The red-hot Blue Jays kept the good times rolling Sunday in New York, topping the Yankees 2-0 while effectively sweeping the Bronx Bombers in the process.
Toronto (61-52) has won eight consecutive games and is now just 1.5 games back of the Yanks for the AL East lead. The victory marked the first time since 2003 that the Bluebirds swept their division rivals in New York.
Joe Girardi's squad was shutout in back-to-back games for the first time since 1999. The Yankees won't have to wait long to try and get some revenge, as both sides begin a three-game series north of the border on Friday.
Angels dominating White Sox in recent clashes
The Los Angeles Angels are 7-1 in their last eight against the Chicago White Sox.
Both sides are set to renew acquaintances in the Windy City Monday with Matt Shoemaker probable to get the ball for the Halos and Chris Sale slated to counter for the Pale Hose.
