The Minnesota Twins may feel that this weekend represents a good opportunity for them to finally beat CC Sabathia at Target Field.

Sabathia, however, just enjoyed one of his best outings of the year and a huge celebration for his 35th birthday.

He'll try to improve to 5-0 in as many overall starts at Target Field on Saturday night and help the New York Yankees even this three-game set.

Sabathia (4-8, 5.25 ERA) has long been a nemesis for Minnesota (52-44) from his days as an AL Central rival with Cleveland. He's 7-1 with a 2.70 ERA in nine starts against the Twins since joining the Yankees in 2009, including two in the postseason.

His 10-4 home loss to the Twins on July 14, 2013, snapped his 11-game overall winning streak versus them. He has a 3.21 ERA in four outings at Target Field, including the 2010 AL division series opener, with 33 strikeouts in 28 innings.

The left-hander, however, has been among baseball's worst pitchers with opponents batting .299 against him for one of the majors' highest marks. Right-handed hitters are batting .330 against him with 18 homers - the most allowed by anyone.

Sabathia has made two starts since June 29, going 1-0 with a 2.38 ERA after having his surgically repaired right knee drained. He gave up one run with seven strikeouts over six innings Sunday opposite Seattle's Felix Hernandez and did not receive a decision in a 2-1 victory.

"I plan on feeling good the rest of the year," Sabathia said. "It's just something that I gotta stay on top of and maintain."

Sabathia celebrated his birthday Tuesday with a party thrown by his wife that featured lavish entertainment. Several teammates showed up, with Alex Rodriguez posting an Instagram photo in which he was enjoying a cigar.

New York (53-42) didn't really show up in Friday's 10-1 loss in the series opener as its four-game win streak ended. Minnesota's Trevor Plouffe went 3 for 4 with a homer and a double while Torii Hunter, Brian Dozier and Miguel Sano also went deep.

Eddie Rosario scored three runs and became the first Twin with three doubles since Josmil Pinto on Sept. 9, 2013.

Minnesota has won two straight following a four-game slide and has taken eight of nine at home.

Tommy Milone (5-2, 3.38) will look to win a fourth straight home start, having posted a 1.80 ERA in the last three. He is 3-1 with a 2.70 ERA in eight starts overall since being recalled from Triple-A Rochester on June 4.

The loss was an ugly one as the left-hander was ripped for a season-high seven runs over 2 2-3 innings in Sunday's 14-1 defeat at Oakland. He surrendered three homers after going five starts without yielding one.

Milone is 0-1 with a 1.32 ERA in two career starts against New York from 2012.

Mark Teixeira is 4 for 7 versus Milone and Carlos Beltran is 3 for 3 with a homer. Chris Young has a double in three at-bats off Milone and will be in the lineup because of his .371 average against lefties.

Plouffe may be forced to leave the Twins before this game to be with his pregnant wife.

"I haven't thought about who's going to play or when, how we'll fill that spot when he's gone," manager Paul Molitor told MLB's official website.

The New York Mets made their first move that they hope will begin to fix their anemic offense. They may not need to do much with Matt Harvey on the mound at Citi Field.

With the availability of Juan Uribe and Kelly Johnson unknown, Harvey will try to stop the Mets' skid by beating the Los Angeles Dodgers for the first time Saturday night.

New York (49-48) is only three-game back of NL East-leading Washington despite ranking last in the majors with a .233 average and 3.41 runs per game.

The Mets have been outscored 14-5 while batting .172 during this three-game losing streak after mustering six hits in Friday's 7-2 loss to the Dodgers (56-42).

They attempted to address their feeble offense after the game, sending a pair of minor league pitchers to Atlanta for Uribe and Johnson.

Uribe can play third with David Wright still recovering from spinal stenosis. He's batting .272 with eight homers and 23 RBIs with the Braves and Dodgers this year.

"One of the best teammates I've ever had and a good baseball player," said Dodgers third baseman Justin Turner, a member of the Mets from 2010-13. "I already told a couple of guys, 'You're going to love (him),' and he's going to be great for the clubhouse over there."

The well-traveled Johnson has been surging in July with a .311 average, three homers and a team-high 12 RBIs. He's played this season at first, third and in the outfield.

'You find a good routine and when it's working it's hard to think about getting out of that,' said Johnson, who was surprised to be traded to a division rival. 'Now the toughest thing will be finding that routine there.'

