WNBA ref counts basket that didn't go in
For those who wager on WNBA games something fishy went down in Friday night's game between Chicago and Atlanta, as one of the officials counted a basket that didn't go in the hoop.
Chicago's Elena Delle Donne was fouled on a shot late in the fourth quarter. The ball didn't go in. Not even close. But the referees counted the basket and Delle Donne took just one free throw, which she made. It made the score 72-71 Atlanta.
The worst part is the officials reviewed the play and still counted the basket.
Luckily for Atlanta backers they still managed to cover as 3.5-point home dogs, winning the game 74-73, but still it makes you think.
