Reading the racing news and looking at the DRF reminded me
It's The Road to The Roses.
The season is here and I haven't followed or bet on a horse since Nov.

Thoroughbreds are my first love when it comes to gambling.
Thought I'd take a shot with the free past performance on the web. I will try when possible to contribute here.

10-Harlington...looks like a ligit favorite. 10 hole appears to be the obstacle looking at the running styles to his left.

5-Iced Out...my pick to win here. Don't think the 8-1 ML will hold up after seeing a place ina G2 last out. His running style will put him right there at the end. His beyers have improved with each stretch out.

1-Smooth Bid and 4-Bold Lion wil round out my exotics.

I will punch this one as
    5-to win
    5-10 over 1-5-10 Exacta
1-4-5-10 $1 Tri-box I don't like to invest a bunch on Tri tickets I use it as a nice insurance policy.
    Remember the three R's:
Respect for self; Respect for others; and Responsibility for all your actions.

        Sorry about that empire.
I didn't realize I omitted some pertinent info there.
        Thanks Pitt

          rwall,

I like #3 Storm Surge (5-1) in that race... horse is bred to handle two turns and has a solid win over this course at 8 furlongs last out.

#10 Harlington (3-1) will be hampered by the post and may expend a bit too much energy early trying to clear the field.

          Possible plays:

          3,10 wiwth 3,5,10,11

Nothing in the races meets any of my key angles so I'll probably just watch this one from the couch!

Look for Consolidator to be a rediculous favorite in the San Vicente. He beat Scipion by 12- 2 back. It will be a 4 horse field. I recommend you spend time with the family instead.

Neither was I buddy. With phone book numbers like these, neither were many.
Just gotta pay attention for when the big days come so you could give an educated opinion.
Trip handicapping I think is the best for big races.
Claiming is the bread and butter for winning money not stakes. Other forms of handicapping work better for "everyday races".

Good Luck to you and keep up the great work.

                  rwall,

I find that some of my more mechanical methods (homemade speed figures, pace figures, etc.) hold up better than angles do for stakes... which of course I had no time to run on Friday for theses races. Back to pounding the claimers!
