah is running in the Travers; going to be a huge crowd and a lot of fun. Was at a birthday party at Saratoga National golf course last night (what a great place!!!); this is Saratoga's best weekend of the summer.

    4) NFL coaches go for it on 4th down a lot in preseason because it creates situations you can't re-create in practice; once the regular games start, 95% of coaches will go back into their conservative shells and kick the ball all the time.

Teams don't hit much in practice anymore, so short yardage situations are important for coaches in the exhibition games.

    3) If any NFL preseason games are worth watching, it is this week's games; starters get more time than in any other preseason week. Next week's games will be awful, as teams focus on finalizing their roster and preparing for their Week 1 openers, all of which will be analyzed on the NFL page of this very excellent website soon.

    2) Jon Lester's last six starts were all at Wrigley Field; tonight at Dodger Stadium he makes his first road start since July 18.

    1) Interesting college football game on ESPN at 3:30 today; North Dakota State at Montana, I think Brent Musburger (a Montana native) is on the call. State has an NFL prospect at QB, Montana has a coach who has pioneered a lot of the spread offense we see in bigtime college ball today. This game is well worth watching.

            ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MLB betting cheat sheet: The Wright Stuff
            ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The New York Mets are batting a major league-best .402 over the last seven days heading into Friday's action.

Here's a comprehensive look at betting notes for the weekend major-league schedule:

            The Wright Stuff

David Wright returned to the Mets lineup on Tuesday, and he hit a home run in his first at bat. The Mets have been tearing the cover off the ball, batting a major league best .402 over the last seven days. New York has won seven in a row heading into Friday's game versus Boston, and there may be no end in sight as their next nine games come against teams with a losing record.

            Home of the Braves

Atlanta is not a popular team with the betting public, and more often than not they are an underdog even at home. The Braves have managed to win six of their last 10 home games, and they are 33-26 overall at home this season. They host the Yankees this weekend, and they will most certainly be an underdog in all three games.

            Cruz Control

Seattle's Nelson Cruz has seized control of the home run race. His 39 homers so far are four more than Baltimore's Chris Davis who is second in the majors. Cruz is on a tear in the second half, batting .346 since the All Star Break. The Mariners are in Chicago this weekend, and John Danks will start Game 1, and Cruz is batting .304 with a home run and 4 RBIs lifetime versus Danks.

            Hitting Notes

            * Michael Cuddyer got off to a slow start with the Mets, but he's really picked up the pace since the All Star break. The 36 year old was 7-for-11 with a pair of home runs and six RBIs in a four game series at Philadelphia, and he's batting .350 in August.

            * Mike Trout has only hit one home run in August, and that was three weeks ago. He's batting just .205 this month, and he may have fallen behind Josh Donaldson in the AL MVP race.

            Pitching Notes

            * Mike Fiers pitched a no-hitter against the Dodgers in his last start, and he's scheduled to go Saturday in Minnesota. He's faced the Twins twice already this year, pitching well in both games despite a record of 0-1 with a 2.38 ERA.

            * Julio Teheran has become quite underrated this year, and his overall numbers (9-6, 4.29 ERA) don't exactly stand out. He has been dominant at home though, going 7-1 with a 2.55 ERA in 13 starts. He will start Sunday at home against the Yankees.

            Totals Streak

            * The Phillies have been getting crushed lately, losing six of their last seven home games. All seven of those games went over the total, and the Phillies have trended over at a rate of 27-6-4 in their last 37 home games.

            Injury Notes

            * It's a bit of good news vs. bad news for C.C. Sabathia, as the left-hander has been told he will not require surgery on his injured knee. The bad news is that he may be relegated to the bullpen after going 4-9 with a 5.27 ERA as a starter.

            * Adam Jones is banged up after crashing into a wall in Kansas City on Thursday, and his status for Friday's game remains uncertain.

            Weather Notes

            * Wind will be blowing in from rightfield at around 12 miles per hour in Arlington when the Texas Rangers host the Baltimore Orioles Saturday.

MLB roundup: Kershaw strikes out 14 in Dodgers win

LOS ANGELES -- Clayton Kershaw struck out 14, sparking the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 4-1 victory over the Chicago Cubs before 44,874 at Dodger Stadium on Friday night.

Kershaw (11-6), who is unbeaten in his last 10 starts, gave up a run on three hits with a walk in eight innings. Although he had his string of scoreless innings at home halted at 31 1/3, when Anthony Rizzo homered in the fourth inning, Kershaw retired 14 of the next 15 batters after the Cubs first baseman's home run. Kershaw fanned Chicago third baseman Kris Bryant three times.

