SANTA ANITA -- Race #7 -- COURTLY JAZZ (#4)
__________________________________________________ __________________
Today's 7th race is an allowance N2x mile for four year olds and upward. The par
for this level is a 107. COURTLY JAZZ (5-2) sure looks like an up and coming
four year old ready to roll straight through his allowance conditions. This Gary
Mandella trained gelding showed he had a touch of quality when he broke his
maiden going one mile off only a single sprint prep. COURTLY JAZZ cleared the
maiden ranks with winning figures of 98-102-104+ for the 102 level. COURTLY JAZZ
had to break from post ten and race nine furlongs for his next allowance N1x
attempt. Corey Nakatani guided COURTLY JAZZ to an impressive 106-112-108+ score
at the 105 level. As we can see from the speed figures report, COURTLY JAZZ is
better than today's 107 par off the strength of his most recent start.
COURTLY JAZZ looks like a rising star, and I'll tag along for the ride for his
run through the allowance ranks. I can only see maybe FORTY SUERTUDO (6-1) or
CAPITANO (9-2) giving COURTLY JAZZ a brief "scare" to the top of the stretch.
After Nakatani shakes off his rivals, it should be all over but the shouting.
Good luck!
