Today's 4th race is a two year old turf mile which has a par level of 99. WHO'S ALEYNA (5-2) looks to hold all the cards in this race. Trainer David Hofmans claimed this gelding for $62,500 out of a very fast race for the level. Senor Fango earned winning figures of 105-103 for that 98 level. WHO'S ALEYNA posted figs of 107-95+ while finishing second. That combo of pace and final figures holds a decided advantage over this group.
WHO'S ALEYNA may hold more than just a figure advantage. David Hofmans seems very eager to stretch out his new claim over the turf course. When I see Kris S. on the bottom, I can see why the trainer is so anxious to try turf. I think WHO'S ALEYNA has the figures and the breeding to do very well in this race. I really like the stamina building drills that have been logged since the last race. The most recent seven furlong work proves that WHO'S ALEYNA is very well prepared for this race.
I will play WHO'S ALEYNA straight as today's spot play since I really can't pin point the most likely exacta mate. I just hope to hold that generous 5-2 morning line. Good luck!