Closer Kenley Jansen worked a perfect ninth for his 26th save in 28 opportunities.

Dodgers second baseman Chase Utley, who made his debut in front of Dodger fans after being acquired from the Philadelphia Phillies, went 1-for-3 with an RBI triple. Utley gave the Dodgers the lead in the sixth. He led off the inning by drawing a walk and advancing to second on a single by first baseman Adrian Gonzalez. Utley went to third on a Hammel wild pitch and scored on a throwing error by catcher Miguel Montero for a 2-1 Dodgers' lead.

Cubs starter Jason Hammel (7-6) allowed three runs on four hits with five strikeouts and three walks in five-plus innings.

                Rangers 4, Orioles 1

ARLINGTON, Texas -- Left-hander Cole Hamels struck out 10 and limited Baltimore to two hits over eight innings in Texas' victory over the Orioles.

Shin-Soo Choo had a solo home run and two RBIs, while Chris Gimenez's solo homer in the fifth represented the go-ahead run.

DeLino DeShields added a run-scoring triple for Texas, which remained a half-game ahead of Minnesota in the chase for the second wild-card spot in the American League. Texas entered the day five games back of Houston in the AL West.

Right-hander Shawn Tolleson pitched a scoreless ninth for his 27th save.

                Marlins 4, Nationals 3

WASHINGTON -- Martin Prado had two hits, including a two-run homer, and scored twice as Miami beat Washington to put a dent in the postseason hopes of the defending division champions. Marcell Ozuna also had two hits, including a solo homer and double.

The Nationals began the night 6 1/2 games behind the first-place New York Mets in the National League East. Washington has lost nine of its last 11 games decided by one or two runs and the Marlins won just their 22nd road game of the season.

Washington trimmed the Miami lead to 4-3 in the sixth on a sacrifice fly by Ryan Zimmerman against Kyle Barraclough. But the reliever escaped further damage when he deflected a shot by Wilson Ramos for a 1-4-3 groundout to end the threat with the bases loaded.

                Blue Jays 5, Tigers 3

TORONTO -- R.A. Dickey pitched into the seventh inning and Toronto hit three solo home runs to defeat Detroit.

Troy Tulowitzki, Josh Donaldson and Jose Bautista homered for the Blue Jays in the opener of a three-game series. Edwin Encarnacion extended his hitting streak to 23 games with an RBI double in the first. It is the longest hit streak in the majors this season.

Dickey (9-10) won his sixth consecutive decision. The knuckleballer allowed six hits, one walk and three runs while striking out six in 6 2/3 innings.

                Indians 3, Angels 1

CLEVELAND -- Trevor Bauer pitched eight strong innings and Cleveland scored all of its runs in the seventh inning of a victory over Anaheim at Progressive Field.

It was the Indians' third win in a row. The Angels have lost six of their last eight games.

Bauer (10-10) gave up one run and five hits with seven strikeouts and three walks in six innings. Coming into the game, Bauer was 1-5 with a 6.23 ERA in his previous eight starts.

Right-hander Cody Allen pitched the ninth inning to pick up his 27th save. Right-hander Trevor Gott (2-2) took the loss.

                Phillies 7, Padres 1

PHILADELPHIA -- Rookie right-hander Aaron Nola worked seven strong innings to run his personal winning streak to five as Philadelphia beat San Diego.

Cameron Rupp hit a three-run homer in a five-run eighth inning for the Phillies, who snapped a four-game losing streak.

Justin Upton accounted for the Padres' run with a solo home run in the fourth inning. It was his 23rd homer of the season. San Diego lost for the fourth time in five games.

                Royals 3, Rays 2

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Kendrys Morales hit a two-run homer off a catwalk at the top of Tropicana Field in the third inning, leading Kansas City to a victory over Tampa Bay.

The teams continued in opposite directions -- the Royals have won six of their last seven for the best record in the American League and the Rays have dropped four of five.

Royals starter Edinson Volquez (12-7) pitched into the seventh inning, holding the Rays to two runs (one earned) and six hits.

                Pirates 5, Rockies 3

PITTSBURGH -- Pinch-hitter Josh Harrison drove in the game-winning run with a single in the eighth inning, Gregory Polanco rapped out three hits and Pittsburgh outlasted Colorado.

Francisco Cervelli and Pedro Alvarez each walked with one out. Cervelli moved to third on pinch-hitter Aramis Ramirez's fly-out then broke a 3-3 tie on Harrison's single. Polanco followed with a single to center to score pinch-runner Sean Rodriguez and insure Pittsburgh's late lead.