Harvey (8-7, 3.19 ERA) is 5-2 with a 2.95 ERA in nine starts at home, compiling a 0.90 ERA over his last three and winning both decisions.

The right-hander wasn't sharp at Washington in Monday's 7-2 loss, allowing five runs in the first three innings before leaving after the seventh.

"Part of the game is finding a rhythm early," Harvey told MLB's official website.

Harvey is 0-2 with a 5.29 ERA in three starts against Los Angeles, yielding three runs and matching his career high with five walks in five innings of a 4-3 road loss July 4.

The Dodgers, winners in 10 of their last 12 at Citi Field, were hoping to have Zack Greinke back after he was scratched from Friday's scheduled start to be at the birth of his first child. He's slated to return for Sunday's series finale, making Zach Lee the likeliest candidate to start in his major league debut.

Lee, the 28th overall pick in the 2010 draft, will need to be recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City. The right-hander went 5-0 with a 1.41 ERA in his last six starts in the minors.

Turner is 13 for 24 in his last six games after hitting a solo homer and adding two doubles with two RBIs on Friday.

"I think for any player, if you ask them, it always feels good to get hits against your former team," Turner said.

Turner will face Harvey for the first time, while Yasiel Puig is 3 for 5 with a double off him. Puig had a two-run homer Friday and he's 6 for 18 with two home runs, two doubles and five RBIs in five games in Queens.

The Mets may have prospect Michael Conforto - their first round pick last year - back in left field after he went 0 for 3 with an RBI in his major league debut Friday.

"I thought he looked good," manager Terry Collins said. "He's got a nice approach, some patience at the plate, so I was very pleased with what I saw."

The St. Louis Cardinals traded Shelby Miller to the Atlanta Braves during the offseason, giving Carlos Martinez a chance to take his place in the starting rotation.

Martinez has not only won a spot in the rotation but he's been the Cardinals' best starter.

Martinez looks to continue his dominance Saturday night when he takes the mound opposite Miller and the visiting Braves.

Miller (5-6, 2.33 ERA) spent his first three years with St. Louis (62-34) and went 25-18 with a 3.41 ERA as a starter in the last two. The Cardinals sent him to Atlanta (45-51) in a deal for Jason Heyward and the move may have benefited Martinez (10-4, 2.51) the most.

The right-hander has the lowest ERA in the St. Louis rotation and is second in strikeouts (115) after spending his first two years making 70 of 78 appearances out of the bullpen.

Martinez, a first-time All-Star this year, is 7-2 with a 1.26 ERA over his last 11 games, holding opponents to two runs or fewer in nine of the 10 starts over that span. He was pressed into relief duty during Sunday's 3-1, 18-inning loss to the New York Mets, giving up two runs - one earned - in the final four.

Martinez has tossed 2 2-3 scoreless innings in four relief outings against Atlanta.

The Cardinals are 6-1 since the break and won their fourth straight with a 4-2 victory in Friday's series opener.

Randal Grichuk is hitting .380 with 13 RBIs in the last 13 games. All four of his homers over that stretch have come in four home games, going 8 for 17 with 10 RBIs. He's connected for two-run shots in each of the last two games, totaling four hits.

"I just went up there trying to be aggressive in the strike zone," Grichuk said of his second-inning homer Friday. "I got some pitches I thought I could handle and I swung at them."

The Braves have lost six straight on the road for the second time during a 3-12 stretch as the visitor. They haven't endured a longer road skid since dropping eight straight from July 29-Aug. 6.

Miller gets the ball looking to end his own losing streak in his first meeting with the Cardinals. The right-hander is 0-5 with a 3.15 ERA in 11 starts since tossing a two-hitter in a 6-0 win at Miami on May 17. He's 0-1 with a 5.16 ERA in his past four road starts.

Miller was charged with a 4-1 home loss to the Chicago Cubs on Sunday, allowing three runs - one earned - with eight strikeouts and four walks in six innings.

Nick Markakis is 13 for 29 in seven career meetings with St. Louis. He singled Friday and is 5 for 15 with three extra-base hits in the past four games.

Atlanta dealt Juan Uribe and Kelly Johnson to the Mets for minor leaguer pitchers Robert Whalen and John Gant on Friday. Uribe and Johnson were scheduled to be free agents this winter, and the rebuilding Braves may already be starting to look towards next season since they're seven games back of San Francisco in the wild-card race.

