I read today that Kiaran Mcglaughlin said Jazil probably won't be entered into the Preakness.

Didn't see that, I got this out of the NY Post. It could have changed.

Like I said "Probable Preakness Field"

Going to be really hard to win money on that race. Barbaro wins big and everybody knows it. Start thinking about the Belmont.
Circumstances do not make the man; they reveal him.

I think Barbaro got that perfect ride. A lot of strong horses, especially closers will rest till Belmont and let the grueling Triple Crown run slow down Barbaro. Let's not say super horse quite yet though.

Brother Derek might not be done yet, and the Preakness with a smaller field may suit him. At worse a real nice Place bet on Brother Derek may pay nice

Bill with all due respect to you and Chungy I have to disagree.
Barbaro didn't have a clean trip. The charts show trouble, stumbled at the start, bumped Ron and John, 5 or 6 wide at the first turn and into the backstretch. If this horse can recouperate in the short time I think he can still improve on his last effort. He wasn't even taken to the whip. Also didn't he match a record set by Secretariat for some of the final fractions? He may be a monster (not yet but Maybe)
Brother Derek will also improve off a troubled trip, but I can't see him improving enough to catch this horse. Derek will EASILY be the second choice, probably 2-1 because of a projected smaller field than normal. (The Preakness allows 14 starters, I believe).

              GL and THANKS!!!!

Brother Derek lost his front right shoe. And I am hoping that Barbaro wins the Preakness so he'll be 1-9 at Belmont and will pay huge even if he fished 2nd.

I like betting Belmont horese who ran in Derby and not Preakness when trying to upset the triple crown winner (ie. Birdstone over Smarty Jones)

Smarty Jones was 1-9 and finished 2nd trifecta still paid almost $5K.

There is also another angle I like to bet for the Belmont Stakes: Only taking grade 1 winners to win.
                Good Luck to everyone

RWall, we aren't really that far off in our thinking. When I say perfect ride, I did not mean clean, because very few Derby rides are clean, there is always bumps and wides. What I meant by perfect was the way his Jockey had perfectly set at each call. He couldn't have asked for a stronger ride, especially after acting up prior to the race. Prado rated and he sat comfortable, took him wide and he responded. As you stated barely went to the whip, and the horse galloped out strong.

I just think BD may take to a smaller field and may be a strong Place bet, not saying he will get Barbaro. Sweetnorthernsaint and some of the fresh blood will draw a lot of betting interest, so may get BD at 4-1 and may be a nice straight Place bet at those odds.

At 4-1 BD will only pay about $4.00 maybe $5.00 in the middle

Go Barbaro, as a Kentucky boy, would love to see a KY bred horse bring home the triple crown. I think he can

I think he can to, he looked GREAT

One thing he's got going for him that the past 3 triple crown condenders didn't have (smarty jones, war emblem, and fuck-i don't rememver) is that he (barbaro) has Edgar Prado, A Belmont jockey. The others had jockeys who have never raced at Belmont Park be4.

I would like to see it, but I am still gonna try to beat him.

Looks like Lawyer Ron is out of the Preakness with an ankle problem...makes Barbaro even stronger...I'm wondering why Baffert isn't looking to run da Stoops or even Too Much Bling...or Frankel to run Rackateer...Lukas and Zitto have zilcho...for me the Preakness has lost a lot of appeal because the fields just get smaller and smaller...now if the boys from Dubai were to get Discreet cat involved....we'd have a race!

Don't assume some of those things might not yet happen.