The score remained tied in the visitor's half of the eighth at Polanco's behest. Jose Reyes singled, advanced on a bunt then stole third before he tagged up to score on Nolan Arenado's fly-ball to right field.

                Yankees 15, Braves 4

ATLANTA -- New York's previously struggling offense got a big-time boost from an unexpected source.

Didi Gregorius went 4-for-5 with a homer and career-high six RBIs as the Yankees broke out for a 15-4 interleague rout of Atlanta to remain 1 1/2 games behind Toronto in the American League East.

The Yankees backed right-hander Masahiro Tanaka with five runs in the first inning and four more in the second after scoring just four times in their previous three games.

                Brewers 5, Reds 0

MILWAUKEE -- Taylor Jungmann threw six shutout innings and Domingo Santana homered in his first career game at Miller Park as Milwaukee snapped a four-game losing streak with a shutout victory over Cincinnati.

Jungmann (8-5), Milwaukee's rookie right hander, came into the game having lost four of his last six starts but looked much more like the pitcher that began the year 5-1 by holding the Reds to three hits and three walks while striking out five.

                Mariners 2, White Sox 0

CHICAGO -- A day of losses concluded with a win for Seattle, when it beat Chicago at U.S. Cellular Field.

Paced by a dominant performance by right-hander Taijuan Walker, the Mariners evened the series at a game apiece despite struggling to convert scoring opportunities into runs for the second straight night.

Walker threw 6 1/3 scoreless innings and struck out six to earn the win, but he also left his start prematurely because of a cramping issue in his right hip flexor. He wasn't the only one to leave earlier than expected. Earlier in the day, the Mariners announced that GM Jack Zduriencik had been fired and catcher Mike Zunino was sent to the minors.

                Twins 3, Astros 0

MINNEAPOLIS -- Minnesota scored enough early offense, outlasting Houston in a pitcher's duel at Target Field.

Minnesota right-hander Kyle Gibson was the beneficiary of the support, pitching 5 2/3 innings of shutout ball and earning his first victory since July 12. Gibson allowed just four hits and walked three but was lifted after tossing 111 pitches with two on and two out in the sixth.

The win helped salvage a tough month for Gibson, who entered with a 6.35 ERA in five August starts prior to Friday night. Now 9-9, Gibson lowered his season ERA to 3.82.

                Red Sox 6, Mets 4 (10 innings)

NEW YORK -- Blake Swihart hit an inside-the-park home run leading off the 10th inning as Boston snapped New York's seven-game winning streak.

Swihart hit the first pitch he saw from right-hander Carlos Torres to the deepest part of center field. Replays showed the ball hit the orange part of the wall, which meant it should have been ruled a homer.

But Swihart never broke stride as the ball bounced away from center fielder Juan Lagares and toward the infield. Swihart raced around third and slid in just ahead of the relay throw.

                Diamondbacks 6, A's 4

PHOENIX -- Paul Goldschmidt hit a two-run homer to cap a four-run seventh inning and Arizona broke a four-game losing streak in a victory over Oakland at Chase Field.

Chris Owings and pinch-hitter Aaron Hill hit back-to-back doubles off Sonny Gray to break a 2-2 tie leading off the seventh and A.J. Pollock singled off switch-pitcher Pat Venditte for a 4-2 lead to bring up Goldschmidt.

Goldschmidt's homer, his 26th of the season, hit the base of the video scoreboard in center field and was estimated at 466 feet. He hit a 471-foot homer on Wednesday. He leads the National League with 96 RBIs.

                Giants 5, Cardinals 4

SAN FRANCISCO -- Rookie second baseman Kelby Tomlinson lined a single to center field to score Brandon Belt from third base with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning, giving San Francisco a victory over the St. Louis Cardinals in the opener of a three-game series.

The Giants' third consecutive win featured a franchise-record eighth grand slam, a third-inning shot by right fielder Marlon Byrd that provided all of San Francisco's scoring before the decisive ninth.

The win allowed the Giants to remain 2 1/2 games behind the Los Angeles Dodgers atop the National League West. The St. Louis loss, meanwhile, coupled with Pittsburgh's win over Colorado, allowed the Pirates to move within 3 1/2 games of the first-place Cardinals in the NL Central.

Dodgers place OF Puig on 15-day DL

The Los Angeles Dodgers placed outfielder Yasiel Puig on the 15-day disabled list Friday and recalled infielder Jose Peraza from Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Puig has been out with a right hamstring strain since Aug. 19. Manager Don Mattingly had said the strain was "very mild" and Puig was not expected to go on the disabled list.