Steve Cishek could make his Cardinals debut after being acquired in a trade from Miami for Double-A pitcher Kyle Barraclough on Friday. Cishek has allowed one earned run in 12 2-3 innings over his last 13 appearances following a stint in the minors after losing his job as the Marlins' closer.

St. Louis' 2.67 ERA is the lowest in the majors and the club's best since a 2.49 mark in 1968.

Johnny Cueto is trying to block out the trade talk that's seemingly growing louder and louder each day. That chatter might cease not long after his start in Colorado.

Cueto could pitch in his final game for the Cincinnati Reds on Saturday night against the Rockies.

With their lackluster record, the Reds (42-52) are set to deal away some players and Cueto (6-6, 2.79 ERA) is high on that list because his expected price tag in free agency this offseason will likely prove too extravagant. The right-hander's four-year, $27 million contract signed in 2011 included a club option for this season worth $10 million.

Cueto is scheduled to start Thursday in Cincinnati, but the trade deadline is Friday, making it unlikely he'll pitch against Pittsburgh.

"I can't think about it when I'm pitching. I have to keep my mind in the game," he said through an interpreter after his latest start Sunday against Cleveland.

Cueto walked six batters - three more than in any of his other 17 games this season - in a 5-3 loss in 11 innings to the Indians. He lasted just four innings while throwing 94 pitches, ending a 53-start streak of five or more innings.

The eight-year veteran insisted his impending departure from the Reds wasn't a factor.

"These are things that are happening. I don't decide things that are happening, I don't put things in my mind that aren't in my control, so I don't really care," he told MLB's official website.

Cueto had a good handle on the Rockies (41-53) in two matchups last season, allowing two runs in eight innings in each.

He'll try to lead the Reds to just their fourth win in 11 games. Cincinnati blew a one-run lead in the eighth inning in Friday's series opener and lost 6-5 after Joey Votto's tying homer in the ninth.

Carlos Gonzalez hit two home runs, giving him six in his last 12 games, and Charlie Blackmon scored on Ryan Mattheus' wild pitch to finish off the Rockies' sixth win in eight home games.

"I feel like I'm giving this team a chance to win ball games and to help put runs on the board," said Gonzalez, batting .396 since July 4. "Hopefully, it stays that way. We still have a lot of games in front of us and I believe in this team and in every single player in this clubhouse."

Chris Rusin (3-3, 3.88) had a strong performance at Cincinnati in his Rockies debut May 26, yielding one run in seven innings of a 2-1 walkoff loss, but he's since gone 0-3 with a 6.65 ERA in four road starts.

He enters on a four-start winless streak overall despite a 2.59 ERA in that span. Rusin gave up five runs in six innings against Texas on Monday but just two were earned in an 8-7 home victory.

Votto is hitless in his last six at-bats against Rusin but is batting .593 in his last seven games after going 3 for 5 on Friday. Jay Bruce is 1 for 8 lifetime versus the left-hander and Todd Frazier is 1 for 5 with four strikeouts while Marlon Byrd is 4 for 8.

D.J. LeMahieu, batting .411 in a career high-tying 14-game hit streak, is 5 for 11 against Cueto.

Though the present might seem dismal for the Milwaukee Brewers, Taylor Jungmann is giving the franchise something to be excited about going forward.

The right-hander tries to become the first Brewers rookie in eight seasons to win four straight starts Saturday against the Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field.

Since making his major league debut June 9, Jungmann (5-1, 2.04 ERA) has blossomed into a pleasant surprise for Milwaukee (43-54). Though the injured Wily Peralta appears close to rejoining the starting rotation, there's a good chance Jungmann could stick around.

"He just continues to make pitches and he continues to get swings that don't look like great swings," Brewers manager Craig Counsell said. "It's been great to watch.

"He's flat out pitching very well. He's come up and done a really nice job for us."

The 12th overall pick in 2011, Jungmann has allowed one run in each of his last three starts while lasting at least seven innings. After recording his first complete game at Dodger Stadium on July 11, Jungmann went seven during Sunday's 6-1 victory over Pittsburgh.

