Let me know how Firelake is, Che. Haven't played there in awhile. Was like a cow pasture last I played there.

It is in great shape. Some bare spots in the fairways where the water stood to long but those will heal now that the weather is heating up. Greens (champion burmuda) excellent and hard to find a weed in the fairways and very few in the rough. Some tees were moved up due to some work being done. Shouldn't take long they had a lot of workers getting everything fixed from the rains. I would rate it 4 out of 5 stars only because there was no water on the course to drink and they need new carts. $25.00 for seniors and $30.00 for all others. Included cart. I think you will be very pleased if you play it now. We plan on going back a couple more times this year.

Garth the whole course was under water during the rains they had. Check out the picture in the club house. I can't believe it could ever recover, they must have a hell of a greens keeper

Thanks, Che. They obviously have a different course superintendent than the last few times I played it. The Pottawatomis have historically not invested much of their casino profits in the golf course. Nice to hear they're getting it up to speed.

That tract of land is nice but it's down in the river bottom. I don't think it drains well.

There was talk for years of them building a new golf course at the Grand Casino Resort out west of Shawnee. It never materialized. Maybe they decided to go ahead and take care of the course they already have even though it is 8 or 10 miles from the Grand.

They have invested a ton from what I saw. Lots of new equipment and lots of workers. I play Fountainhead which was bought by the Creeks and they spent money at first but now have started to let it run down. There are so many weeds you would never be able to play the ball down and their workers are for the most part lazy and don't want to take care of the little things that make a golf course great.