This is his second DL stint this season; he was out from April 26 to June 6 with a left hamstring strain.

Puig is hitting .256 with 11 home runs and 38 RBIs this season.

Peraza, 21, has hit .293 with 33 stolen bases, four homers and 42 RBIs at the Triple-A level this season. That includes a .289 average with one homer and five RBIs in 22 games with the Oklahoma City Dodgers.

Peraza was acquired from the Atlanta Braves in an eight-player trade on July 30. He made his major-league debut on Aug. 10 and played in two games with the Dodgers before being sent back to Oklahoma City.

Saturday's NFL Week 3 preseason betting primer

The third week of the NFL preseason continues with a whopping 11 games on the board Saturday. With so many preseason games on the schedule and camp injuries claiming plenty of players already, it can be hard to stay on top of the action.

Pittsburgh Steelers at Buffalo Bills (-2.5, 42.5)

                            * With Martavis Bryant out for the first four games of the regular season, the role of WR2 now falls to Markus Wheaton. Expect quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and Wheaton to keep working together to give Wheaton a bit of a confidence boost heading into Week 1.

                            * The Bills will start EJ Manuel under center Saturday. This adds a little more speculation to who will actually be the Bills' No. 1 quarterback to begin the season. Manuel played well in the Bills' second preseason game against the Cleveland Browns, completing nine of 14 passes for 11 yards.

Atlanta Falcons at Miami Dolphins (-4, 43.5)

                            * Atlanta Falcons rookie running back Tevin Coleman will make his debut versus the Miami Dolphins Saturday. Coleman, a third-round pick in this year's draft, has missed the first two games due to a hamstring injury. Devonta Freeman's status is unknown.

                            * The third week of the NFL preseason is widely used as a "dress rehearsal" for the starters and things are no different in Miami. The starters are expected to play the entire first half, including quarterback Ryan Tannehill. Tannehill has completed 81 percent of his passes thus far in the preseason, but the Fish are 0-2 SU (1-1 ATS).

Cleveland Browns at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-2.5, 41)

                            * Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel will sit out the final two games of the preseason to heal his sore right elbow. This limits the Browns to two healthy quarterbacks in Josh McCown and Thad Lewis.

                            * Bucs QB Jameis Winston showed progress in the second preseason game and will get his most playing time tonight. Winston was eight of 13 for 90 yards and registered a rushing touchdown in Tampa's 25-11 win over the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 2. The Bucs covered as 2.5-point home faves.

Minnesota Vikings at Dallas Cowboys (-1, 42)

                            * If anything the Vikings have been red-hot in the preseason. Minnesota is 3-0 both straight up and against the spread heading into their clash with the Cowboys. The Vikes have won by 11 (vs. Pittsburgh), 10 (vs. Tampa Bay) and eight points (vs. Oakland) in their trio of preseason games.

                            * Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant will not play versus the Vikings and is likely to sit out for the remainder of the preseason, according to Jerry Jones. "I’m not so sure we’re satisfied that it’s necessary for him to extend that [hamstring] that he’s got, since he did extend it with probably a suddenness that had he probably been out there for longer periods of time, he might not have had that happen," Jones said on his radio show on 105.3 The Fan Friday morning. "Let’s give him the rest. We don’t have to have him [Saturday] night. That’s the way I would look at it, and do look at it."

New York Jets at New York Giants (-1.5, 42)

                            * The Jets and Giants meet every summer since 1969 and while the Jets hold the edge (24-21-1 SU), they are really hot when billed as the "away" team. The two teams have played in the same stadium since 1984 and the Jets have won the previous four meetings and eight of the last nine when they've been in the role of the visiting team as they are Saturday.

                            * Despite the above the stat, the Giants are the top pick on Saturday's NFL board with just under 69 percent of the support from users according to Covers Consensus. Click here to check out the latest.

Chicago Bears at Cincinnati Bengals (-3.5, 42)

                            * Bears wide receiver Alshon Jeffery has remained "day-to-day" and his status for Saturday's meeting with the Bengals is up in the air. Jeffery hasn't practiced since Aug. 12 as he nurses a calf injury. He's not the only WR banged up, however, as Kevin White (leg) is on the PUP list and Marquess Wilson (hamstring) and Eddie Royal (hip) also have knocks.