'I gave our team a chance to win and that is what you want to do every time out,' said Jungmann, who can become the first Brewers rookie since Yovani Gallardo in 2007 to win a fourth consecutive start.

He's 4-0 with a 2.25 ERA in five starts on the road, where Milwaukee evened its four-game set with Arizona (44-51) after Friday's 2-1 victory.

Jimmy Nelson threw seven scoreless innings, Ryan Braun homered for the second straight night and Jonathan Lucroy added three hits as the Brewers won for the 18th time in the last 26 contests.

Braun's only two hits in 12 at-bats over the last four games have left the park.

"You try to be prepared for every pitch,' he said. 'Sometimes it's the first (pitch) at bat is the first pitch to hit, sometimes it might be the fifth or sixth."

Lucroy is 6 for 12 in the last three.

Teammate Adam Lind is 0 for 8 with three strikeouts in the series but 5 for 8 with a home run and two doubles against Rubby De La Rosa (7-5, 4.83).

The right-hander allowed 10 runs on five homers over 8 2-3 innings to lose his last two starts before the All-Star break, but yielded a solo shot and overcame a season-high five walks through seven of Monday's 3-1 victory over Miami.

His 22 home runs allowed rank fourth-most in the majors.

"When he pitches down he gets those ground balls," Arizona manager Chip Hale said. "When we can get those ground balls and let those infielders work, we're a much better team.

"His stuff is electric stuff, but those are the things he's learning and maturing."

De La Rosa's stuff barely generated a spark May 29 when he allowed four runs, including homers to Lind and Carlos Gomez in five innings while not factoring in the decision of a 7-5 victory at Milwaukee.

Ender Inciarte had three of the eight hits Friday for Arizona, which has been held to three or fewer runs eight times during a 2-9 stretch.

Despite that slide, Inciarte is batting .423 (11 for 26) in his last six games, and .360 in five against the Brewers this season.

The San Diego Padres are among the worst offensive teams in baseball but they're finding some success with homers.

Playing the biggest part in that is Matt Kemp, who looks to continue his offensive surge as Padres face the Miami Marlins on Saturday night.

San Diego's .236 average is only better than the New York Mets' .233. That's a big reason why the Padres (45-52) are 7 1/2 games back of San Francisco for the second wild-card spot.

They've managed to win six of nine despite batting .216. However, they've hit 12 home runs and 17 of the 28 runs scored have come via the long ball.

All of their scoring came in that fashion Friday, with Kemp, Yonder Alonso and Brett Wallace connecting for solo shots as San Diego snapped a three-game skid with a 3-1 win over Miami (41-56).

'When I hit mine and the next pitch Matt hits his, we just felt that momentum of energy that we had stocked up just explode,' Alonso said.

Kemp is San Diego's hottest hitter, batting .386 (17 for 44) with five homers, six doubles and 11 RBIs in his last 12 games.

The right fielder is hitting .403 in his last 16 games against Miami, while Alonso is a .370 hitter (17 for 46) in 12 matchups at Petco Park.

Ian Kennedy (5-9, 4.78 ERA) wouldn't mind seeing that kind of production Saturday. He has a 2.98 ERA over his last nine starts but is 3-4 since he's received two runs or fewer in seven of those outings.

The right-hander got enough Monday, allowing two runs with six strikeouts in six innings of a 4-2 win over San Francisco after losing his four previous starts.

Kennedy has been outstanding in his last three starts against the Marlins, posting a 1.40 ERA while winning his only decision.

San Diego has won seven of nine at home with the Marlins, who are hitting .204 and averaging 1.9 runs over that stretch.

Poor road play has become commonplace for Miami, which has dropped 16 of 21 away from home after its season-best three-game winning streak ended Friday. The Marlins' 17-33 road record is among the worst in the majors.

Giving the ball to David Phelps (4-6, 3.91) isn't likely to help. The right-hander is 0-4 with a 7.67 ERA in his last five road starts.

He gave up three runs and seven hits with a season-high four walks over 5 2-3 innings in a 3-1 loss at Arizona on Monday.

"Fastball command's usually what I'm best at, and tonight it was just off the plate, off the plate, off the plate," Phelps told MLB's official website.

Justin Bour is 11 for 30 with four doubles and eight RBIs in his past nine games after he went 2 for 4 with an RBI Friday.

