I went only one-for-three yesterday (with a scratch). The winner paid only $3.40. My Preakness pick, Greeley's Galaxy, managed only to split the field and was no match for Afleet Alex's awesome run.

Broke its maiden by a romping seven lengths last out in first start for new trainer. Should win right back. Bullet work Wednesday. Barn hot. Price will be short but this one looks like a romp.
Churchill Downs Race 7 Play #8 Ahuriri Hikawai
Just don't try to pronounce her name. Closer almost won five furlong turf sprint at Gulfstream where front runners dominated on the grass. Has better shot here against similar company in this conditioned allowance race. May get 3-1 or 7-2. Trainer has won four races at Churchill in last two days!
Arlington Park Race 3 Play #5 Asesina
Big class drop. Was running in low level claiming races at Santa Anita before trying an allowance race at Mountaineer last out. Was unlucky fourth while getting bounced around. Drops to $15,000 claimers here and outclasses a sorry field. Even money but worth it.
Monmouth Race 5 Play #5 Emerald Earrings
This horse has never been worse than second in ten career starts (!) with six wins and four seconds. Comes off six month layoff in this conditioned allowance race. Has good tactical speed and can win on the lead or pressing. Another rather short price but a better than 50-50 shot at a win.
Admittedly three of four of these are fairly short prices but I believe they present good value anyway given their strong chances of winning.