                            * There hasn't been a ton of offensive fireworks in Bengals games in the preseason. The Under has cashed in both of Cincy's preseason matchups as they defeated the Giants 23-10 (Under 37) and lost the Bucs 25-11 (Under 40) in weeks one and two respectively.

Washington Redskins at Baltimore Ravens (-4, 43.5)

                            * The Redskins had announced Thursday that RGIII, who was diagnosed with a shoulder stinger and concussion after repeated hits at Detroit last week, was cleared to play in the Redskins' preseason game Saturday in Baltimore. However, Dr. Robert Kurtzke said Friday in a statement: "Upon further scrutiny today of the neuropsychology data, I agree with the neuropsychologist that he should be held from game play this weekend and be retested in one to two weeks before a firm conclusion to return to game play can be made."

                            * Points have been plentiful in Ravens games this season as the Over has cashed in both of their contests. The Raves defeated the New Orleans Saints 30-27 (Over 38) in Week 1 and were thumped by the Philadelphia Eagles 40-17 (Over 44.5) in Week 2.

Seattle Seahawks at San Diego Chargers (+2.5, 42)

                            * Multiple Seahawks players battling injury could return for Saturday's game as Richard Sherman (hip), Marcus Burley (groin), Will Blackmon (groin), Bruce Irvin (concussion protocol) and Jesse Williams (illness) could suit up. Safety Earl Thomas (shoulder) remains out and is prepping for a Week 1 return.

                            * Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers sat out Week 2 meeting with the Arizona Cardinals, but head coach Mike McCoy confirmed that his QB would play versus the Seahawks Saturday.

Philadelphia Eagles at Green Bay Packers (+6, 47.5)

                            * The Eagles have been the highest-scoring team in the preseason by a wide margin. The Eagles have put up 76 points in two games while opponents have managed just 27. The Over has cashed in both Eagles games by 5.5 and 12.5 points in Weeks 1 and 2 respectively.

                            * It looks as if Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers will not play versus the Eagles. The offensive line is not 100 percent and Rodgers says that he is happy with that work that's been done with the No. 1 offense and he should be ready to go in Week 1.

Indianapolis Colts at St. Louis Rams (-2.5, 42.5)

                            * If you're a Colts bettor and you've backed them in the first two preseason games, you've been left disappointed. The Colts are 0-2 both straight up and against the spread following losses to the Eagles (326-10, +4.5) and Bears (23-11, -3.5).

                            * The Rams' offensive line still has a lot of work and the players know it. "We want to do well and we want to clean up a lot of mistakes we've made," Barrett Jones, who is competing for the starting center job, said. "We feel like we've shot ourselves in the foot too many times — too many penalties and mental errors. But at the same time we're not putting too much pressure on it. We know we've still got time to fix everything that we've done wrong, so we're excited about it. We're looking forward to hopefully getting out there and putting up a good showing."

San Francisco 49ers at Denver Broncos (-5, 42.5)

                            * 49ers' starting linebacker Ahmad Brooks was sent home this week following his misdemeanor sexual battery charges. Linebacker NaVorro Bowman commented simply, "That's a big loss for us." Corey Lemonier appears to be the starter now.

                            * The Broncos are one of six teams that remain unbeaten both straight up and against the spread in the preseason. Denver is 2-0 SU and ATS following a 22-20 win at the Seattle Seahawks as 4.5-point dogs and a 14-10 win at the Houston Texans as 2.5-point pups.

                              Latos struggling since joining Dodgers

Mat Latos is expected to toe the slab for the Los Angeles Dodgers with the Chicago Cubs in town Saturday evening and he'll look to change his luck since he joined the club.

Latos is 0-2 with a 6.75 ERA in three starts since the Dodgers acquired him from the Miami Marlins. He gave up five runs (four earned) and seven hits in 4 2/3 innings while losing to Cincinnati in his last outing.

The Dodgers are presently -101 with the Cubs, who are expected to counter with Jon Lester, currently -107.

Hutchison to get start for Jays after AAA stint

Due to three days off in its schedule, Toronto shuffled Drew Hutchinson to Triple-A Buffalo with the intent of having the right-hander make one start before being recalled for Saturday's tilt versus the Detroit Tigers.

The 25-year-old has won his last three outings for the Blue Jays and improved to 4-0 in his last seven on Aug. 16 after allowing one run on three hits in 6 2/3 innings of a 3-1 triumph over the Yankees. Hutchinson has flourished at home, posting a 10-1 mark with a 1.08 WHIP while limiting the opposition to a .226 batting average.

The Tigers are expected to counter with Buck Farmer.

The Blue Jays are presently -222.