Fellow rookie J.T. Realmuto should be back behind the plate after getting a day off and appearing as a pinch-runner. He's 11 for 32 (.344) with two homers, four doubles and eight RBIs in the last eight games he's started.

Hector Santiago has been brilliant in winning his last three outings and has been even better in three this year against the Texas Rangers.

His mound opponent Saturday night is Yovani Gallardo, who will see a nemesis from his past while also facing Mike Trout for the first time.

These starters meet in the middle game of this series in Anaheim, with the Angels out to avoid their first three-game slide in nearly two months.

Santiago (7-4, 2.30 ERA) matched a career high with 10 strikeouts over five-plus innings Monday in an 11-1 rout over Boston, giving him a 0.95 ERA in a three-start win streak and a 1.13 mark in his last five with the Angels winning all of them. The All-Star hadn't pitched since July 10.

"It's good to get a little extra rest in your arm, but then you definitely have to try and figure out how to do it again, figure out how to get back in that rhythm,' Santiago said.

The left-hander is 2-0 with a 0.93 ERA in three outings against the Rangers, with Rougned Odor going 3 for 7 against him as the only Rangers batter with more than one hit. Prince Fielder is 1 for 9 versus Santiago this year, Leonys Martin is 1 for 8 and Elvis Andrus and Adrian Beltre are each 1 for 7.

Santiago has never faced Josh Hamilton, who went 2 for 4 with a double and two runs scored in Friday's 4-2 victory for Texas (46-49) in his return to Anaheim. Hamilton, traded back to the Rangers on April 27, was booed whenever he stepped to the plate or fielded the ball at the stadium where he played the previous two seasons after signing a five-year, $125 million free-agent deal with the Angels.

'The reaction from the crowd was exactly what I expected,' Hamilton said. 'Wasn't too bad. Wasn't good, either.'

The Rangers improved baseball's best road record to 30-23 by beating the Angels for the third time in 10 meetings.

They will hand the ball to Gallardo (7-9, 2.91), who has posted a 5.28 ERA in a three-start slide after throwing 26 1-3 scoreless innings over his previous four. He was charged with a season-high five earned runs over four-plus innings in Sunday's 10-0 loss at Houston, throwing 48 of 93 pitches for strikes.

"This is the first time I've felt like that in a long time," he said. "Just falling behind guys."

The right-hander has never faced Trout or the Angels, though there is one Los Angeles hitter who can pass along knowledge on him. Albert Pujols is 14 for 29 with four homers against Gallardo, including a 2-for-2 effort in the playoffs.

Pujols, though, was 0 for 4 with three strikeouts Friday as a six-game hitting streak in which he batted .391 ended.

Trout matched Pujols for the major league lead with his 29th homer and drove in both runs for Los Angeles (54-42), which hasn't dropped three in a row since a five-game slide June 2-7.

Trout, hitting .371 against Texas this season, is 17 for 49 (.347) with eight homers and 14 RBIs in his last 13 games.

Fielder was 0 for 3 with a walk to snap his 12-game hitting streak versus the Angels.

The Angels acquired infielder Conor Gillaspie from the Chicago White Sox for cash on Friday. The .237 hitter is expected to join the team in time for this game.

During that span, the 30-year-old has allowed a mere 1.7 runs per game while striking out 31. The Friars will look his way once again Saturday when they play host to David Phelps and the Miami Marlins.

Padres continue search for a leadoff man

SAN DIEGO -- It is among interim manager Pat Murphy most difficult decisions of his day: Who will bat leadoff for the San Diego Padres?

On Friday, second baseman Alexi Amarista got the call.

Amarista, who started the game with a .218 average and .292 on-base percentage, was batting first for the first time this season. Amarista became the 10th Padres to hold down the position, and he was hitless in four at-bats.

"We got to do something,'' Murphy said.

Amarista had fared well against Miami starter Dan Haren, so Murphy gave him a shot to lead off. Amarista was 5-for-11 with a home run and two doubles against Haren before Friday.

Recently it's been Yangervis Solarte at leadoff and his 15 starts there are the second-most on the team.

Wil Myers is the leading lead-off batter with 33 starts. But he's still out after wrist surgery and that's among the reasons the Padres have tried a variety of players in the leadoff spot.

So it was Amarista's turn on Friday.

That wasn't the only new wrinkle as Brett Wallace had his third start of the season and first at third base. He responded with his first home run as a Padre and added a single.

