DEL MAR -- Race #10 -- BOLD BEAT (#6)

Today's final race on the Del Mar card is a $16,000 claiming route for three year olds only. The par is a 97. This race could offer more value than we deserve, since trainer Jack Carava has two negative class droppers that should attract much wagering attention. My hope is that both KISSIN TY (7-2) and AEROJACK (4-1) get bet down enough for today's spot play to retain his morning line value.
The very sharp BOLD BEAT (3-1) will get the call as spot play based on his two most recent route figures earned in Northern California. New trainer Mike Mitchell claimed BOLT BEAT off a very game win versus $12,500 company at Solano. His winning figures of 91-91-96+ were better than looked as BOLD BEAT had to win that race without the use of a whip in deep stretch. BOLD BEAT earned his career best route figures from two starts back. At Bay Meadows, BOLD BEAT finished a strong second with figures of 96-94-98+ (also at the $12,500 level). I expect Mike Mitchell to get a quick return on his investment with another strong showing today.
My wagering strategy will consist of a straight wager on BOLD BEAT and one exacta and quinella combo to longshot CLOUDY MONEY (8-1). Good luck!
