  • belmont stakes trends and plays

belmont odds and ends. the last 13 belmonts, 11 of the winners had a lat out beyer of 106 or more. thers only 2 in here alex and reverberate. 75% of the belmont winners the last 14 years have finished 1st 2nd or 3rd,in preakness or peter pan, this trend was real good until birdstone and sarava. this year theres alex, giacamo, and reverb-. the avg belmont beyer is 108 the last 13 years. and those three i listed are the only 3 to break 100. 87% of belmont winners are kentucky breds. alex is fla bred. the whole field is ktucky though. now for the race analysis. reverberate is going to make the lead. he ran a real fast race in his last a stakes record time for the winner. alek will be closer to the lead perhaps 3rd or fourth. it is possible there may be some pace as pinpoint likes to get out early. at the top of the stretch alex will get the lead and i believe he will win by a couple of lengths with giacomo closing for 2nd and reverberate third and checov 4th. yes these are boring pix but im not gonna pick longshots and get in on the hype of horses who just dont matchup. while i agree that some of these hoerses can get the distance,it doesnt mean they will win. bol ill be wheeling superfectas and triples for fun,but wont go crazy here. gc-

good luck ........winners arent boring....favorites or longshots your horse on top is a thrill ....horse went to his knees and wins going away, Ritchey says most agile horse he's been around including show horses.....damn i was hoping he was going to say the fastest.....oh well he should be tough to beat but at the stretch in the derby it looked to be all his so maybe the longest stretch in north america will be too much.......pimlico is tight cornered for those "agile" horses.....i'll skip it and look for some fast ones in some claiming races

well. i wound up making a small win bet on a.alex, however i broke just around even for the race,as none of the exotics were close, giacomo flipped his palate on the backstretch but still made the lead, reverberate broke slow then bit his tung, alex made them look like he was standing still, heres my big question though, no horse ever has one the triple crown without winning a prior race at belmont, alex ran second by a half length in his only other start there, i wonder if he had won the derby if this all time trend would have been broken. gc-