"I want to get his bat in there,'' Murphy said.

Anything is worth a try as the Padres lead the majors in being shut out 14 times.

Marlins' Jennings knows what Murphy is going through

SAN DIEGO -- Miami Marlins manager Dan Jennings looks across to the opposing dugout with a certain feeling: He knows what San Diego Padres interim skipper Pat Murphy is going through.

"It is not easy,'' Jennings said.

The Marlins created a stir earlier in the year when they moved Jennings from his general manager's post to the manager's role. Jennings had never managed in pro ball and his hiring was met with raised eyebrows and a boatload of skepticism.

Sound familiar, Murph?

At least Murphy was the Padres Triple-A manager for two-plus season. But he earned his stripes in the college game, not at the pro level.

"You have to get their respect, that is the toughest part,'' Jennings said, comparing his baptism to Murphy's. "That is the most important thing.''

Murphy said his situation is a tad different from Jennings'.

"He has a little more juice than I do,'' Murphy said, with a grin.

Both teams were looking for a jolt when Jennings replaced Mike Redmond and Murphy took over for Bud Black.

But neither move seemed to help significantly, and now both clubs hit the trading deadline as sellers looking to build rather than contenders seeking a late-season boost.

At least Murphy survived the toughest part of the transition, according to Jennings.

"I call it the five days of hell,'' Jennings said. "It's the first five days you are on the job and the focus is on the manager and not the players.''

Switching Cruz, Cano in batting order helps Mariners

SEATTLE -- Hardly one to sit back and idly watch, Seattle Mariners manager Lloyd McClendon spent a good part of the first half of the season tinkering with his batting order. The one combination he never really touched was All-Star slugger Nelson Cruz batting behind second baseman Robinson Cano.

Until last week.

McClendon's decision to flip-flop his two most established hitters, with Cano moving into the cleanup spot and Cruz up to No. 3, has revived the heart of the Mariners' batting order and kick-started the Seattle offense.

Cano has gone 9-for-20 in his five games as the cleanup hitter, and he had the big hit of Friday's 5-2 win over Toronto with a two-run triple in the fifth. Cruz added three hits in the win.

"Robbie's been swinging the bat extremely well," McClendon said. "When I moved him to cleanup, I told him he was going to be our secret weapon -- and he hasn't disappointed."

Cano said he doesn't look at hitting cleanup as a significant change, but batting behind Cruz has helped his production.

"The difference is he gets on base a lot; he walks and gets hits," Cano said. "It's cool when you've got a guy like him that gets on base a lot. He's the kind of guy you want to be behind."

Cruz has gone 8-for-19 with four runs scored, three RBIs and three home runs over his past four games.

"I don't complain where I hit in the lineup," he said. "Anywhere I hit is fine with me. We've done a lot better these last few games. The offense is there."

Seattle's offense is finally starting to live up to expectations lately, having scored 27 runs in the five games since McClendon made his latest lineup shuffle.

"We're a lot better club, from an offensive standpoint, than you saw in the first half," McClendon said. "It's starting to come to fruition, and guys are starting to swing the bats the way they're capable of swinging."

Angels look for 3B help from Gillaspie

ANAHEIM, Calif. -- The Los Angeles Angels traded for Conor Gillaspie on Friday, giving cash considerations to the Chicago White Sox in exchange for the third baseman.

Gillaspie is a stopgap solution at third base after starter David Freese suffered a fractured right index finger on Wednesday when hit by a pitch. Freese is expected to miss at least three weeks.

Gillaspie, who had been designated for assignment by the White Sox, hit .237 with 10 runs scored, 11 doubles, one triple, three home runs and 15 RBIs in 58 games this season. He was better in 2014, hitting .282 with a .336 on-base percentage, seven homers and 57 RBIs in 130 games.

"Conor is a kid that had a really good year last year with the White Sox and he struggled this year," Angels manager Mike Scioscia said. "We know he's a better player than he's showed this year with Chicago.

"He can fill in at both corner positions (first and third), he's a good left-handed hitter, especially against right-handed pitching. Maybe not as much power as some guys that play a corner position, but he's a terrific hitter."

Kyle Kubitza, called up initially when Freese was injured, started at third base on Friday and went 1-for-3. Gillaspie will join the Angels on Saturday.
