Saturday Women's World Cup Play

1 unit England +435 over Germany. I admit I don't follow women's soccer very much but I do know that for a team to win they have to be motivated for whatever reason. I may be completely wrong on this play but this boils down simply to who wants it more. Considering Germany was the number 1 ranked team coming into the World Cup, it is hard for me to imagine them getting up to play for the third place game. I think it was all or nothing for Germany. Their season ended with the defeat by the USA. I think they will only be going through the motions. England on the other hand wasn't expected to go far in the tournament so playing for 3rd place is a much bigger deal to them. Besides after their heartbreaking loss to Japan, I think they will want to show the world that they are in fact one of the top teams and win this one for their teammate who scored the own goal for Japan. BOL if you follow. Football is right around the corner men.

I really like your thinking here Raven. I have seen this scenario played out many times over and after a loss by a team favored to win, they lose the consolation game. Happens a lot in hockey too I've noticed. I'm tagging along.

I got a loss from my book. They claim it was a 3 way line with a Draw offered. So regulation and injury time being a tie gave me a loss.
