Tell the guy you want to play an exacta box with four horses, then give him your numbers. When you box the horses it does not matter what who's first and who's second. You should have the option for a $1 or $2 box. Four horses at $1 =$24 & at $2 =$48.
The tri-fecta is the same but will cost more, and your betting on the first three places (win, place, show).
Another way to bet the tri is doing straight bets for cheaper, the only problem is they have to come in the order you play them. For example if you bet #12 to win, #9 second and #11 third a straight will cost $2 or any other amount you want to play. If you box the three horses, then they can come in, in any order and it will cost $24.
dog he is right why are you getting involved with something you know nothing about.hey bud horse racing will destroy you if you are green to it,and its a very hit and miss sport for handicapping.
