  • Horse Racing Best Bet of Year

Churchill Downs Race 11 Gr. II Clark Hcp. Play #4 Lundy's Liability
I am playing this at five times my usual bet. Plays this year posted by me have been rated at $10 to win and place but this one will be rated at $50 to win and place. Why the fuss? Horse makes second U.S. start after winning a stakes last month in Santa Anita. Won $2 million UAE Derby in Dubai in March before being sent to U.S. and trainer Bobby Frankel. Leading SoCal rider David Flores passes up three turf stakes today at Hollywood Park to fly in to keep mount on this horse. The field is solid but with knocks. Perfect Drift is still winless on the year and St. Liam may not perform as well away from his New York base. In the meantime, the presence of the others will help us get as much as 3-1 or 7-2 on a horse with a 60 percent chance of winning. That's enormous value. This horse has tactical speed, is bred to run all day, is in top form and within a few months will emerge as the second best older dirt horse in the country behind Frankel's superstar, Ghostzapper. There are no guarantees but I strongly recommend this horse!

    One regular play:
Aqueduct Race 9 Gr. II Top Flight Hcp. Play #3 Roar Emotion
Cuts back to what should be a perfect distance for her---one mile. Tactical speed to lead or press.

He (Lundy's) looked good for the first 3/4 of the track, then ran out of gas. Thanks for the pick, though.

The horse ran well for seven furlongs and looked like a winner. Unforutnately, the race was nine furlongs long. It was a BAD pick, plain and simple. I underestimated St. Liam and overestimated my horse. Apologies to those who took the advice.
