Why the heck did Kansas City start Shields?

7-12 4.66 ERA as the starter is stupid. If I'm the manager I want to take game 1 at home that way worst case scenario I go into San Francisco 1-1. If they go into San Francisco 0-2 it's going to be lights out.

One of the biggest things I hate about watching baseball is they leave the damn pitcher in too long. I would have had that bullpen up in the 1st inning. After the 1st let them take a seat in the bullpen. Shields couldn't control his pitches the way he wanted.

I got to change my avatar to the Royals as them and the Yankees are my teams.

Looks pretty evenly matched in my opinion. I wonder if Kansas City plans on using Duffy or Vargas as a starter? They could end up going with Shields again in game 4, because he would have had 4 days rest.
